Ok quick question, when we go to Kidani we plan on eating at Chef Mickeys for breakfast. Now if we have a parking pass can we park in the Contemp, leave our car there and hop on the monorail for the day?

I know they are against offsite people parking and then leaving the car there to hop the monorail. Thanks.

No you cannot do what you say. If you have a dining ressie at the Contemporary, you can park there for that reservation but not for the day and they are now giving temporary passes that give you a maximum number of hours for parking which I believe is 3 hours max. The problem they are trying to avoid is simple and it is what was happeniing when there was unfettered parking there --the people staying there weren't able to find any parking places if they returned with a car mid-day.

That lot is for the folks staying at the resort. As mentioned, they will give you a three hour pass. I've stayed at the CR and it's very frustrating not to be able to find a place to park your car when you are actually staying there, then to watch all the cars drive out of the parking lot when the fireworks end. Obviously, those people were not staying there and there were plenty of spots available after they left.

So let me preface this with I'm not trying to encourage people to violate the rules.

But is Disney going to start towing people? Fines? or what? I'm really worried for when BLT opens and they add the extra rooms.

If there is no enforcement of the rules, no one will follow them.

Just take the bus from AKV to MK and walk over to CR. Or drive over to the TTC, park there and take the monorail to the CR.

They do tow people. Many have reported seeing tow trucks in the monorail resort lots.

The first time we walked from the CR to the MK, I was surprised to see how close the CR is to the MK bus stops! It is probably a 5 minute walk, 10 minutes tops. I think taking the bus from AKV to the MK and walking to the CR is good advice -- it isn't far at all and then the OP can take the monorail back to the MK after breakfast.

It has nothing to do with offsite or onsite....they don't want anyone who's not staying at CR to be leaving their car there all day.

there simply aren't enough spaces in the CR lot (or any other deluxe lot) for it to be used as auxiliary theme park parking. It's only fair that priority for those spaces goes to the paying guests of CR. It's one of those 'put yourself in their shoes' situations....if I were paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay at CR, and I couldn't find a space in the lot and ended up having to pay for valet because a non-CR guest was trying to avoid a 10-minute monorail trip from TTC, I'd be mightily ticked off.

Park at the TTC and take the monorail to CR, then hop the monorail or walk to MK after breakfast. Then you can head straight back to your car at the end of your day at MK.

Or,avoid the parking issue altogether and just take the bus from your resort to MK, then walk over to CR for breakfast. The MK bus depot is on the side nearest CR....it's a 10-minute walk.
