Hi all!
My fiance and I are getting married in Florida in October. We are not able to afford a Disney wedding so we're getting married by a minister in Melbourne, FL.
But, we are staying in Kissimmee for the week with my futre inlaws and my 6 year old son. We are renting an offsite condo but my fiance and I will be spending our wedding night and the following night at the WL.
We are going to be having a small dinner, just the 5 of us the evening after the wedding, Oct. 22, and were wanting some suggestions on the best restaurant to celebrate our marriage.
We want to do so on Disney property. Any suggestions would be great.
If you could also suggest a great place to order a small cake, that would be appriciated.
Already ordered and recieved my Mickey & Minnie cake topper from Disney.com, do I just take it with me to the restaurant for them to place it on the cake?
TIA!

Hi and welcome! You're sure to get lots of helpful suggestions here. If you want a fancy dinner, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge would be a great choice. Also, if you order a cake to be served there, it will come from the Wilderness Lodge bakery, and, in my opinion, they make the best looking cakes of all the resort bakeries.

There is a sticky on the Food Board that tells you everything you need to know about ordering a cake to be served at a WDW restaurant.

Congrats!!! :cheer2:

I would suggest Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian for your dinner... I never actually ate there, but I hear it's awesome! Plus, you will still be able to be dressed up and fit right in (there is a dress code for that restaurant) It also is a bit expensive...

Other favorites include Narcoosee's (at the Grand Floridian) or The California Grill at the Contemporary. Those might be great spots because they both have fantastic views of the Wishes fireworks at night (and they lower the lights and pipe in the music so you can watch!) I bet you could request a private room or a table right next to the window at both restaurants.

The best part about the above restaurants is that you and your guests won't need a park ticket in order to dine there! I would suggest calling the restaurants directly to see if you can book something special for the occasion (instead of going through Disney Dining). There may be restrictions on wearing your gown to dinner though. I'd check with them about that too!

Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table in the MK might also be really special as well! DF and I ate there with my family a few years ago and loved the food (especially the pretzel rolls!) I know you could not wear your gown to this restaurant, but maybe they could get you a table with a direct view of Wishes? That would be really special!

You might also want to try the DIS Dining Review thread for more suggestions or restaurant reviews!

I love all the restaurants in Disney, so I'm sure you won't have a problem. Good luck!!!

COngrats... Check out California Grill at the COntemporary... GREAT FOOD

I ate at Victoria and Alberts on my last visit (the night my DF proposed) and it was amazing the food was great 7 courses and one free taster course at the beginning, the wine was great we took the wine pairing so got a glass of wine for each course of the meal and they complimented each other brilliantly and the service was excellent - when I came back from the table after going to the toilet (3 times - all the wine) there was always someone there to pull out my chair and you got a fresh serviette each time. All women get a red rose:flower3: and each guest gets their own personalised menu in a presentation envelope - a nice keepsake for your special night. It was expensive but it was well worth it.:cloud9:

Congrats and good luck! Victoria and Albert's is Great! So is California Grill and Artisit pointe. If you are looking for a formal evening that is definately the way to go and at V & A the menu's are personalized with your names and the ladies get a rose afterwards. Cirtricos is also nice as well. Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is VERY good and one of the top rated restaurants at Disney. Sorry if I was not much help! If you are looking for something a little more laid back there is Yatchsman Steakhouse at Yatch Club and Spoodles at Boardwalk! So many choices!!!!
Have a wonderful time

Aren't your other 2 boys going to join you for the wedding and trip? I just noted on your profile it says: Biography:
28 year old mother of 3 boys.
I'd hope all three of your children are included in this special event. :confused3

As I replyed in another post to the other spot you asked, It is a very long story as to why my 2 older sons are not able to make this trip. :sad2:

We are planning a 2nd trip in the spring of '08 for all of us.

Sorry, you didn't reply on the other thread... you just posted the same thing you did here. Need more time to create the very long "story"? :rolleyes1

No actually, I just didn't realize I needed to share my "story" when all I was doing was asking for advice from people who have done this kind of thing before.
Why would I need to make something up anyway......

Keep in mind that Victoria and Albert charges the same for any child (regardless of age) as they would for an adult.

Ok, I haven't seen the other thread, and don't really know anything about DisneyGuess but.....

Isn't that her personal life, JustCurious? If she wants her personal life to be personal, then it should be. She came her to ask a question about dining, not to get grilled on her home life!

Looks like Just_Curious is someone the OP knows who joined the boards just to stalk her. Perhaps the Mods should intervene? :confused3

Totally off the topic, although finding this thread a bit weird and dont want involved anyway. but I just have to ask (sorry I may be being very thick) but what does op stand for, I am still fairly new to boards and trying to figure out some of the abbreviations is hard.

No trouble. I had to ask tons of abbreviation questions when I first started!

op=original poster (when you're responding to the person who posed the question, not anyone who commented thereafter)

Thanks very helpful.:thumbsup2 There are lots on the welcome boards so I am using that well but for some reason not that one.:sad2:
