The Redemption Reunion Tour - Mar 2025 (+2024 PTR) - (Updated 3/7 - Lightning Lanes)

I love the Suprise idea! So excited they are pumped your sister is coming. Auntie time is the best! My kids don't know they are going to Disney next month. My plan is to pick them up from school, and tell them we aren't going home. It will be tricky since I have to do my DD's DAS application/interview. Hopefully she won't put two and two together.

So excited for you trip and now it's this month!

Sister trips are very special. I know my girls enjoyed their sister trip last year. We have had a few Girls trips too. I can plan differently when it's just us girls.

Looking forward to your ADRs and everyone experiencing Flower & Garden. It's my favorite festival. M should enjoy looking for Spike the Bee. It's great that you'll get some extra time in MK by doing the After Hours. We're looking at doing one too when we go in March. We're waiting to find out if Danielle's schedule when be good for her to go with us.

I think you'll like having the 2 strollers. It worked really well for us in July. You can wheel both of them in the Sklyliner. It helped if we needed to split up too.

This surprises... no one.

:rotfl:

I'm betting you had another child just so you could put them in those clothes.

I’ll admit I wasn’t disappointed to be having another girl… it’s been great to reuse all those clothes! The fact that we’re taking another Disney trip at just the right time is a bonus! :goodvibes

Aww the sweetest surprise!! So exciting how close your trip is getting!

Thank you! M is very excited.

Today we just have eleven days to go! I’m actually very on top of things (even packing!), but it hit me this morning that I have less than two weeks and I feel anxious about having enough time to finish things!

I love the Suprise idea! So excited they are pumped your sister is coming. Auntie time is the best!

Thank you! It was really fun to surprise her and Anika was thrilled that M was so excited about her coming. Auntie Anika is SUPER pumped about this trip and seeing the girls experience Disney.

My kids don't know they are going to Disney next month. My plan is to pick them up from school, and tell them we aren't going home. It will be tricky since I have to do my DD's DAS application/interview. Hopefully she won't put two and two together.

So fun! I’d originally imagined something along those lines (although likely telling M the night before as we have a VERY early flight on our arrival day). My husband wasn’t excited about that plan and he thought M wouldn’t do as well with a last-minute surprise, so a surprise a month before was a compromise. It’s been fun to talk about the trip with M, though, so I’m not too disappointed about it.

Your kids are still pretty young I bet you can get away with it. If she’s suspicious perhaps you could explain that you have to maintain the DAS status in order to take a future trip? (Which is true - she just won’t know how close in the “future” it is!)

So excited for you trip and now it's this month!

Thank you - just eleven days to go! :hyper:

Sister trips are very special. I know my girls enjoyed their sister trip last year. We have had a few Girls trips too. I can plan differently when it's just us girls.

They are indeed. My sister and I shared three trips alone together (in 2012, 2013, and 2015) and had the BEST time. I agree that planning is different with our girls’ group than it was last year with my husband. I’m excited that my sister is more excited about eating snacks!

I’ve been to Flower and Garden twice but Anika has never been to a festival. I’ve never been to another festival (hopefully one day!) but perhaps Flower and Garden would still remain my favorite. I LOVE all the flowers and displays - Epcot is so beautiful. We skipped out on the scavenger hunt last year but I think M would enjoy it this time!

I’m SO excited about After Hours! I love wandering around a Disney park at night and Magic Kingdom is especially fun at night. I’m excited for another chance to ride Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Peter Pan, and Space Mountain, too. I’m very grateful to my sister for giving me the opportunity to attend. I hope you get a chance to go later this month - fingers crossed that Danielle’s schedule agrees with your plans!

I think you'll like having the 2 strollers. It worked really well for us in July. You can wheel both of them in the Sklyliner. It helped if we needed to split up too.

Honestly, I’m really looking forward to having two strollers! The ease on the Skyliner (folding the double was a pain in the keister) and the ability to split up is exactly why I elected for two singles over a double. It was nice to have breaks from pushing the stroller last time, but it’s certainly easier to push a single stroller!

