Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Lynn Hope you had a good trip home and getting some rest after travel.

Good morning. It is 14 right now with temps heading to 30. Then snow, freezing rain, and rain coming in. I do not like icing and I am on the edge of the icing area. I don't like to lose power so hoping that doesn't happen. Yesterday Kenny came by to drop off some flowers and candy for me for Valentine's Day. He is so sweet to do that. We chatted a bit too. I had candy for him, his GF, and the kids. He made a difficult day better. Today I will see Jeff and grandkids. First I need to get some housework done. I was on Land's end website and ended up buying a few things that were on sale. I am looking ahead to trips and what I may need. Nothing like retail therapy. Last week I bought a dress from Land's end for the cruise. I do not usually wear dresses at all but maybe it will be nice to dress up a bit for a dinner or 2 on the cruise.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning. I'm home and woke up to light snow showers and 30 degrees. I want to go back to waking up looking at the ocean and having warm sunny temps. Now they're calling for a potential storm for Wed/Thursday for another 3-5" of snow. Yuck!

While Summer did a good job of feeding the cats, the litter boxes all need to be changed out with clean fresh boxes. And she decided to reorganize the cabinet my cat food was in, so I have to un-reorganize it. I'm going to dust and vacuum today, and then unpack and do laundry.

We've already got potential plans and a date to go back on the calendar, just trying to decide if we want to stay on Oahu or try a different island.

@Snowysmom I'm glad that Kenny made your Valentine's Day brighter. We witnessed a wedding proposal at the airport yesterday, it was so sweet.
Have a good day all.

Welcome home dear PollyannaMom and dear Lynn. I sure pray to go home myself next month. I hope each of you did have a Happy Valentine's Day. Never forget God loves you. I care, too. Dad should be here soon. God willing next week we will make both getting out of here (to a better facility) and recovery progress. Thank you all always for your continuing love and prayers. Have a great afternoon, friends :)

Gloomy day here in Cape May. I didn’t sleep well the night before last, and though last night was better, I am rather sleepy today. It’s rainy now. Tom left to bring a meal to our church ( frozen), I made some extra stuffed shells. The meals get brought to some charities in town.

I hope you get a more suitable rehab center, soon, Mona.

Tom is color blind to some degree and he couldn’t see the celery he was buying had brown on the green stalks. It was definitely deteriorating, even a bit mushy and I asked him to bring it back, and Wal Mart didn’t take it back. I was surprised. It’s in the compost.

Good morning. It is 26 here and we have about 4-5 inches of snow. It is now turning over to freezing rain which I do not like. It is supposed to change to rain later. I am just hoping we do not have power/cable/internet outages. Tomorrow wind is forecast to be high winds with gusts up to 50 mph. Again, hope for no outages. Kenny is working this weekend and has to travel between 2 local hospitals. I am concerned about him being on the slippery roads. I already told him to be careful and I know he is. Yesterday was a nice visit with Jeff and the grandkids. They like their valentine bags. I usually bring Annie's gummies but this time I didn't as they had candy in their bags. As I was leaving Sam asks, Nana you have gummies? I explained why I didn't bring any but he again said, you have gummies? I guess I learned to always bring gummies no matter what! I have a beef stew in the crock pot. I am having alot of faith that we won't lose power. Next up is carpet cleaning. As you said Lynn, the cleaner was easy to put together and looks easy to use.

Those in the storm area stay safe and warm. Have a good day.

Crazy weather here. 47° feels like 33° with the wind, and on Wednesday, and Thursday the high and low are both in the TWENTIES!!! With SNOW! Yikes.

Next Sunday I do the prep for the operation on Monday. We will spend Sunday night at a motel close to the hospital. So, this my last normal week for awhile. Last night I had a scare, I woke up feeling I wasn’t breathing using the CPAP machine. It was very scary for me. I took the CPAP off…and was up, fiddling with it, afraid to go to sleep. Eventually, I realized I was breathing too fast into it. I did calm down and slept.

I continue to read some inspirational books and I do feel they have helped me prepare mentally. My cold/cough is better.

The procedure is called “Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy” and it can last up to 10+ hours. It’s trust to think the doctors can do it, and my 78 year old body can withstand it and recover. Many people are praying for me, and in turn, I am praying for all who are.

Thanks for listening.

Good morning. Yesterday ran the entire scope of weather. We went from snow, to freezing rain, the sun came out for a few minutes, and then it rained. It's supposed to rain today, with the temp hitting 50. High wind warnings for tomorrow, then dropping into the 20's the rest of the week. I wish I had stayed in Hawaii, lol.

The house is as clean as it's going to get. I cleared the snow we got yesterday before it rained, in case it did freeze overnight, which it didn't.

I've been watching The Traitors on Peacock. I am up to date with the American version and just finished both seasons of the Australia version. UK is next.

We'll all be sending you prayers @bobbiwoz

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning chilly start here but supposed to get to near 60 and then Wednesday to Thursday back in the deep freeze with snow forecast, thankfully only 3-5 inches right now. I can deal with that. This weather is wreaking havoc on two things that need to be done outside. The electrician need to rewire the meter since the wires are in bad shape with no insulation outside. The siding is on hold too until it gets warm enough to put that up. I just hope I won't find serious damage from the missing pieces. I have noticed I will need a patch of drywall under my bedroom window. The bedrooms are slated for next year with new windows and then I should be done all the renovations.

Not much else going on around here. Dad is looking much better. My brother came up from Virginia for the Superbowl so my mom, who HATES football had a small party. Dad had me laughing as he was back to his old self. He kept sneaking food when mom wasn't looking. She could control the meatballs but not the food on the table. Of course, I enabled Dad a bit by pushing things closer to him so he could reach them. I left a little early so I could get Jim and head to my son's house. He invited us there for the Superbowl, and I was quite happy that he did since Jim won't say anything, but I know he misses going there. LJ was there too and watching him in action reminds me so much of my son at that age, he never stopped moving. My Eagles won so I was very happy about that and that I left my mom's early. They are 3 blocks from one of the crazy spots after a big win. Been there and done that. When we got home there were Crime Scene Units blocking my driveway. The police were very nice and moved so I could get in the driveway. Evidently a neighbor accidentally shot his girlfriend in the arm. Thankfully she is OK but spent the week in the hospital. When I found out what happened I was stunned. He's a retired cop and a really nice guy. He moved back home to take care of his parents and the last person I ever expected to hear do something like this. Detectives came around asking questions and all I could say is that it had to be an accident as he really is a nice guy.

My Disney trip is in 16 days and I cannot wait. I am heading down the day before Flower and Garden starts and I love that festival.

@bobbiwoz - Prayers that all goes well. Are you coming up to the Camden area or Philly? I know from my aunt that there aren't that many great hospitals down there as she was always transferred to Philly so I am assuming you are headed up my way. We have some excellent Cancer Centers up here.

Hope you all have a great day.

Bobbiwoz Prayers for you, your family, and the doctors who are helping you.

Tazdev Glad your father is feeling better and back to his old self. Sounds like he enjoyed all the snacks. Have fun on your Disney trip. The Flower and Garden festival was always our favorite time to go. No Disney trip this year but I think I may sneak in a trip next May.
Lynn I love the meditating Mickey.

Cooper Hospital in Camden. It’s affiliated with MD Anderson in Houston.

I think that is where my BIL was treated. It does have a good reputation. I'm partial to Fox Chase since they saved my dad's life but it is a bit further for you to travel. If you need anything while up in this area let me know.

Good morning. It is 19 right now but the real feel is 7 due to the wind. Temps are only going into the mid 20s and it will be windy today. We are expecting more snow on Thursday, not alot 1-3 inches. I plan to go into the office on Wed to avoid any slippery roads.
Yesterday was a stay in the condo day. I cleaned the rugs and they really needed it. I also did some other housework trying to keep busy. We ended up getting about 5 inches of snow, some freezing rain, and then some heavy rain in the afternoon. It is all frozen now. They did clear everything and hopefully put salt out. This winter has been enough already.

Off to work. Have a good day.

@Snowysmom Did you find the carpet cleaner easy to use? I love the fact that you don't have to keep holding a trigger down. Just push and go.

On Friday son in law was here and did a few smaller jobs for me. One of my outlets sparked and he was going to bring an electrician for me today. Canceled out last evening and will try for tomorrow. Old house and some plug receptacles that are behind furniture and not used haven't been changed recently. I went through every room and did a count plus decided to change out a ceiling light plus my backyard spot light hasn't worked in a while. I have a light on the deck but the spot is a separate motion detector one and I probably need to replace it.

We are expecting snow on 'maybe' Wed and Thurs. I'm heading for Florida and I'm trying to leave very early Wed. That will depend on what the hour by hour forecast is. If any snow is showing on my route during my drive, I'll pivot as I don't want to deal with anything frozen. That could mean leaving as early as tomorrow. We will see. Today will now be a busier day as I need to pack. Not too big of a deal as I have my list made and clothes are chosen. Since I'm always driving, I tend to over pack. Trying to cut back as I have washers and dryers available in my villas this time.

Booked a night in Hilton Head but if I leave early I'll have to book another night. Better safe than sliding around so no big deal.

@bobbiwoz and @flyingdumbo127 thinking of both of you.

Everybody else stay warm, dry and healthy!

Good windy morning. It's 29 and snowing like crazy out there, and the sun is out. The wind gusts have been awful, I'm very surprised we didn't lose power at all. They're supposed to end around noontime. Even the outdoor cats are in hiding and I had to find them to give them warm breakfast.

At least they say the storm they thought was going to get here on Wed/Thurs, is only going to give us an inch. I'm so tired of winter, I can't wait for next week when temps go back to the 50's.

I cleaned the kitchen yesterday and washed the floor. Watched some tv, and puttered around. Finished the chicken pot pie skillet I had made the other day.

Have a good day everyone
