Question about China ABD

Considering this trip. For the days that you are at HK and Shanghai DL are there any special experiences or anything like FPs. Knowing there is a limited time there. I have done the SoCal and DL and know about some of those offerings and we did DL Paris with an ABD extension. Trying to decide whether to pull the plug on this one with my deposit that I’m going to lose in late 2022

Well, I went in 2017. At the time, we got special fastpasses for both HKDL and SHDL, and the farewell dinner was at Club 33 in SHDL. It was a wonderful end to the trip.

The China ABD is a fabulous trip, but make sure you're well-rested before you start. With all the internal flights, it can be a bit exhausting, but it is TOTALLY worth it!

I went in 2019 and they gave us fast passes for both parks. I spent an extra day in both parks on my own and was glad I did. You can buy tickets online ahead of time and I had to bring my passport to pick up my SHDL ticket. You can also buy the equivalent of fast passes online, which I didn’t do for SHDL and I regretted it. I had planned to buy them once I got to the park but they were sold out.

The lines at SHDL were outrageous and line cutting is rampant, so realize that you can have long waits for the rides. When I went without the fast passes, I think I rode 3-4 rides in 5 hours. I just gave up at one point and went back to the hotel. I don’t remember the lines at HKDL being bad and I was able to ride everything I wanted. Not the case at SHDL.

Our Chinese Adventure Guide, Joe, told us this was because people from Mainland China need a Visa to go to Hong Kong, so even if it's farther, it's easier to go to SHDL. And they just don't have as many rides as they have people.

In August 2019 we spent an extra day at SHDL. We purchased tickets and the Concierge Classic Package in advance on the SHDL app while we were in HK. It was expensive but worth it for the Fastpasses. We stayed one post night at the Peninsula and took a cab to SHDL.

We went in May 2019. Stayed two pre-nights at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and two post-nights at Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, club level at both. I highly recommend Club level at the foreign parks as they will pretty much always have an excellent English speaker and offer lots of assistance to foreign visitors. Club gave us many fast passes for HKDL but we didn't really need them as lines were so short. You do get fast passes during the ABD as well. In Shanghai the concierge arranged for the a private car which took us to the Disneytown entrance, a personal escort into the park, and the ride back when the park closed. We may have gotten a few fast passes, but you can also purchase them individually or in packages in the app.

We went in early June 2019 and stayed two pre-nights at HKDL and that park was not crowded and we were able to ride all of the rides we wanted without any issues. We also did 2 nights post trip at SHDL and that park was VERY crowded. We splurged on a private guide for the day which was very pricey but we were able to get through the entire park and ride every ride. We wouldn't have been able to do all of it without the guide and the perk of shortened waits in line.

Overall, the trip was OUTSTANDING! So many memorable moments and a great group of Adventurers to travel with. My family rates it as our best ABD yet.
