Question about adding Free Dining to DVC

Hi everyone.. I am not a DVC member, but I am renting points and going during the Free Dining time. Am I eligible for free dining?

Sorry you are not eligible for Free Dining. DVC reservations are not eligible for any CRO promotions. To be eligible, you need to book a room through CRO and pay full rack rate w/passes.

DVC and CRO/WDTC (which is offering free dining) are completely separate entities. DVC is a timeshare, and doesn't have anything to do with any of the deals or packages like 4/3 or free dining that are offered to the general public for cash reservations.

You can add the dining plan at the regular price. The member you're renting from would need to add that to your reservation, and you would pay for it at check in.

Free dining is not available with any DVC reservation. It can be applied only to a full price room/tickets package purchased through WDTC. As the previous poster mentioned, you can purchase a dining plan if you have the member you are renting from add it to your reservation at least 2 days before you arrive.

We sold our DVC late last year. We typically went during Free dining. It was a bummer to pay for dining when so many were getting it free. This year we are staying at POR. Our room will be half the size, but we get free dining. Honestly, we always got the dining plan and hardly spent time in our room. So I hope we won't miss it.

Thanks for the help everyone. Yes, it's a bummer to have to pay for the dining, but you save so much from renting points it kind of evens out i'm thinking! I appreciate your responses.
