Hi...so here is my situation...I am planning on booking a cruise for late February or early March 2018 as soon as dates are released to try to get the best price. It will be me, my wif and 2 kids. I have some friends and relatives interested in coming too, but not yet ready to pull the trigger.

So my question is, when I book my room, can I book the adjoining room under my name, and then change it at a later date to whoever ends up deciding to join us?

If this doesn't work, is there another strategy to getting adjoining rooms for as yet unnamed people in your party?

Thanks

I *think* the primary name on the reservation must remain the same - and I don't believe the same name can be used for multiple cabins. Not 100% though.

Do be clear about exactly what kind of cabin you mean. If you say "adjoining" cabins, they could be across the hall from each other or next to each other but without a door between. If you want the door, you need to say "connecting".

Sort of. At least one name on the original reservation must remain on the reservation. Time was it had to be the "lead name", but no longer.

OP, the options are - book one room with your wife's name, and the other with your name. It's also a good idea to have all names of whoever might take the cruise on the reservations to start with, as it's easier to remove people than add them at a later date, usually.

OR, you can go ahead and book one room for you and your wife, and the other room in the other people's names. If they opt not to go, as long as you cancel before the Paid in Full date, you'll get all you money back (unless you book Concierge - then you forfeit the deposit amount).
