Question about 2019 points on listings

I am looking for a 100pt contract with a Sept. or Oct. use year. If they have 2019 points they would have to be banked by now if you wanted to bank them correct?

For example I see Sept contracts
2019-O
2020-100, 33 banked

vs
2019-100
2020-100

Assuming the same cost of course I’d want the second one because it has more points. However, I have no use for those points until until early 2022. If I was to bid on the second can those 2019 pt still be banked or would I have to use them by Aug. 2021?

Since the banking deadline for September (April 30) has passed and the deadline for October (May 31) is tomorrow, the 2019 points will expire at the end of their respective 2019 use years.

IMO, the 2019 points in the second contract have no value (by the time you get access to the points, you will have little time left to use them and availability will be virtually zero before expiration).

With those UYs, those points will be virtually useless because you would have to use them before the 2020 UY starts.

Assume 2 months for offer to close...and another 2 weeks for points available for booking

From today, you’d get those points mid July and they’d expire Aug 30th.
