Good Mid-week Morning!pluto:

It's chilly in the mornings!!!! Heating not getting turned on yet.:cold:

Not much going on. I'm picking up Mia from daycare today after work. I think we're going to head to the store and get her a Halloween costume, I'm think a princess.princess:

It's Survivor night, had Chipotle last night so no fun dinner for the show.🌮

That's all I have today. Have a great day!

Good morning. Chilly again, going to 53 again. This is getting old fast, lol

Shopping and errand day, glad I don't have a lot to do, still not feeling 100%.

Summer's husband got a new job, but this one may not pan out. She has to drive him to KY for the first trip, until they find out where the job will be. But the company is based in TN. Her vehicles are not going to be able to make that trip very often. He has to find something closer, but there aren't a lot of local railroad construction companies around. It's a job, but the wear and tear on her truck, the cost of gas, staying in a hotel overnight every time she has to take him down or back isn't going to be worth it.

Nothing else new around here. Have a nice day.

I hope you are not all tired of my slow moving on going remodeling.

Yesterday I attempted to sand the door holes, the one where the latch goes in, but it was too tedious and not that symmetrical.

Abandoned that idea (free as I already had all the materials) and picked up a hole saw and went to work with that. That was tricky because of the door width, which is slightly smaller than newer doors. The margin for error was about an eight of an inch on either side of the hole.

My 'guy' may have given this a shot but if 'he' messed it up, not kidding I'd probably be upset at him for attempting it. If I mess it up I only have me to blame. I did figure out I could get a different knob that would fit but I didn't want knobs. I wanted the levers installed. I wanted the ones I couldn't return that are already paid for.

Anyway got to work and drilled out 5 of the doors. One closet door I went a little high and I had to get a tool and sand down the area a tiny bit. It worked out as I only needed to sand a teeny bit to get the right fit. The biggest challenge were where the door latch goes into the strike plate. One by one I have to adjust them by picking out the wood and making enough space for the latch to catch. The old ones were working somehow, but after removal the openings were not uniform and old wood can be really hard or crumbly. I have some crumbly stuff which makes it easier to pick out the extra, but I'll also be going back with wood filler to smooth some edges. It's also possible that some of what I call crumbly is old wood filler, who knows?

Eventual success is all five are working nicely and I've only got 6 more to go.

Now taking my lunch, nap and computer break. I may get back to work today or wait til tomorrow. I'll also have to get out a paint brush and trim paint to touch up the little bits that are needing it. Before starting this job, those little bits weren't bothering me much, but now they have to be fixed or every time I see the area I'll be OCD'ing about it.

Judique It sounds like you are really keeping busy and doing some good remodeling work.

Lynn I hope Summer's husband can find something closer to home.

Bobbiwoz Great picture. It is nice to see your pictures.

It is chilly today with a brisk wind, temp around 50. I went into the office early today and then to the endodontist. He finished the root canal so that is good. And he did not break the crown which is also good. Next week I go to my dentist so he can restore the crown with a permanent filling. The endodontist mentioned that sometimes they want to put in a new crown but my dentist told me last month he would put in a filling as long as the crown was not damaged as part of the root canal. I am going with that. I am paying out of pocket now so it is bit too much to have to add that to the budget. It is a little sore so I took Advil and tomorrow will just go with Tylenol. Advil and I do not get along too well. I took sick time for the rest of the day so I am taking it easy. I am picking up Kenny's kids at the bus today.

Have a good day.

Good evening from Abingdon VA! A friend told me if we go down I 81 we should definitely stay at The Martha Washington Inn and Spa. Well it’s beautiful, and historic. Signs say with upgrades the hope is The Martha will be around for another 190 years! It’s that historic! Sadly, the pool and certain areas are not limited mobility friendly, you have to go down many steps to the beautiful pool, one and a half flights. We do have a HA room and it’s well appointed.

We found that the parking lot has access to the pools, so, while not great, it will be possible. We would consider this in warm weather!

Haha!

Bobbiwoz What a lovely hotel. Glad you are enjoying your trip.

