question about AP rates and AAA

Can you book an AP rate on a room if you intend on buying an AP (I think I read this somewhere)?

Also, is there any way a person can check on an AP rate is the existing reservation is bboked through AAA?

If an agent at AAA booked your hotel then they would have to call Disney to get the AP rate.

If you book your room with the AAA rate yourself then you can call and change it.

You can book a room with an AP rate and not actually have an AP rate in hand- you just will show it when you check in.

So, yes its a good idea to book a room with the AAA rate and then if you can't get an AP discount at least you'll have some of a discount.