Do It Before It's Gone!
Park Must-Dos

We have just ten days to go until our trip!

I’ve crossed more items off of my list – I bought new jeans, bought new sandals for M, and called Disney to add our room requests to their reservation notes. I also added notes to my phone for the must-try snacks, breakfast options, and show and character meet times for each park. I know the show and character times are available in MDE, but sometimes it’s easier to see at a glance rather than looking at each attraction or character.

I also have a list of must-try and like-to-try foods for the Flower and Garden Food Booths – there are SO many tasty-looking things! My sister downloaded the free guide from the Disney Food Blog, so I think she’s pretty excited about the food booths, too.

Along with all our must-try foods, I also want a game plan for our must-dos in the park.

Instead of a comprehensive must-do list for each park, I want to highlight the big must-dos that are extra important on this trip. These include things we missed in 2024, new attractions or experiences for Anika or M, and, most importantly, the attractions that are disappearing to make room for new things.

Magic Kingdom

We’ll certainly ride our usual favorites including Haunted Mansion and Carousel of Progress (me), Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (M), and Dumbo and It’s a Small World (L). But a few we missed last time include…

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was still behind construction walls during our last visit so it will be new to all of us. We're all excited to try it!

2beeae15-68da-4995-8c9f-25ca8b34db28.png

I missed the Peoplemover last time (!). The girls rode it with G while I tried Tron, but I missed my late night in Magic Kingdom and therefore missed my extra chance to ride it. This is a favorite of mine and a definite must-do!

ab5f0bf9-6d61-4ad8-9011-de40b40ad0f1.png

We also missed the Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor last trip. I think the girls (especially M) would love it:

55122153-fb8b-4d8f-928b-66ea5c636388.png

Another “new to the girls” ride is Barnstormer, as last time L wasn’t tall enough and M elected to skip it. I’m interested to see what L thinks of her first roller coaster!

I also want to prioritize the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Thanks to the heat and our breaks, this is another thing we missed last time. With the cooler weather and our plan to have “break” time in the parks, I want to catch it this time:

7ee74959-5758-48d3-9ff8-0a03966462c0.png

We may also ride the Liberty Square Riverboat for the last time and may try Tom Sawyer’s Island for the first time. Both of these will disappear soon to make way for Carsland so we should try them while they’re still there.

Another thing we skipped last time was wandering through the Emporium. I’m not a big shopper, but it’s such a cool store that I’d love to spend a little time there.

Epcot

Don’t worry, we still plan to shrink down to rat size to ride Remy and will see the non-leaning Eiffel Tower on Soarin’, but there are a few things we missed here, too.

The girls were feeling sick on our second Epcot day so they missed walking through Journey of Water. I think they’ll both love it, so this is a must-do:

New to both M and Anika will be Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. I rode it one time last year and LOVED it – Anika should enjoy it and M is excited to see Groot:

4c05f13d-328f-4b22-bac9-34d63b1579b7.png

I’m excited to see more of the topiaries, get more Photopass pictures, and enjoy more food from the Flower and Garden food booths. Epcot is so beautiful during the Flower and Garden Festival!

9072da38-6bc4-4af3-a12b-b03f8ab83aa9.png

I also would love to do more exploring in the World Showcase. We explored the Mexico pavilion and rode Frozen Ever After and Remy, but that was most of our World Showcase wandering last time. We'll also have to introduce Anika to Frozen Ever After (the girls would hate to miss it). I love the World Showcase and look forward to more time there!

Finally, we don’t have any character meals planned with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, or Goofy, so we’ll likely take time to meet them at Epcot (or another park, if need be). L seems potentially more interested in characters this time (we’ll see!) and identifies Mickey, Minnie, and Donald the most. Goofy is a must-do for me – he’s my favorite!

Hollywood Studios

We caught many of our must-dos in the Studios last time (thanks to a last-minute plan change where M and I rode two attractions by ourselves) and there are several we’re looking forward to doing again. M is SUPER PUMPED to ride Slinky Dog and Star Tours again (she loved Star Tours more than Rise! ) and I can’t wait for another ride on both Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror (which M is excited about, too).

Many things will be new to Anika, so we’ll be sure to show her Toy Story Land, Galaxy’s Edge, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway:

b73a1f85-4da8-47c5-b493-0ed4c8020f8e.png

Anika adored The Great Movie Ride so I imagine she'll be sad about its absence... but I think she'll enjoy the replacement, too.

We missed Smuggler’s Run last time so we’ll try to make time for that.

Most importantly for me, though, is our last chance to experience Muppet 3-D:

55cd26ea-f6af-4ffd-837e-1b94b126e726.png

I’m a HUGE Muppets fan and was crushed when I heard they were closing Muppets courtyard. I think Monstropolis will be amazing, but I’m sad they chose to do away with the Muppets to include Monster's Inc.

We actually missed this last time (!) so this is an even more important must-do. M and I were waiting for the show when we got an urgent text from my husband and had to abandon the show. Not this time! I intend to take in every last detail (I’ll have M find the key under the mat again) and watch as much of the pre-show as possible. If we can see it twice… I might. :goodvibes

Onto happier must-dos, another thing we missed last time was Fantasmic:

ab852b54-61ee-407f-8e7e-17a4681ae716.png

This may again get the axe in our plans (it’s on our last full park day and we may be tired), but we’ve given ourselves a good shot with our Fantasmic Dining Package at Sci-Fi Dine-In.

Animal Kingdom

We accomplished most of our must-do rides at Animal Kingdom last time, but we missed many of the “extra” attractions that make Animal Kingdom special.

Anika will love seeing Pandora for the first time and M can’t wait to ride Flight of Passage again:

8e10e78d-a517-406d-8f1e-47dbcdc3d09f.png

We’ll see if we can get M to try Expedition Everest (she decided to skip it last time), but Anika and I will definitely ride it:

553d5358-e9a8-4eb0-829b-4a2ec7ab7416.png

There are two disappearing attractions at Animal Kingdom, including one that closes the day after our visit. I didn't realize this when I planned our park days, but I'm glad we'll get a chance to catch it while it's still there. (Fingers crossed Animal Kingdom won’t be extra crowded that day because of it!)

I must admit I’m looking forward to the Zootopia attraction, but will be sad to don my bug glasses for the last time:

4d481be9-cf82-4865-80ba-9c644bd1cb0a.png

Hopefully there aren’t too many influencers heading to It’s Tough to Be a Bug Along with us. I know it’s not as popular as Splash Mountain, but I remember the pictures of lines outside the Country Bears Jamboree before the re-do… so who knows?!

Another absolute must-do is Dinosaur:

ff81ca39-1946-4864-a368-4cb2a4ed2005.png

M rode this with G last time, but M wasn't interested in riding it again immediately and I missed coming back to it. We’ll try this after early entry this time so Anika and I can trade off time in the Boneyard with L while M gets two (final) rides on Dinosaur.

Thankfully they’re not going anywhere, but we missed every single nature trail last time. I love both of them (particularly the Maharajah Jungle Trek in Asia) and want to catch at least one this time. If we have extra time, I think the girls would like the train ride to Rafiki’s Planet Watch as well.

I’m undecided which Broadway-style show to see at Animal Kingdom. Finding Nemo is my favorite and is what we saw last time, but the girls may enjoy Festival of the Lion King. We’ll see what we pick!

There are two characters that M was SUPER sad that we missed last time, so a meet with Dug and Russell is a must. We may also try to catch Moana if we missed her at Epcot and perhaps Rafiki and Timon if we make it back to Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

I’m thankful we have six days of park tickets to hit many of these must-dos. It’s hard to believe we’ll be in Disney World in just ten days!

Coming soon!
Your “must dos” look good. :)

Now just seven days to go!

And thank you! I hope we get to do most of them!

Single digits!! SOOO exciting! How is the weather looking!?

Now just seven days! :goodvibes

The weather is looking... warm. I swear Florida sees me coming and says,"hey, we better crank up the temperatures!"

It's actually not too bad - the first few days show highs in the low- to mid-eighties. Weather.com is showing slightly warmer temperatures but I think it's hard to predict well this many days out. At least it shouldn't feel like 100 degrees like our last visit!

I’m a Lightning Lane Wizard
Booking Lightning Lanes

Today we have seven days until our trip… which means it was lightning lane booking day!

I had my alarm set for 5:45, but somehow I was lucky enough to wake up at 4:30. Yippee. I tossed and turned for a bit and finally gave up around 5:00.

I did a decent job of scoring lightning lanes with the Genie+ system, but of course, Lightning Lane Multi-Pass (LLMP) is a whole different deal. I was nervous about booking things at good times and also in an order that reduced crisscrossing across the park. I watched Mammoth Club videos about lightning lanes on YouTube to calm my nerves – I was ready!

Six o’clock hit (7:00 a.m. Eastern time) and I was off and running! As per recommendations from Mammoth Club and Disney Tourist Blog, I booked Hollywood Studios first followed by Magic Kingdom and then Epcot and Animal Kingdom. I booked the LLMP for each park day as well as LLSP for all the “fancy” rides. Cutting wait times with small kids (and impatient adults – meaning me! ) is 100% worth it to me.

One thing to note that is completely bizarre – it seems we’re visiting on several of the best days of March as our lightning lane prices were some of the least expensive of the month. I was pleasantly surprised as I was fully expecting the highest prices due to Spring Break season. As an example, prices for Magic Kingdom are $35-39 for the rest of the month… except for five of the six days we’re there when the price is listed as $29. Whoo-hoo! :woohoo:

Frankly, I’m excited to pay less but I’m even more hopeful that our crazy crowds will only be moderately crazy. We’re likely to pick up more lightning lanes (and at better times) come park day if the crowds aren’t nuts.

There are a few times I wouldn’t mind tweaking slightly, but we’d also be fine to keep them as-is. I was able to move things around before purchasing to get the best possible times and experiences upfront. I’m especially proud of our Hollywood Studios day – the “hardest” park has our best times for three great attractions!

The only time that is less than desirable is our nighttime Seven Dwarfs Mine Train LLSP (single pass). The only time that was available post-fireworks was 9:30-10:00 so that’s what I chose. I’m hoping I can move it up a bit although it seems times are never available between 8:00 and 9:30 based on my examining other days. M wants the chance to ride this in the dark and post-fireworks is our only shot. We’ll see what I can do!

Our schedule is firming up now that lightning lanes are booked. Here are our plans for each day…

Friday, March 14
We arrive at the Sanford Airport and will take our private transportation to Art of Animation. If our room is ready (unlikely, but you never know!) we’ll unpack slightly before heading out. If it’s not, we’ll set up the stroller and may change clothes before catching the Skyliner to Epcot. I’d love to stop at Riviera on our way and grab lunch at Primo Piatto – that chicken sandwich and parmesan herbed fries are calling my name!

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 12:50 – Mission Space
  • 1:55 – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • 2:55 – Spaceship Earth
  • 5:10 – Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (earlier times were available, but I picked this to coincide with dinner time)

We’ll spend our afternoon riding attractions in the old Future World and end our day in World Showcase. We’ll ride Remy and grab dinner from various Flower and Garden Food Booths. I think we’ll head out early as we’ll have a very early morning and big plans the next day!

Saturday, March 15
Today is our first Magic Kingdom day! We have an early breakfast ADR at Cinderella’s Royal Table and will spend our morning and early afternoon experiencing attractions. We’ll catch the Festival of Fantasy Parade and then take a break on the monorail loop. I’d like to eat at the Polynesian – we’ll try for a walkup spot at Wailulu Bar & Grill (the menu looks so good!) with Capt. Cook’s as a backup.

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 9:40 – Haunted Mansion
  • 10:55 – Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (a favorite of M’s)
  • 5:30 – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
  • 9:30pm – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

We’ll head to Magic Kingdom for a few more attractions before checking in for our dessert party. I’m debating switching Tiana’s for another Tier 1 attraction (possibly Peter Pan?), but will keep it for now. After our dessert party and watching the fireworks in the reserved garden, we’ll head back to Fantasyland to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the dark and then head out.

Sunday, March 16
It’s Animal Kingdom today, which is my second favorite park. It would be nice to arrive for early entry (at 7:30), but that may not happen with our late night the day before. Thankfully with lightning lanes and a full day in the park we should still be able to do everything we’d like even without early entry.

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 8:45 – Kilimanjaro Safaris
  • 9:50 – Expedition Everest
  • 10:50 – Na’vi River Journey
  • 11:50 – Flight of Passage

Our safari time will work well even with a later arrival – we’ll have until 10:00 to use it thanks to the grace period. Our lineup will also put us in Pandora around lunchtime – hello, Satu’li Canteen! We’ll spend the rest of the afternoon experiencing attractions, including the near-departing Dinosaur and It’s Tough to Be a Bug. We may try for a brief rest at Nomad Lounge before heading to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. After exploring the lodge and eating at Sanaa we’ll head back for an early night at the resort.

Monday, March 17
We’re heading back to Magic Kingdom today. Our early night should set us up well for rope drop – early entry starts at 8:30. We’ll choose attractions based on what we missed on our first day and then knock out our lightning lanes before going to 1900 Park Fare for brunch.

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 9:15 – Haunted Mansion
  • 9:55 – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
  • 10:45 – Pirates of the Caribbean
  • 1:40 – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • 2:40 – TRON (Anika)
  • 8:50 – TRON (Jenny)

We’ll return from the Grand Floridian for more attractions. We have another chance to catch the Festival of Fantasy parade and Auntie Anika will try TRON. We’ll grab dinner from the park before I help Anika get the girls back to Art of Animation.

I’ll turn right around and head back to Magic Kingdom – it’s my solo After Hours night! I hope to get to the park by 8:00 so I can get past the crowds before the fireworks start at 8:30. I’ll ride TRON and enjoy the Carousel of Progress before my special event begins. I’m so excited to enjoy time at night at the Magic Kingdom!

Tuesday, March 18
Our last full day is at Hollywood Studios. This was somewhat strategic to give us better lightning lanes – and boy, did that work! We’ll arrive for early entry (I’ll be pretty tired but everyone else will have an early night the night before) and hopefully knock out Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. We’ll do either Tower of Terror or Toy Story Mania next if there’s time left for early entry. Then it’s time to knock out lightning lanes and make our way around the park (with some tasty breakfast at Woody’s Lunchbox along the way).

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 9:15 – Slinky Dog Dash (!)
  • 10:10 – Toy Story Mania
  • 10:55 – Tower of Terror
  • 1:10 – Rise of the Resistance

We’ll grab lunch from a quick service spot (Docking Bay 7, Woody’s, and ABC Commissary are all likely possibilities) and then enjoy our afternoon in Galaxy’s Edge and other areas of the park. M was concerned that I didn’t prebook Star Tours, but I reassured her we’d be able to pick up another lightning lane. We’ll have an early dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In, finish off any remaining attractions, and then watch Fantasmic to end our day.

Wednesday, March 19
Our last Disney Day. We’ll pack up the room and get the luggage to bell services before boarding the skyliner to Epcot. I’d love to get there for early entry for another ride on Remy, but with our lightning lane on our first day we can be flexible.

Lightning Lanes Booked:

  • 9:05 – Frozen Ever After
  • 10:15 – Living with the Land
  • 10:35 – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • 11:10 – Spaceship Earth

After riding Remy (or arriving at the park) we’ll head to Norway to ride Frozen Ever After and meet the famous sisters. Then we’ll head into the old Future World to finish remaining attractions. Spaceship Earth may need to be bumped to make it to our lunch, but we’ll ride it our first day so that’s okay. We’ll enjoy lunch at Via Napoli and some more time (and snacks) in World Showcase before heading out mid-afternoon. We’ll return to Art of Animation to collect our bags from bell services and catch our transportation to the airport. We have an evening flight out of Sanford and will arrive home after 9:00 our time.

