It's gonna snow today and it's only gonna be 1-2 inches but apparently thats enough to close schools 2 hours early lmao.

Don't get me started on that....in my area of MD they are canceling after school stuff today because we have the chance of 0.5 of a inch possibly later this evening. When did we become so - excuse the pun - frozen by the potential a bit of snow????
I've just had to issue a statement to all the employees in our MD office to relax, Monday we may get 1-3" and we will plow the parking lot & salt the sidewalks, it's not Armageddon! Sorry - the drama folks (in my office) engage in over a bit of winter weather in -ahem- a place were it's winter!!! gets on my last nerve sometimes.

Anywho - have a good weekend everyone. No great plans on tap for us, maybe going to the movies. Husband brought home one of those large Solo stoves the other day, so maybe we will give that a try. Only a man with a pellet stove, a wood burning fireplace & two other outdoor purpose-built fire pits would add another one...well, at least it's slate blue & matches my house

Good morning. It is 23 here with temps only going up to 30. Today is Ethan's kid birthday party at a place with bowling and video games. They will also have pizza and cake. I will make an appearance for a little while. Once they get to the video game area I am done. It is a crowded noisy place with kids running around like crazy. Snow days are crazy around here too. All there has to be is a forecast of a few inches of snow and school is canceled. And sometimes the snow doesn't materialize. My kids only had snow days when there was a lot of snow or it was snowing heavily in the morning. Now they cancel the night before sometimes.

Off to Hannafords. I also have to change the bed, clean the bathrooms, and other misc housework.

I enjoyed overall watching a Hallmark movie Tis the Season to be Irish. I really liked Sean's (male love interest to Rose) mom, Mary. I also cheered for Rose's friends at the Inn where she was staying. Of course Lambchop the lamb who was a loyal dog of sorts to Rose was adorable.

Later yesterday was harder for me. Grace of God I got some good sleep and am feeling better. Have a good day, friends.

Good morning, well it's morning anyhow. It's 22 degrees, going up 2 degrees. Wind warnings for gust of 40+ today. Snow tomorrow night, 3-5 and 1-3 on Monday.

I was on the phone with my friend in CO around midnight when Summer called me. I knew something was wrong by the lateness of the call. She had to call 911 and an ambulance for Gracie. She was in so much pain she was screaming. (her stomach). They got her to the ER, and an hour later gave her an IV for pain and nausea. Summer texted me on and off through all of this. They did a CAT scan to see if it was her stomach or her kidneys, nothing showed up. At 3: 45 she tells me that they're going to put her on a heart monitor because her BP was extremely low (that would have nothing to do with her pain). 15 minutes later she texts me and says they're going home. They said it was a flare-up of her ongoing condition (Summer says she's never seen Gracie in so much pain before), and that the doctor has 'no concerns'. No concerns, really? Someone had better have some concerns.

It was 5 am before I finally fell asleep and woke up at 8. Now I'm having issues with Amazon again and I'm getting fed up with it. I have called with complaints 5x this week alone. Now I can't get the OTP code by text to sign in, I have to have them call me, it's inconvenient for me. I spent 45 minutes on the phone and they tell me they have to send the complaint to an account agent and it will take them 24 hours to figure out the issue. I guarantee the issue is on their end and not mine, because I got the text to verify my account with no issue, so I know my phone # is correct. I'm missing a pkg they claim was delivered yesterday, and I have 3 coming tomorrow, yet only 2 of them have shipped.

So, my day hasn't started well. I'm going to start up the car and let it run to keep the battery charged in this cold, and then brush the snow off and put the car cover on. I'm not going anywhere until at least Wednesday from the sound of it, lol

Lynn So scary for Summer and Gracie. And the doctor in the ER has no concerns? Can they go to a different doctor other than the one they have been seeing? Obviously the doctor is missing something important. I like the Winnie the pooh saying. It is so true! LOL!

Wow can’t believe it’s the 4th already! Hope everyone’s well, or getting better if ill or sad, etc.

@footballmouse I just had to comment on the Gilmore Girls. We watched the whole series a couple of years ago. I honestly don’t know why because, like you, there were times I really didn’t like the show, either. I guess I kept hoping it was going to get better. Did not like a lot of the characters. But stuck it out. Probably one of my least favorite series ever! DD had watched it and loved it and has the pj’s and GG merch and stuff, but I’m all set, lol.

We are on the last season of Outlander and I am really sad that will be ending. We watched all of The Crown and loved it (though I wish they just kept the same actors throughout instead of changing them as they aged). We saw several seasons of All Creatures Great and Small but haven’t been able to get the last two, so we’re behind on that. We also started re-watching St Elsewhere (80s, but a lot we can relate to) I think we’re still on Season 1 but the seasons were long then. We still have some Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman episodes to watch (love that). DD has other things she watches with her bf every night even if they watch remotely together. Dr Pol is still my favorite and I often have that on in the background at home.

Things are coming along in apt. Countertops went in and they are really pretty with a nice sparkle. Bedroom set got delivered and has to be assembled, they’ll work on that tomorrow. (A lot of having to hang around and wait for deliveries and work people. ) A lot of other furniture and accessories got delivered I guess we’ll deal with those one by one. DH put some of those together today while putting XMas stuff away too. I think the backsplash is going up Thursday. We still have to get the cabinet handles on. Sink looks nice. And have to get the undercounter lighting up. Really love the floors and planning to do them on our side in March. It will be a big job.

Had to order a tire from WalMart was half expecting the delay note then cancellation but it came today without issue.

I haven’t had any issues with Amazon thankfully, we’ve been getting several items a day delivered.

We made this the other night and it was so good. It was a lot of work but worth it.

Walmart sent the same lady this afternoon that they sent this morning. She has no idea why they wouldn't let her take both orders this morning, they were right next to each other. I stripped and remade the bed, took a shower and did my hair. Making a fricassee with some of the pork from New Years and then quitting for the day.

After I complained to Amazon this morning, both orders showed as shipped 30 minutes later. Whether they arrive tomorrow or not is the question.

Summer said Gracie didn't wake up complaining that she was in pain and that they both slept most of the day.
Winds are picking up again, supposed to be 16 with wind chills way below zero tonight. I'll be hibernating tomorrow if this keeps up.

Good morning all. I have popped in and read but popped out just as quickly. T

The holidays were OK. After Christmas was the mad rush to plan the New Year's Eve party my granddaughter decided I should have. Per normal I had way too much food. And way too much food means I will be sick, and I was. My stomach has never liked a mixture of everything and rebels.

We were supposed to go to Lancaster yesterday for my daughter's 40th birthday. I can't believe I have 2 kids in their 40's now and my baby will soon be 38. When did they get so old because I haven't aged at all LOL. She worked 18 hours due to a co-worker calling out because of a family emergency. She got a great birthday present though - someone rear ended her when she went to pick up her birthday dinner. Thankfully she is ok as is her car. The guy that hit her wasn't paying attention and never realized traffic had stopped for a red light. His car took the worst of it. We would love to know how far he got as he damaged his radiator and drove off anyway after exchanging information.

It got very cold here, only 24 degrees right now and staying cold. We are expected to get snow tonight. The weather has put off the siding getting done since the wind and frigid temps aren't helping. The doors and windows got replaced after Christmas so at least that is now done and looks great although I am still adjusting to the difference and how bright the sun gets in the Living Room during the day. We should be starting the next phase soon - the basement.

Not much else going on around here.

Good morning. It is 26 here with temps heading into the 30s. Yesterday was a fairly quiet day. I woke up not feeling great but just figured it was going to go away. It didn't and I am dealing with a bad cold. I didn't go to Ethan's party as I did not want to give it to anyone and I was so tired and headachy that I did not have the energy to go. Kenny had enough help and told me not to come. Jeff's DS Luke has strep. He has been sick since Thursday. He is starting to feel better. So much going around these days. I did go to Wegman's this morning to get produce that I needed. The wore me out so I am taking it easy for a bit. I hope to get some more housework done in stages. I ordered some organizing containers from Amazon for the kitchen and bathroom. I want to get my bathroom counter more streamlined by putting the toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, and mouth rinse in a container in one spot. Then for the kitchen I got a spice rack and a container for the dooby pad, dishwashing soap, and hand soap. It will make it easier to clean the areas too.

Good morning. Bright sunshine, blue skies, less wind, and the temp is 16 now, going to 32. The storm forecast has me confused. The Weather Channel says it's now a storm warning, but for my area, it says 1-3" . I'm from New England originally and 3" of snow isn't considered a storm, it's considered light snow. Then it says, for parts of WV, Washington, and Eastern Allegany, 6-9" of snow, possibly 12 or more in heavy bands. I'm not in any of those area's, but I find it hard to believe that being in the gulley between the mountains that we're only going to get 3". I don't know whether to prepare for 3" that I can easily shovel, or 6- whatever that's going to take me 2 days and kill my back.

I was planning on going to sleep early last night, but my friend in CO and I were talking on the phone and she suddenly got news that the man she considered to be her second father had just passed away. She was a mess, and we stayed on the phone for a long time, while she recounted a lot of good memories she had of him. So it was almost 3 when I went to bed again.

Laundry is in, no other chores need to be done. I may go down and go through the rest of the totes and throw more stuff away and put the rest in the clear totes I got.

Good morning. It is a chilly 18 degrees here with temps only going to 30. At least it is supposed to be sunny. I am still under the weather with this cold. Yesterday I chilled a bit in between chores. Jeff's DS Luke is feeling better. Antibiotics work wonders. Kenny's kids are doing well so far this winter. I have all the shore excursions booked for the cruise in June. My friend and I agreed on what we wanted to do. I got the restaurant reservation we wanted for the free perk we got for booking early. Now we wait. It feels strange not to have a Disney trip booked for this year but I just can't fit it in with work and my other trips. Maybe it will be my retirement trip that I can do in 2026.

Cold here too. (I think I may leave the outdoor lights up a few extra days. ) I bought a thing to cover the hose hookup, but it has no instructions - oh well, I'm sure there's a video on YouTube that will show me how to attach it.

Our remaining cat is having some trouble "going" outside of the box. We're not sure if she's just upset about losing her sister or if there is something medical going on. I had her at the vet Saturday, and they gave her a B-12 shot to calm her tummy a bit, but I'm waiting to hear on other test results today.

Buuurrrr chilly out. Beautiful snowy morning out, sounds like it's sticking around most of the day & into this evening. No problem getting into the office, but it's a straight shot for me and only about 5 minutes. We've gotten about 4" so far, so not exactly a massive snow storm!
Still, I had to close the office /do WFH for both our offices as it's going to snow all day.
Pups were less than thrilled to go out this morning, my big guy went straight back to bed
