So I've figured out the finances, etc. and I think with the incentive now may be a good time to do an add-on. How does this work when I book my stay? Since my original contract is an April use year at WLV ideally I'd like an add on with the same use year. However, if that is unavailable then how does it work? What would happen if I opted to go for 100 points at BCV--I know my booking window for WLV would remain 11 moths for home resort and 7 months for elsewhere and that BCV would be 11 months for there and 7 for other resorts--BUT what if I didn't have enough points for the WLV ressie and had points at BCV. Would I have to split stays or what? This is getting me more confused. Thanks in advance to anyone with knowledge about this!

hi, we just added on a few months ago and our use year was april and we were able to do an add-on for the same use year they told us that april had alot of availability our add-on was gor the VWL. to answer your second question if you have 2 diffrent home resorts if you want a ressie at VWL and you dont have enough points to finish out your ressie you would have to borrow from your next years points if you are booking 11 months out.
if anyone sees that i am wrong please correct me, but i think this is correct.

I was told by my guide that any add-on would HAVE to be the same use year. There were no more points left for my use-year at HH, so I had a choice of BCV or Vero.

You are correct. Disney will only sell you an add-on with the same use year as your main contract. However, if you buy resale, you can purchase any use year.

In the situation you describe, you'd either need to split your reservation, wait until the 7 month window opend to get the extra days or use banking/borrowing to have enough points. You could do a split then try to change it at the 7 month window using the wait list if necessary. This is likely the best option for most people of the 3 above. I'd vote against the simply waiting option unless you would only stay at the one resort and cut your stay short if you didn't get it.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully there won't be a problem with the April use year at WLV and then I won't have any troubling possibilities!
