Question about adding on....

If I want to add additonal points from what I have today (210 - one contract for VWL) - do I have to have a new contract even if I was to add on to same resort?

I guess all these transferring of points discussions had me thinking - what if we got a contract we could "afford" now with the intention of adding say 90 points on in a couple of years. Would that be considered a new contract and therefore if I wanted to combine my points into one lump (say I wanted to take two major trips that year) would that count as a transfer?

I don't think it will be an issue to only have one transfer a year max for my family - I just need to take into consideration how much to buy if it is considered a separate contract.

Thanks!

We have two separate contract numbers. Had to sign paperwork over again etc. BUT we wanted to add on in the same use year (I don't have time to play around with managing all kinds of use years)... So, we have 180 pts. and added on 130 pts. at the same place with the same use year.

If you add-on 90 points, the contract will be part of your original "Master" contract and will have the same Use Year- even if you choose a different resort. Unless you purchase 150 or more points or a resale, all purchases thru Disney will be added to your original contract (although it would be a separate deed which could be sold separately if desired) and would not require any transfer (since the points are already combined in the same contract) to be used with the points in your original contract. the two contracts would be counted as one for banking concerns.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys.....makes my life a little easier when planning for the future. We plan on getting several points in the future as our kids grow up a little more and we can go on more vacations to not only Disney but elsewhere.
