Question about Aulani Points Charts

This is more of a curiosity question, rather than an actual situation. And I apologize if it has been asked before.

But, for the Aulani owners and/or experts out there - what happens there during the last week of April/first week of May to make the points chart so high? For example, April 29-May 5, 2024 is in the top tier for points. Why?

I thought maybe it had to do with Spring Break, and late-March to early-April is high probably due to Spring Break, but mid-April is much lower points-cost, so it seems unlikely that points would go back up for that at the end of April.

The other weeks at the top tier for points make sense - the winter holidays, New Years, spring break, and summer. But I can't figure out that lest week of April.

Thanks for any help!

Weeklong celebration for Star Wars May the 4th. Star Wars took place in Hawaii and it's hugely important to the local culture. Because of the vibrant celebrations it's a really popular time for visitors as well.

(in all seriousness, I'm also curious...maybe Lei Day? maybe a natural phenomenon like sea turtles?)

Pretty certain it’s related to Golden Week.

Good call! Dates check out: https://www.japan.travel/en/sg/guide/golden-week-japan/

DVC takes the Japanese market seriously (the only other language the DVC site is available in is Japanese) and Aulani is the most accessible American Disney travel destination from Japan.
Thanks! I have never heard of this, but that makes sense.

Must be a big deal for Aulani owner to be that high up on the points chart.

We will just have to work around that week for our first trip there next year... Thanks again.

@J-Dog
One reason that AUL was the first DVC to offer guaranteed (fixed) weeks is that’s the form of timeshare ownership the Japanese are familiar with, and the Japanese were one of the target markets for AUL sales. Hawaii was very popular with tourists from Japan and Korea prepandemic.
