Are you responsible for getting your luggage from one hotel to the other, or do they have some sort of service that does that for you?

We are booked at the Floridian March 29th-April 5th. We just bought our airfare and found that if we flew into Orlando one day earlier we would save a huge amount....so now we do not know where to stay the first night we are there...our flight arrives at 7pm, so we are probably going to have the kids go to bed once we get to our hotel, which makes staying an extra night at the Floridian a waste of money (it would be around $560 for that one night). We are trying to decide between staying at the Hyatt or Mariott right near the airport, or book a value or moderate at Disney and just go to the Floridian the next day....thoughts or opinions?!

The resort will transfer your luggage to your next resort. Transfers occur around 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the afternoon, so keep anything you need on you, such as medications, change of clothes, etc.

You will need to be in the room to receive the luggage or you can pick it up at bell services and take it to your room right away when you arrive later in the day. If you opt to have them deliver it, then a tip is expected.

Either way, staying at the resort or the airport, you cannot lose with such a late day flight. However, what is nice about getting to the resort at night, if you can get up early refreshed, send off your luggage to the next resort and be in the parks early. You can check into your new resort as early as 7:00 am, when the computers roll over.

If you stay at the airport, you still have to get to the GF and it may be too hectic that first morning.

I say get a value for one night.

I agree with PP. The difference in price between the values and the airport hotels isn't that big. The plus of staying at a value is you are already there! You said that you would have the kids go to sleep when you get to the hotel. So why waste time the next morning traveling from the airport hotel to Disney when you can do it the night before. That way you and the family will be ready to go explore Disney! As the PP said there is a baggage transfer service so you can inform the front desk and they will take care of it for you.

Actually the price of the hotel we were going to stay at right at the airport was $300 for the one night....the online quote for Pop is $160, so we are saving money there too:)

Now I just have to wait for my travel agent to email back saying that she was able to book it:surfweb:
