Happy Friday!:jester:

The weather has been beautiful in the afternoons.:sunny:

Not much going on. Went to the grocery store after work yesterday, my normal 2 week grocery haul. I've been very proud of myself this week, I haven't stopped for take-out all week and I've cut down on buying lunch at work. I work nightshift this weekend so I'm determined not to order out, I'm going to make taco meat for taco salads this weekend.🌮

Rumor has it that our L&D docs are signing a contract with another hospital. If they leave, then we'll most likely close ☹️. It would only leave us with 2 doctors. Not happy about this 😡. I think it's going to be very hard to find a weekend job making the same amount of money. I'm already stressing about it. Afraid to jump ship too early or then not being prepared and wait too long. It will definitely be the topic of discussion this weekend :chat:. If it's not one thing, it's another when it comes to my life.

I have to return a couple of things from Amazon. I'll do that on my to work tonight. I bought a mesh "tent" for the baby bed in my spare room. I'm tired of the cats laying in the bed so this should keep them out 😺. I bought the wrong size, the new one came yesterday so I'll work on that when I wake up tomorrow afternoon. I also bought a new pair of earbuds. Really liked the ones I had but I couldn't find them. Figured I dropped them somewhere so I ordered another of the same kind. Guess what I found Tuesday in my lunchbag? Yep, the original earbuds. Returning the new pair since I no longer need them.

Have a great weekend!

Good morning. Come on Mother Nature, it's only 38 degrees outside at 9:30 in the morning. Going to be 64 later. Too earlly for it to be quite this brisk in the mornings.

@Snowysmom The crazy thing is that this IS her gyn. Telling her there's nothing they can do for her. I think this is the third doctor they've been to for this same issue, and no one can seem to do anything. Telling her they don't give meds to regulate hormones is crazy, what do they think birth control pills do?

It never rains but it pours in Summer's world. Not only does Lily have pcos, but her husband is laid off, and both of her vehicles have issues (the same 2 I paid to have repaired earlier this year). Her 'good' car, is having transmission issues. That's the same car her mother loaned her money to have a new one put in 2 years ago. She was almost home the other day when the car starting making noises like it was shifting gears, and she could only drive at 5 mph. The other one is the truck, which had 2 flat tires. She keeps putting air and they keep going flat. She managed to get them inflated to take to the tire place yesterday to see if they could fix them or if they needed to be replaces. Turns out they needed new valve stems, one needed a patch. Somehow she picked up a nail in the 2 miles between her house and the place. She also had to jump start the truck since it's been sitting for 3 months, and when she got to the repair place they had to jump it again to get it into the garage. So now she needs a new battery too. I paid for the tire repair, and told her I'll pay for the battery, but as for the car with the transmission, she's on her own this time. I can't keep doing it, I have bills of my own.

I'm going to wash the kitchen floor and clean the bathrooms today and that's the extent of it.

Have a good day

Lynn I thought they prescribed birth control pills to help with PCOS. They need a different doctor. I feel bad for all the tough luck Summer and her family has had. You are kind to help out where you can but as you said, you have bills to pay too.

Flyingdumbo127 Good thoughts and prayers for your father. I hope he rests and feels better soon.

Footballmouse Sorry to hear about your weekend job. It is never easy to decide when to look elsewhere. Timing is everything.

Good morning all.

My aunt and cousins thankfully are OK. My aunt went to stay with my one cousin in the area who is a little further inland. Her house has lakes nearby. She did call her complex manager and he said her house looked OK. We haven't heard from my one cousin beyond he's "fine." No mention of how his house fared so I'm hoping it's ok.

@lynxstch - my granddaughter has PCOS. We have been through the ups and downs with it. The one thing they will do is prescribe birth control. Crystal also has bleeding issues from it and they think it is fibroids which are part of the issue so she is on a second medication now to regulate her hormones. I would find suggest a new doctor if that is the attitude. There are things that can be done to alleviate the symptoms.

Not much going on around here. Going out to start seeking donations for the church tea before I get Ella from school. My grandson is cleaning out the basement tomorrow so there is a dumpster out front. There is a lot of junk to be gotten rid of, probably 98% of what is down there. I haven't been in the basement for at least 5 years, probably longer, so if I haven't needed it before now I doubt I'll need it later. Once the basement is cleared out we can start looking at getting the materials for the decks. I may be nearing the end of all the renovations on the house finally.

Hope you all have a nice afternoon

Good afternoon, friends. Just caught up! Been busy!

Happy Belated Birthdays to Lynn and PollyannaMom! 🎈

Glad some of you made it through some tough anniversaries. ☹️

So sorry to hear of baby losses. Prayers went out. 🙏 🥲

Glad people had nice trips to NH and London. My SIL is in Italy right now enjoying her week, pictures have been beautiful. It is my dream, as well, to visit England someday. I just have to get past the plane ride thing, lol.

I work with a lot of good nurses who are St Anselm’s alums. I hope you got to see some foliage, Bobbi. It’s really stepped up now. I have beautiful yellow/orange leaves on my maple tree right outside my window.

Did anyone else catch the Aurora Borealis sightings last night? DD got some great shots with her new camera. She’s a good photographer. She gave me her old iPhone which is a lot newer than my old one so I’m getting used to it. Camera is fantastic. I have to watch a tutorial at some point. Snowysmom, which iPhone did you get? Are you liking it?

Lynn, I have posted a lot over the years about PCOS. Did they see cysts on her ovaries when they did the CT scan? That’s what I’m guessing. You don’t even have to have cysts when you have PCOS. Basically it’s a super complex syndrome that involves both female and male hormones and the correct doctor to see is an endocrinologist. You can read 10 different articles and get 10 different explanations. I just looked through a bunch for you and will post the one I thought made the most sense. They recommend a nutritionist because poor diet and weight gain are thought to make it worse. Usually they draw insulin levels to see if they’re high (which indicates insulin resistance, which leads to a host of other medical problems as a person ages). Many women go on BC but some also use Metformin, along with health improvements. Many people are walking around not even realizing they have it. Good luck.