It is cold this morning, 34. I put an extra blanket on the bed overnight. Now I am washing my comforter to put on. Temps are supposed to go into the mid 50s today so it will warm up. My friend in NH and I are going on a cruise to Canada in the late Spring. We have been discussing where to go for our BFF trip and we do not want to fly. The cruise is out of Boston. Jeff has tentatively offered to take us to the port and pick us up as it leaves on the weekend. Now I just need to book it at work. Something to look forward to during the cold winter. Today I pick up Kenny's kids again and then have dinner with them.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Lynn, hug and prayers you are feeling even better. Prayers, of course, also that Summer's husband finds a job closer to.home.

Hug, Judique and I admire your tenancity. You absolutely will see your remodel through in a great way--you already are. Take each step as it comes and have fun making design/color, etc choices.

Please take care and feel better dear Snowysmom. Hug and prayers that your bigger dental work is behind you. I am cold just reading your 34 degree temperature words, yikes. Stay warm and well!

Bobbi, hug, and I love the stream picture. Thank you again for taking us along on your vacation through such lovely photos. Be safe and enjoy.

Have any of you friends ever used a small mist humidifer? Dad and I tried one years ago for a bad long-term cough. It didn't help so we returned it. Our apartment doesn't have much ventiliation. It is dry in here and as all of you know I am still homebound. My skin is pretty dry from only being able to use wipes. I do use lotion and need to apply it more regularly. My poor nose is particularly dry and has become irritated. Yesterday from too much rubbing/blowing, it bled a bit. A moist washcloth really helped. I will do my best to be very gentle going forward. I wondered if a humidifer might help. I have read that aloe lotion can work, too. I just wasn't sure how that would necessarily help my nose. Anyway, I'm fine so please don't be concerned.

Thursday joy in some way to each of you with love.

Good morning. Got down to 39 again last night, but at least we're going to hit 60 today.

Got errands and grocery shopping done yesterday. The prices are insane. Last week I bought a Marie Callender's frozen dinner and the price was $2.76. Yesterday the same dinner was $3.96. So I guess I'm paying for the labor it took to move everything from one end of the freezer cases to the other? Making it even harder to find what someone is looking for. It cost me $125 for groceries and I hardly bought anything. Most of it was cat food, cat snacks and litter. The only meat I bought was boneless chicken thighs from Aldi's. It's nuts. The price of gas went from $3.35 on Tuesday to $3.45 yesterday.

Lily works at Walmart besides going to college and she had a scary situation the Tuesday night. A guy came through her line wearing a black silk robe. He started talking to her and was talking about blood, and skulls, showing her his tattoo's, and other creepy stuff. He asked her for her #, and she told him she had a boyfriend. He told her "We can just be friends". She didn't want to give him her number and he kept bugging her. He finally left, but she was so scared that on her break she ran out to her car and locked the doors. Called Summer to tell her. Summer told her to go back in the store and tell security. She was in such a hurry to get back in, she locked her keys in the car and didn't realize it until the store closed at 11. She did tell security and they found the guy on camera and put his picture up in the break room to warn other employees. Lily had to call a locksmith because State Farm's roadside assistance didn't answer their phone. It cost her $65 to get back into her car.
The kicker? Roadside assistance called her at 11 am YESTERDAY morning and told her they could get to her around 1. What the actual heck. Why pay for roadside assistance with that kind of service.

She has nothing but bad luck. We were in the market when she called Summer yesterday and said she got a parking ticket at the college, and has no idea why. She has a parking pass (that she paid $100 for), and wasn't parked in a no parking zone. She's going in to day to appeal the ticket and ask why it was given.

Debating whether to close up the AC unit outside for the year. Supposed to go to 75 this weekend, but that's not warm enough for me to need it anymore. Time to harvest all of the basil and parsley and dry them for the winter too. We had a light frost and that was enough to make them look 'done'. My huge petunia planters on the front porch have had it too. They lasted a long time. The big geranium on the back deck, which I thought was done, has rebloomed with a ton of new flowers, and the echinacea, which is only supposed to come up once, which I had cut down all the dead stalks a month ago, has regrown and is flowering again. This was the weirdest growing season ever.