I feel pretty good about our daily plans and feel GREAT about our lightning lanes. It’s so nice to have that big item crossed off my list!

Now I just have packing and a few odds and ends to go. It's hard to believe we'll be in Epcot one week from today!
:goodvibes

Nice score!

Although seeing Pooh booked threw me for a second. ;)

So exciting!! Your plans look so fun! We will still be in the stage of going back to the room for naps and not staying out too far past bedtime when we bring our littles for their first trip in May, and part of me is so envious of plans like yours! We will get there someday tho 😊
Have an amazing trip!

:goodvibes

Okay, not really… but I felt like one when I managed this lineup of attractions! I mean, a 9:15 Slinky Dog, and 9:05 Frozen Ever After, and a 9:55 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?! I was so excited. :thumbsup2

Is someone just a wee bit excited???

That is very possible.

Nice score!

It was great luck - I’ll take it! I still spent almost $700 for the three of us for six days (including all the single passes), but it would’ve been even more just a few days later!

Plans look good. :)
Although seeing Pooh booked threw me for a second. ;)

Thanks! I’m very happy with how they shaped up.

Also . I didn’t think we needed two sets of Haunted Mansion/Pirates for Tier 2 and Pooh tends to get pretty busy… M was THRILLED when she saw it on the list. We’ll miss early entry that day so it will be nice to bypass the 30-40 minute line. :goodvibes

Have an amazing trip!

Thanks! I’m super excited with how they turned out.

That was us on our last trip! We left the park every afternoon between 1:00ish and 2:00ish and headed back to the room for L to nap. (Honestly, it was nice for the rest of us too as it was unusually hot during our visit last May.) We would return between 4:30 and 5:30 and then leave before 8:00. We did have two planned late nights at MK for fireworks and HS for Fantasmic but only made it to the former. The MK fireworks were a must-do for me but I was okay skipping the others (although I caught Luminous thanks to some brief solo park time when we were at Beach Club - it was a nice treat!).

Now L no longer naps (my kids apparently become allergic to naps once they turn two! ) so it will be nice to have the extra flexibility. We’ll have a better chance to see the Festival of Fantasy parade this time (the noon time never worked for us and we were gone by 3:00) and will still plan for some park or nearby resort downtime each day. We also will be back to the room around 7:00 on three nights of our trip (Friday, Sunday, and the girls on Monday) so the early bedtimes should help with stamina. Hopefully I’ll be able to use adrenaline and caffeine to get through our Hollywood Studios day after my late night at Magic Kingdom After Hours.

And yes, you will get there someday. Time flies and it will happen sooner than you think! :goodvibes You’ll still have an amazing time - Disney World is magical for little kids.

Well, you're certainly more of a pro at it than I am! I've never booked anything with the new system.
Not too concerned... by the time I get to Disney again, I'm sure there'll be an entirely new system to learn!
That is very possible.

:faint:

That's... frankly, obscene. $700... That's more than a 10 day park hopper ticket! Ridiculous. :sad2:

Oh, I get it. You've got a Pooh ride fan on your hands. You couldn't not get it. ::yes::

Yesss that’s exactly how our trip will be! Lol
Im excited for you that you get to avoid the long naps but still get a little time outside of the parks midday! Your trip will hopefully be nicer weather than last May. Hoping this May its not unseasonably hot but also hoping for lots of pool time.
Im lucky my oldest (2.5) still naps but it makes for such a late bedtime. I’m actually a bit excited for when he does drop the nap as it will push bedtime up!

Hopped over here and am seeing that you just finished your trip! Hope you had a magical time and was able to enjoy the cooler temperatures. I also really hope your MK After Hours evening went great!
