Question about AP upgrade and blackout exemption

My son currently has a SoCal Select AP. I have Signature. I want to upgrade my son to Deluxe. Can I do this on a day that is blocked for Deluxe but get an exemption to visit the park that one day?

I don’t know the answer to this, but I support this decision because then you guys can go over the summer and we can say hi!

Ha ha yes! The upgrade is happening. I’m just trying to figure out what day to pull the trigger.