Have a lovely Thursday

Lynn So scary for Lily. She did the right thing except for locking her keys in the car but that is understandable given the stress of the situation. Food prices are getting out of control. Every time I go to the supermarket it surprises when I see the total and the few items I bought. I only buy chicken once in a while when it is on sale. Produce seems to be going up alot around here as well as dairy.

Flyingdumbo127 I used a small black and decker humidifier I got on Amazon when I had my house. I had it on my bedside table and it helped alot. I plan to get another one for my condo as it is dry here.

Happy Thursday!🍂

The big art festival starts in Cincinnati tonight. We went the first year they had it, it's really cool. It's all done with lights and drones. It covers so much of our downtown and surrounding areas, even the areas in Kentucky, just across the bridge have joined in. It's a walking event, only at night so it would take someone 2 nights to see the entire thing, probably 3 nights if you stop and do all the interactive things. Artists come from all over to participate. I can't even imagine how many miles we walked when we did it.

I picked up Mia from daycare yesterday. She's so funny now that she's starting to talk. Her big thing is "what's that" and "where'd it go". We went to WalMart and she picked out a costume, she's Cinderella this year. I made the mistake of picking things up to show her, she would take them and then reach around and put them in the cart. Then she would say "home". How could I say no? We went for a costume and cat food. We left with a costume, cat food, 2 decorative birds, a large black cat with a pumpkin, a plush pumpkin, a new ball, and a Paw Patrol truck. Good Lord!!!! We met Evan at his soccer game. I stopped and got her McDonald's so she ate dinner and we played ball. When we went to the car, I thought he was going to fall on the ground when I started pulling all the WalMart bags from my trunk.

Not much else going on. Survivor wasn't too exciting last night. I started watching The Summit, which is on right after Survivor. I've gotten into that show, it's not bad.

A guy came through her line wearing a black silk robe. He started talking to her and was talking about blood, and skulls, showing her his tattoo's, and other creepy stuff.
OMG, that would be scary!!! Glad she told the security at work.

Have a great day!

You made me laugh at your shopping trip with Mia.

I've never seen someone have quite the same reaction that Annika had at being blindsided. Andy pulled off a good one.

I'm watching the Summit too, but those people are out of their minds!

Lynn, what a scary situation for Lily, I'm so thankful she's okay!

God Bless Mia dear Footballmouse, she is precious.

Thank you both Snowysmom and Bobbi for the humidifier information. I really appreciate it. We will look into it. I'm just not sure we have a place for it to plug into. Also, if it needed to go on my table, it would be behind where I sit in my chair so I'm not sure whether that would still work or not. Nose doing much better today, I've been VERY careful just to dab at it. Praying no more incidents like yesterday.

Wishing each of you a peaceful good evening with love,

Flyingdumbo127 Amazon does not have the exact same small humidifier but they do have some small ones. I have seen the one that Bobbiwoz mentioned before and it looks like it would work too.

Footballmouse Mia is so funny.

Good morning. It is 36 here now with temps heading to around 60. Today after work I may walk at the park or lake and then get something out for supper. I had dinner with Kenny and family yesterday which was nice. Tomorrow I go to watch Jeff's kids while they attend a neighbor's funeral and then pick up their new car. They ran out of room in their Ascent with the 4 kids. LOL! Now they are getting a Ford Expedition, the larger one. They want to have room for more cargo when traveling and for at least one more person when bringing friends places. Maybe it means that when we do a family road trip I can ride with them as Kenny does not have room for me and we would have to rent a car so I don't drive alone.

Off to work. Have a good day.

A family road trip sounds nice dear Snowysmom. May it be just that when you take it. Thank you again so much on the humidifer.

Happy early Friday friends. October sure has gone by quickly. I am extra praying to be normal by Christmas. God has this and always me. How beyond blessed I am. How thankful I also am to God to have all of you my Quacker family🐣💛
