Do you need to book an ADR for EVER meal that you are going to eat while there?

I see that most of the best restaurants are prebooked way in advance. Are you able to still walk up to a place to eat, or should you really book most meals?

I would like to be flexible with most days, but prebook the must do's...obviously

TIA

Sean

If it is a sitdown meal than yes prebook. You might get lucky and have someone cancel to free open a space that day, but I wouldn't count on it. And if you are going when they have free dining it is a double yes on booking.

Last May, my husband and I didn't prebook any of our TS meals, with the exception of CRT because it's a requirement to eat there. We were on the dining plan, so we were eating a TS every day and only had trouble one day at the Magic Kingdom. I never realized how few TS restaurants there are there until then. But we just hopped on the monorail and got off at the Polynesian looking for food. We saw Kona Cafe and asked them if they could take us. Ironically that ended up being one of the best meals of the entire trip. We liked it so much that we wanted to eat there the next night (the last night of our trip), so we called the reservation line and were able to get a reservation for the next evening. I personally would recommend that if you don't want to make ADRs (I don't blame you, I've never really liked them either) - just call during your trip and see what you can next day. Unless it's during free dining - you have to be prepared during that.
