Good morning. Drizzling outside, high temp of 46. Rain tomorrow, chance of rain Saturday. Dave just texted me that Sunday and Monday look good, so he's going to try and get to those steps then. Temps are going to start dropping after next week, so they have to get done. If he hadn't come and chipped all the bad stuff off, they might have made it through the winter, but now they won't.

My Fed Ex pkg came yesterday and I asked the driver if he had been the one the last 2 days. He said no, he wasn't anywhere around, but he did hear that 2 subs got fired so I'm guessing they were the 2 that I had. Can't say I'm sorry. Who knows how many other pkgs were misdelivered or just left laying anywhere they felt like it.

Tomorrow is Wicked day. I can't wait. My shirt is ready, my nails are painted alternating green and pink glitter polish, and I don't care what anyone else thinks, lol.

Have a good day.

One of your Country’s snack foods always tops the list of items on our Christmas table- scotch eggs. My sons, husband & brother in law LOVE those things!

(Is it true they are considered a gas station junk food type thing over your way?
Yes, kinda...it's either a snack you pick up at a petrol station during a long drive, or take to a picnic. It isn't something that would feature on our Christmas dinner table. Maybe for a Boxing Day buffet tho, with cold meats.

Well my eldest has a stomach of steel and isn't known for his dietary sophistication...that's for sure! Our Christmas Day is a heavy finger food type late lunch buffet instead of a seated meal so I'm getting away with it at the moment, but yeah I think you are correct that it's not for a proper table!
Thanks for your response!

Good Morning. It is 26 now with temps heading to the lower 40s. I was in the office yesterday and then had a dentist appt. Thankfully the traffic was not bad either way. Today I hope to go to Kohls to look at luggage. My current suitcase is heavy even with nothing in it so I want a hard side case that is lighter. My friend had one and it packs well and is easier to get off the luggage carousel at the airport. I have Kohls cash and 30% off plus the luggage is on sale. This weekend I will most likely go to Paper Store and other similar stores. I have coupons for Paper Store and they have sales right now. I am starting to look at dresses for Kenny's wedding as it takes me months to make a decision. I do not like wearing dresses as I don't think I look good so I will get help from Aimee. I am looking at a teal blue color as pink is taken and so is navy as the guys are wearing navy and tea length to cover most of my legs.

Have a good Friday. Glad this work week is almost done. Crazy week.

I wore pants to match a dressy top for my son's wedding. They were black and full, almost skirt like if I were standing still. Marriage was during covid and it was a struggle to find something as no one was giving answers on colors.

Thankfully that's over! But still the wedding was beautiful, and now I've got 2 more grandchildren, 4 in total.

It's Wicked Day!!
Good morning, the forecast keeps changing. First it was going to rain all day. Now it says cloudy and will be 58. I'm half expecting Dave to text and say he wants to do the steps today. Sorry, not happening, I have plans. He's going to have to wait until Sunday and Monday.

Summer texted me yesterday that she got the rest of the insurance money and found a car she wanted (over an hour and a half away) that she was going to look at, and probably buy. But of course the dealer is asking for more than she has and she thinks she's going to talk him down by a couple of thousand dollars. I don't see that happening. I told her it would be smarter to drive down and look at it, test drive it, not look too 'eager and say she was just looking for now. It's an almost 13 year old car with over 100,000 miles on it already. Gas/electric. She's raving about the gas mileage it will get. I reminded her that those might have been the mpg ratings 13 years ago, but like any car, those go down over the years. And I don't think she gets what an elec car is. She told me that when you fill up the gas tank, it charges the elec part of the car.

I didn't hear from her after that, so I expect the drive to the theater is going to be nothing but car talk. I told her to keep looking around and find something that won't require special maintenance if something goes wrong. In one ear and out the other is what I'm expecting.

Have a great Friday!

Good morning everyone. A tad chilly here to start the day at 46. Not sure where we are headed to later on.

I caught a nasty head cold last week, I think at the funeral for my husband's cousin. Doesn't stop me from everything I need to do but I will say it slowed me down a tad. This is day 5 so I should be turning the corner towards it abating in the next day or two. Mostly a runny nose and sneezing, no fever, aches or chills.

Said good-bye to another of my husband's dr.'s as he is retiring at the end of the year. Will be sad to see him go as we really liked him and his style. Jim will see another dr. in the practice moving forward. Then the cardiologist this week, he was also new as our other dr. moved out of state. On the way there the check engine light came on in my car while I was stuck in construction traffic on I-95. They have been doing construction on that road for at least 10 years with no end in sight. Thankfully it was a sensor glitch, and the mechanic was able to clear it. Almost didn't make the appointment as I had to get the car OK'd to drive and of course a ton more traffic. Thankfully we have all the clearances from the specialists for Jim's surgery which hopefully will be by Christmas.

Today is laundry and changing the area rug in the dining room. My dog had some accidents on the old one so I am replacing it. Found a nice one for only $60 so my grandson will come and help me move the furniture today and I'll do a quick mop of the floor and replace it. We have a pea pad for her for overnight, but it is on a plastic tray to avoid any more issues.

Heading to a Bingo fund raiser tomorrow with my daughters and then going to the Spirit of Christmas store. They opened one not that far from me over the bridge in New Jersey. Not sure I will get anything but am very curious to check it out. I love the Spirit of Halloween stores.

Not much else going on around here. Hard to believe Thanksgiving is only a week away. My poor mom is so frazzled she thought it was in 2 weeks. Then she realized the Tea at church is in 2 weeks. She needs a vacation that unfortunately she can't take.

As far as a favorite side dish - Stuffing with mushrooms and NOT RAISINS. Sadly, it won't have mushrooms because my mom caters to my youngest brother and he doesn't like them. Thankfully the raisin experiment was just one time, and we all said not to do that ever again. I eat all the other sides year-round as I love the vegies and make them regularly, especially the brussels sprouts.

Floor update to come

Hey - how are things going? Both with the floors and your situation? Hopefully well, I know we are all looking forward to hearing how your Dad made out with the installation!

So I'm waiting for a Instacart order, only my second time using it. I've not got a great feeling about it. We use it all the time for the offices BUT when I try to use it for myself (ironically, delivering to the same office address) something gets fouled up. This time I selected the delivery time between 3 & 5 PM and tipped 20%. So far no notification that shopping has even begun, but my fingers are crossed so we will see. Last time I tried this they never showed up. I'm just trying to free up some time this weekend, so we will see.

I've got some cleaning & straightening up to do this evening and tomorrow morning. We have a luncheon date tomorrow mid-day, then back to some house straightening up on Saturday late afternoon. Sunday I'm treating myself to a day I've been promising myself for a few years and I'm finally going to do it. New Christmas decorations. Indoor, outdoor, tree lights & ornaments - you name it. I've gone thru and given the kids the majority of their ornaments. Sorted thru the tired and older items that no longer appeal to us and hold no nostalgic feelings and passed those on to others. Now it's time for a brand new refresh. Still have a fair number of ornaments but freshening up my collection is defiantly in order.

I think I'll go haunt my Instacart order till I drive myself crazy.

Happy Friday. The sun was out this morning and fish were up. Tom wanted to feed them a bit, so we did. We did find a bike store that is opened in Court House, they won’t pick up the trike, so we’ll pay our Handiman to deliver it tomorrow. The store will deliver it when it’s finish getting maintenance. Yesterday the chain came off. Luckily we were only a few houses from home, and it happened at the end of the ride!

Tom has put outside decorations up. Sadly no more icicle lights…the squirrels have won! They have eaten the wires, we replaced them, the squirrels tasted those. We bought this house in 1998..5 years ago the destruction began. 🙁

Enjoy whatever you do! @flyingdumbo127, I was very happy to see your update!

The movie was awesome. I laughed, and I cried. There might have been 20 people in the theater, which surprised me. There were only 3 kids in all of those people.

I'm going again tomorrow to the double feature, I want to see both parts together. After that I'll wait for it to be on video.

Did grocery shopping after, that will be the last time I go into a Walmart at 3 pm on a Friday. Hit Martins after that and got my free turkey, which I gave to Summer. I don't have room in the freezer for one and there's no point in cooking a 20 lb turkey for one person. I have turkey thighs for my own Thanksgiving dinner.

Off to change, scan and put stuff away and find something for dinner. Then I'm going to do nothing, lol.

Have a good evening.

Glad you enjoyed the movie dear Lynn.

Dear Easyas, I hope both of our Instacart orders come through smoothly today. I am expecting one through Ralph's this evening.

Dear Bobbi, thank you always. Prayers extra for both you and Tom. How is Bonnie?

I don't have a definite floor update yet. We have not gotten them installed yet. A mediator through our city has been incredible to get the owner to at least pay some of the humungous (to us) cost. We had to wait for that process. Empire hasn't been on top of things especially since our representative left the company. We now have the option of sticking with Empire or going with contractors from the management company. We are praying about and getting specifics answered to both options.

Either way, whether Empire or the management company contractors, do our floors we fully expect that to happen within the next two weeks. We have the blessing of opportunity now to not have to pay 100% of the cost we need to take the time to get that in writing of course along with all other details. If not before, Tuesday, I will update our decision then.

Meantime, therapy-wise things have improved here. That is a grace for sure.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise, Mona. Empire really doesn’t have a good reputation and their salespeople are very pushy. I had a guy come out to the house once and I couldn’t get rid of him. Like, he wouldn’t leave - after he gave me the inflated estimate and I told him I wasn’t interested. Said, never again. We had our floors done this spring with a small, local company. They were excellent. Have had not problems w the floors and don’t expect to - they’re solid. I hope if you go with the management company contractors they do a good job for you and if there are any problems (knock on wood there aren’t), they’re responsive. I’m glad you’re getting some help with the cost.

I just googled recent reviews for Empire:
