Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Pea Glad you had some time away even if the weather wasn't the best. When the weather isn't great it is nice to take advantage of the low crowds in the park. The kids must have been so excited to be in Disney. How fun.

@luvthatduke Glad to see you visit here. We are all thinking about Mona and hope she is getting the help she needs to get better.

Lynn I remember you bought a rug cleaner in the past year or so. Could you let me know the make and model? I know you did a while ago but I can't find the post.

Good morning. It is 20 here now with temps heading to about 27. We are supposed to get some snow this week. My app says 2-3 inches of snow on Wed. I was not able to see grandkids this weekend but did videochat with Jeff's kids. They are so funny. They are enjoying basketball especially Ellie. She is so athletic. I did some housework like washing the wood floors. I felt a bit off yesterday with sinus issues and a sore throat so decided to take it easy for the afternoon. I am not as tired today but my throat is still a bit sore and sinuses hurt. I have run the humidfier. I wonder how much is indoor allergies. I want to get a rug cleaner and give my rugs a good cleaning. And everytime I go back to the gym for a few sessions it seems like I get sick. This particular gym has alot of what I call jocks and jockettes and they do not clean the equipment. I now only use the treadmill but it is the same. I wash it before I use and after but I think germs are just swirling around everywhere.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Mona & I have a friendship away from the boards & I hadn't heard from her.
I'm so glad I was "nudged" to check here.
I will continue to check here for any updates.
Please let her know that I've been praying for her and yes,
whatever happened to bring her to the hospital was a blessing.

I will keep you all in prayer, also.
Nice of you to stop by luvthatduke. I will tell her that you're sending her prayers the next time she texts me. I'm guessing she must still be in the hospital as I haven't heard from her since last week.

This is the one I bought from Walmart, and I love it!

Good sunny morning. 24 now heading for 45.

Saturday night I noticed the water pressure was low. Still low yesterday. Called neighbors on both sides, and same, low pressure. I tried calling the water dept. emergency line, got no answer.
This morning I was filling the bird feeder and there was a guy on the front porch of the house behind me, doing construction. He said he had low pressure too.
Then I saw him walk through my side yard and he knocked at the front door. He said yesterday he heard water pouring in the little blue house on the corner. A doctor owns a big house at the top of the hill, and he owns the little one at the bottom that he rents out.
I couldn't find their number, so I walked up their long long driveway and rang the bell. His wife has MS so it took her a little bit to get to the door. She asked me in and I told her the issue.

I had to walk past the skating rink that was in front of that house, and I could hear the water gushing inside the basement door. I saw it pouring out from the bottom of the doors too. She said her husband would be home shortly and he would shut the water off, that a pipe must have frozen and burst. But how could he have driven down the driveway, through the ice that was there, and the ice going down to the bottom of the street, and not stopped to see that it was coming directly from that house? That explains why the rest of us have such little water pressure. There are only 8 houses on this line so it affects all of us. I turned the washer on this morning and the water pipes were banging like crazy, and I panicked thinking I had a leak in my line.

Summer and SIL have finally stopped bothering me about that accident, thankfully, lol

Have a good day.

if she's still in the hospital

I've been thinking of this, and it's been on my mind. If she's still in there (or a PT facility or rehab) I wonder if she did more damage/hurt herself more by not getting to a Dr. sooner....it's been a very long time. Or if it's something else. Faith & self-paced long-term rest has it's place, but I'm sure glad she's being seen to by medical professionals who can help.

PollyannaMom Great idea to send a card to Mona. Thanks! Hope she is doing better and getting the care she needs.

Good morning. It is 31 degrees now and not getting to much warmer today but that is a good temp. Yesterday I had salt therapy and really relaxed enough to fall asleep for a few minutes. I came out feeling less stressed. I am working on my stress and anxiety this year. Deep breathing, mediation, qi gong, and other things have been helping. When working and I get stressed thinking of all I have to do I just remind myself I have so many hours to work and what doesn't get done today, there is always tomorrow. That helps alot and calms me down. This year I hope to make some good decisions, some big decisions, and get to a better place in life. The kids invited me to go to the Dogman movie with them and the grandkids this coming weekend. The older grandkids love the books. So I am going and will find out all about Dogman. LOL! I love to be with them all and this way I can find out all about the books they love.

Have a good day.

I got the feeling the medical insurance she has doesn’t cover much. This must have resulted in a real medical emergency for her to be in a hospital. I do hope and pray that they help her.

Good windy morning. Going to be 45 today, but we have high wind warnings. The snow is melting though, so that's a good thing.

Still no word from Mona. I sent her a card last week, and I text every couple of days, but so far no answer.

Off to get some cleaning done, take the trash down, and make a grocery list

Have a good day everyone

Supposed to go into the 50ties here today. I'm going out to loosen some ice at the bottom of one set of steps down from my deck. It has stayed pretty solid as it is shaded. Lucky for me and the dog we do have another set of steps more in the sun and it is clear at the bottom and I can go through the gate to put birdseed out.

In other rumors, I read that there is a bomb cyclone coming and that Maryland will be affected. I don't have any real details. We are supposed to stay warmer all week.

I like to look at falling snow but that's it.

My gutters have covers and I discovered that not only do they keep debris and leaves out, they hold snow on top and created ice dams. So far one area has been cleared of ice and the rest is staying until it melts which should happen this week. The area we had cleared is over my big window. Really don't need that messed up! The other areas have gotten a lot more direct sun so less impacted.

edit: to put this in perspective it's been quite a few years since my area had snow that actually covered the ground and stayed for more than a day or two.

@Judique, we only have a front door, and the melt off the roof falls and turns to ice right as my ramp ends and the small deck begins. I am so glad I missed last weeks extreme temperatures, because the gal who takes care of my indoor plants had a difficult time getting in out of our house. She’s less than 1/2 my age.

Anyway the snow is practically gone around our property, the ramp is safe. Our temperature right now is 40°….good enough for me!

It's 50 degrees here right now. I was out and checking stuff and realized there was a cap of ice I couldn't see on top of the big window. This was maybe 10 ft by 4 feet and about 3-4 inches thick. It was sort of hiding on me as I didn't look at it from out in the field where I might have realized it was there. Next year I will have heating cables installed but for now I had to get that out of there.

Went inside and got a portable heater I bought 6 years ago when we were having a new system installed. It ran for a little over half an hour and I heard a sound. (I'd placed it inside of the window.) Went out and it was partially over the edge but had not fallen. Got on a ladder on my deck and very carefully nudged it with the shovel. It came crashing to the ground. It could have killed anyone unaware of it if it had let go during a regular thaw! Definitely will need those heating cables next year! Meanwhile if we get any storms, we will have to use a snow broom to clear so there is no chance of heavy ice forming. Note, I had no icicles, which might have made it more noticeable.

Judique Glad you were able to take care of the ice. Careful on ladders please.

Thinking of Mona. Have a card ready to send.

Tazdev Hope your Dad is glad to be home and comfortable.

Good morning. It is 27 here right now and snowing lightly. We got about an inch of snow overnight and it should be ending soon. Temps are supposed to go up to 42 with the sun coming out today so a heat wave. Not much going on here. Yesterday was a frustrating day at work and at the grocery store. At work people just kept asking me questions while I was trying to get my work done. And at the grocery store people were just in the way all the time leaving their carriages in the middle of the aisle or right in front of my carriage and cutting me off. Usually Hannafords is uneventful. The parking lot was crazy too. I was glad to be out of there.

Have a good day.

@Snowysmom , I guess the prediction of snow made the grocery shoppers a bit frenzied. I hope you have a much better day today.

Tom goes for two MRI’s today. They are looking at two areas of interest. I visit a cardiologist later in the afternoon.

The potting material I need to repot amaryllis was frozen yesterday, so Tom brought it in for me. That’s what I’ll be doing this morning. I have about 8 of them, and they really need new soil.

Good day, everyone.

...and that the patient advocate at the hospital can finally get her set up with PCP!

Yeah, I don't know what was up yesterday - I let my errands run long and decided to stop at Market Basket on my way home to grab a roasted chicken, and they were completely out! It was a zoo.

Best of luck to you both!!

Good day, everyone.
I'm waiting for spring as I need to dig up and replant my day lilies around my patio circle. Then I'll be on deer watch trying to keep them from eating them. I also have a small tree stump to get rid off. I may dig around and see if I can do it myself. Too small to hire tree removal.

Amaryllis are not my strong suit. It was something I got gifted regularly when working and they would bloom for me in January. Then I would get busy and they would not survive.

I also want to plant a tree barrier at the way back part of my property. I back up to a couple of random businesses and one has decided that super bright lights are a good idea. They have probably been hit by theft, but not sure. Anyway, in the early morning when I sit in my window space they are bright in that direction. A few tall evergreens would take care of it. For this I'll have the nursery come and do the planting as I'll want much larger trees than I would buy for closer to the house. I had several evergreens back there in the early years, cedar trees but a storm took them and a hardwood tree out.

Good luck to Tom and the MRI results.
