Question about ADRs

I've made our reservation for lunch at Cindy's castle and now I'm looking to make the rest of my ADRs for November. For the castle, they needed my CC and billed me right there. I'm wondering if this is true of all ADRs or just the fancy schmancy ones--character meals, shows, etc.

Thanks, I'd like to make them ASAP, but cannot pay for them today :)

I think only a few take the CC reserve. A Fantasmic dinner package is one. However, I am under the impression that they don't bill the CC until you miss the reservation. I had considered the Fantasmic dinner package and made a reservation. I gave my CC #. I was told that I would not be charged unless I did not cancel within 24 or 48 hours (don't remember which) and failed to show up. I did cancel, and was never charged. I also made ADR's at Chef Mickey's and Boma and no CC was required. The CM reservation was actually for my sister and her family and they did not go.

So, go ahead and make your ADR's. Even if they require a CC, you won't be charged now. Even with the CC hold, you can make an alternative payment arrangement when you dine--DP, cash, etc.

Thank you! But I know without a doubt my card was charged, pretty immediately as I recall. I could have sworn that I read somewhere that a res @Cindy's would result in this :confused3 Something I obviously have to look into.

So I can not only book for Boma's and such, but CP and garden grille w/o them actually billing yet? And can someone chime in w/what happened w/their card and their Cindy res?

Thanks

there is a list on allearsnet.com that shows which require a deposit or cc guarantee....however I believe now all signature meals require a cc guarantee at least...i needed to give my cc for CG and Jiko when I booked the other day. But you will only be charged the cancel fee I believe, for those if you cancel too close to the ressie time. Dinner shows like the luau and hoop de doo you will be charged the full amount if you cancel too close. But here's the link to give you a better idea:

That link was incredibly helpful. And the more I think of it, I know I was charged almost $90 for our Cindy lunch. :confused3 I guess I'll call tomorrow.

Since I have your rapt attention, are all ADRs 180 days in advance? Like the spirit of aloha too? And where is that fancy date calculator thing that gives you the day to call.

Thanks

It used to be that dinner shows could be made 2 YEARS in advance but I think it's 180 days now. I made my HDDR reservations in April for Aug and had no probs. BUT they did charge me the full amount right then and will refund it if I cancel within 48 hours. I had to give my CC info for the Fantasmic package but was not charged. I had also looked into CRT and was told I would have been charged right away for that too. As for the other ADR's I made they didn't need anything. Hope that helps some!!

I was definitely not charged anything for my ADR for Cindy's dinner I booked for December the other week or for any signature meals...but that may be to the fact that I am on the dining plan bc I was not charged for my FDP at Mama Melrose's. There may be some changes on the link I provided you that hasn't been updated. Also the ADR calc link is: http://pscalculator.net/allearsnet/pscalcae.php

Thanks so much. I just found the Cindy sticky and evidentally if you are paying OOP, and not using the credits, you will be charged in full. So, at least we won't be paying twice.

Off to do the math...

Thanks for all the info!!