We are also still in the midst of our clean out and renovation. I’m enjoying it and even find myself really loving my home again. 🥰 It’s kept us busy but in a good way. I even made a few changes in my living room which open it up a bit. Have gotten a lot of compliments on our lower level family room which is so cute and comfy now. DD has her kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances ready to order after having someone come in to measure properly. She’s excited. Sale is on now. At the same time DH and I are working on retirement stuff. (I still have a ways to go but he’s closer.) We sign our new wills and trust this week, had to arrange some witnesses and we’ll take them out for lunch afterward, lol. DH is dealing with governmental stuff. We’ve had a few things come up with him that we’re dealing with medically, nothing serious, thankfully. Kid’ bdays are coming up, planning to do something on a night we’re all off. We might just cook something here and sit outside by the fire, or we might go out. With the kids, there will be 8 of us, so it might be easier to do something fun at home, like pizzas in the pizza oven, or grilling. Puppies are good. G got a nice compliment at the vet’s yesterday, he’s become such a good boy. Toto is his usual adorable little wiggly self. He sleeps a lot but is always raring to go, too.

I hope everyone has a good weekend! 🐥 I’m starting a stretch on. 😅 Will try to post some pics below.

@PollyannaMom , belated birthday wishes! :cake:

Three birds got into the netted area over the pond. Two sparrows plus a mourning dove. We have no idea how they got in, but they are out now. We have adjusted the net, and hopefully if they get in, it will be easier for them to get out. We hope so. The net was $80…maybe we won’t be using it at all.

@Pea-n-Me, my DDiL is a St A’s Nursing alumna! 1997.

Pea Glad to hear from you. Love the pictures especially of Toto and Grady and friend. It sounds like you and DH are taking care of the "grown up" stuff for the future. I got an iPhone 16. Kenny helped set it up. I downloaded all the apps. I do like it. They are some things I prefer on Android, mainly the clock app, but not really an issue. The phone is smaller so fits in my pocket much better. Thank you for that wonderful saying you posted. It is so true. I need to get that in writing and save it.

Taz Glad your family is safe after the hurricane.

Good morning. 50 degrees now, going to 74. Wednesday we're supposed to be a high of 50, I guess the heat may be going on this week.

Doing normal Saturday morning chores such as stripping the bed. Then going out and raking up the rest of the straw that's on the new grass seed. It's tall enough to mow now, so I need to get the straw off.

Nothing else new. Have a nice day.

Good morning. It is warmer here, 67 right now. I have been busy going to Market Basket, changing the bed, cleaning the bathrooms, I took a walk at the lake, went to Kohls to get a slow cooker, and now will do some work. I ordered a slow cooker from Amazon and it came yesterday. I opened the box and immediately saw a huge dent in the side of the cooker. I packed it back up and brought it to the UPS store to go back. I decided to get one at a local store in case of issues.

I attached a picture of the Lake where I walk. You can see the leaves starting to turn colors.

Have a good Saturday.

Very pretty and peaceful looking lake dear Snowysmom. May walks truly bring you added comfort and joy. Prayers you are feelimg better.

Dear Lynn, please take care of yourself and not overdo! Health prayers continuing for Summer and Lily, always of course, for you.

Thank you all again for your extra prayers for dad. He's having a tough time. Grace of God getting through.

Have a happy rest of the afternoon, friends.

@Snowysmom , lovely lake view!

It wasn’t as cold last night as predicted, but Tom and I did bring the houseplants in yesterday.

It was just a lovely day here, too! The leaves on the Garden State Parkway are starting to turn. Right now, it may just be the dogwoods, and poison Ivy vines, but there’s definitely some reds !

We will pack tomorrow for our trip that includes West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, and if we can get to our friend’s house in NC, we will go there too! Tom delayed too long booking the Cape May Lewes ferry, and our choice is sold out. He’ll keep checking, in case something opens, but it looks like we’ll be using I 95.

Prayers extra to you and Tom dear Bobbi for safe travels!

Dad and I have used Target Brand Up&UP Free and Clear Laundry Soap for years. It looks as though it is no longer being made. We are hoping it is being re-named or packaged with a new design. We will try to call Target next week to ask. As a back up, do any of dear you have an alternative Free and Clear (No scent) recommendation? No interest in a fabric softener just the soap. Prefer not a P&G product. Thank you, friends.

Bobbiwoz Have a great trip and safe travels. It should be beautiful this time of year.

Flyingdumbo127 I hope your Dad is starting to feel better. I don't like when they change or discontinue products. It is hard to find a replacement.

Good morning. So chilly here at 39 and temps only going into the 50s with rain coming later, although it is raining a bit now. The next few days are going to be only in the 50s with some nights going down into the 30s. Not ready for it. Yesterday I got some stuff done around the condo. Today I am not sure if I will be seeing Jeff or Kenny or both. Kenny offered to come by this morning and do some things for me. But Jeff said he was only available Sunday so I am waiting to see if I will be seeing him. Kenny knows this and we will reschedule if needed.

Have a good Sunday.

Have some cocoa dear Snowysmom and please stay well and warm my friend:hug:Dad, thank you for asking, is doing better. Not easy on him though :( I hope your sons visit you today and perhaps bring a dash of Clifford cheer along:dogdance:Thanks also for understanding about favorite products. I just don't understand why often something needs to be, " new and improved," when it works great as is. I feel the same way about most tech updates!

Sunday joy to all with love always.
