Just caught up reading. Sorry to hear you had to cancel your cruise
@bobbiwoz but it sounds like it was the right thing. If you had to get medical help on the ship they’d confine you to your room! Love the pic of Bonnie, I have a similar one of Toto! It’s so cold for them. Toto was out for a little bit yesterday and came in and was shivering, so I put his bday sweater on him. He’s doing better, still limping and seems tired, though he’s raring to go if anything’s going on, lol.
Hope you’re feeling ok now
@easyas123 knock on wood but I’m surprised we’re not sick. (More later re trips to ER.) Nice travel plans for everyone!
@lynxstch Sorry to hear of your power outage and of course Summer’s ongoing car issues. If she didn’t have bad luck she’d have no luck at all. Ugh. Glad she wasn’t hurt, anyway.
Well it’s been a whirlwind here and I’ve been out of the loop. Didn’t even get notifications for here as I hadn’t read for a while. Had to take DH to the ER twice in the middle of the night this past weekend Sunday into Monday, and then again Monday into Tuesday. Long hours there, no sleep, you know how it goes - we’re all wiped out. Had to do the same two weeks ago too. Heart racing. Had a procedure for it Monday, but afterward he couldn’t move his arm. A weird thing that can happen but rare, I’d never even seen it before over 40 years of taking care of people having this procedure. He’s walking around like the one armed man from the Fugitive!

(We had a little fun on the family text with that one!) Getting better, but slowly. No more racing heart beat which is good. He’s off now for a couple of weeks from work and then he’ll go back part time, this being his retirement gig. Glad he can just rest right now. This has generated a lot of extra appointments for him but hopefully it all remains just a small bump in the road.
Pea- how ya feeling? I hope the current protocol you are on is agreeing with you.
Thanks for asking, easy! I don’t start it until mid January as my oncologist wants my lungs to be really healed after radiation as this new med can cause lung problems, so mid January it is. I’ve been in prep for it though. Yesterday I had to meet the pharmacist I’ll be working with who’ll be managing the medication for me. It was an hour long video appt and I have a full page of notes on my legal pad! Then she sent me more information online to review. Talk about intimidating! We mainly went over what it’s for, how it works, what I have to do, and what side effects can occur and how to manage them. Praying for the lesser side effects but one major one is diarrhea. It makes it a little difficult as anywhere you go there needs to be a toilet nearby! It’s not infectious, just inconvenient. And uncomfortable. I mean, who wants to sit on a strange and potentially dirty toilet at length wherever you go? (And who wants me on their toilet with that? Lol.) But if that’s the only side effect, I’ll be lucky. Nausea and fatigue other ones, and possibly alopecia (which I pray not - I think losing my hair twice already is enough for one lifetime; it’s coming in so beautifully right now). But the more worrisome ones for me are the potential for lung inflammation, blood clot, elevation of liver enzymes and stuff like that. This is what’s been recommended for me based on my particular case of cancer which has a high risk of recurrence. I don’t have to take it but I’d be crazy not to with the good results it’s having on improved recurrence rates and survival. I just have to balance that with how I feel day to day. Praying for good results. They’ll start me off slowly and increase the dose, checking my bloodwork every two weeks, etc.
Love hearing about your trips! DD and I booked a little winter getaway in the middle of the night one night recently. It was a nice ‘therapeutic diversion’. Found a club level room at a discount which will be sweet. (I hope we actually get to go with all that’s going on, but we’ll play it by ear.) Trip will be resort heavy/R&R which makes it worth it for us. DD booked us into the Beak and Barrel, she wants to try it. We might book a restaurant or two but honestly, in Sept the meals we had just weren’t good so we’ll be more careful about where we go. Easy we’ve had a nice meal at the Edison before, I like that place. In Sept DD was disappointed there was one place at DS she really wanted to try, their “Halloween food” looked really cool. (Can’t think of the name of it right now but will post later if I can figure it out.) Maybe I’ll get the $24 banana split again at Ghirardelli’s if I make it over to DS, haha. (They like DS more than I do.)
In Sept we stayed one night in a Theme Park View tower room at the Contemporary - as a bday treat - then we moved over to a one bedroom at OKW. We’ve noticed the past few times we’ve been over around the MK resorts, they’ve just gotten crazy with people crawling everywhere! Like, to the point you can barely move. (CR and Poly especially.) Plus the monorails are always down. We had gone over to the Poly for dinner in Sept and wanted to get back in time for fireworks from our room, as DS and his crew were meeting us there, etc. Well the monorail was down and the line for the boats was super long. After a tense wait we had to boat it over to MK on a standing room only boat. Thankfully by that time the monorail was back up so we took it over to the CR and up to our room, just in time. But it was hairy. We went back over again for something and it happened again, monorail down. Line for Tambu Lounge was also back to the stairs - I guess everyone’s onto that idea now that they can get a sample of O’Hana food at the bar. Things felt much more relaxed once we got over to OKW. We love it there. We’ve found we’re tending to prefer the resorts that don’t have monorail or skyliner access as they’re just more relaxed. DS and them were at POR for two nights before joining us at OKW and it was really relaxed and beautiful there, too, felt to me more like how Disney used to be. We even jaunted over to POFQ for biegnets and it was nice there, too. We’re just wanting to be around hordes of people less and less. We will also think about heading to Nashville this summer as our niece and family friends are there, and DS wants to go to Dollywood, lol. We also have two ‘destination weddings’ in NH this summer, a nephew and a family friend.
I hope everyone has a nice day today and weekend coming up. Good timing on the holidays this year.

PS We rang in the new year quietly at home watching Bridgerton. Been wanting to watch that for a while, I love the English type shows like that. DH got into it too, he’s used to watching those w me even though he came in at the end of Season 1, I explained it to him. He dozed off a bit anyway, lol.
