Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Later afternoon and good evening hug to all. I spoke with Armando the technician who came out last week on the chair. He was so kind to take the time to direct me to a calibration and reset video on my Golden remote. He even waited on the phone while I did all of that! I got up a few minutes ago from a nap. The chair behaved the same way as it had been :p I followed the video again, this time, I pray completing the final step that I don't think I did the first time. We shall see later. Armando and I agreed if the chair did the same thing again I should call back tomorrow. Here's praying the remote truly is all fixed now.

Dad and I heard from our cousins in Houston again. Steve said they have power and AC again. He and Ruth did need to buy all new food for their fridge due to the length of the outage. I think that happened to me once years ago when I lived in Northern, CA. Dad said if happened to him once also many years ago when I was living up North and our old fridge died ond summer. Our current fridge is just as old now. We were so grateful as some of you may remember last summer that if hadn't died. Truly hoping it lasts longer.

Extra love to all of my Quacker family.

@flyingdumbo127 Hope the remote is fixed now. It is frustrating when something does not work correctly.

Good morning. Another hot day ahead. I haven't been cooking with the heat. I had a chicken wrap for supper and today plan on a turkey wrap. Easy cool meals. Yesterday I walked a couple of times and then went to Market Basket for salads and produce. Kenny came by with Clifford the dog and we chatted for a bit. He asked me to go over today to take out the dog in the afternoon as his GF is away on business.

Have a good day.

Good morning! Today is cousin Sandy’s birthday and they are still around here, so, a birthday celebration at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House in the Villas is coming up at 9 this AM. They return home to Sussex County NJ tomorrow.

Last night DiL, Mimi, fixed a taco feast for us, and we enjoyed it at our swim club. We got permission to bring their family as guests twice this week. The pool is largely unused from 5-8 each day. Their next time will be Thursday, so looking forward to another of Mimi’s delicious food.

@flyingdumbo127 , I hope the remote is fixed!

Happy day to everyone!

Wednesday love to all of dear you. Thank you all on the remote. It is still acting up. I reset it twice yesterday. We will look more into it later. Extra blessing that I got a couple hours sleep on my bed. Chair generally right now as I recover is easier and can be more comfortable. Grace to have both.

Clifford sounds so cute desr Snowysmom:dogdance:Dad has been having some easier microwave meals to save on cooking. My daily food choices are simple as is lol a summery handy part of being plain and particular.

Dear Bobbi, you know I am always up for 🥞Enjoy yours my friend and the rest of your trip.

Footballmouse, Kirby, Lynn, and anyone else who has a Kroger (Ralphs out here) store, Boost membership (how dad and I get Aquafina delivered is half off through July 23rd. Other Boost member deals are also available right now.

Dad will be heading to the DMV later this morning to renew our registrations. Both our cars were bought in July, 3 years apart. Makes yearly renewal more costly but also gets both taken care of together. He will.alsi be going to the post office. Reminder to buy extra stamps or mail anything that needd extra postage this week. Prices horribly go up.on Sunday.

Have a happy day everyone. Hugs to all.

Good morning Another near 100 degree day, 100% chance of storms this afternoon. Praying that they're right, we need it.
We were up very late last night and slept in this morning. We've had so much fun catching up while she's here, and I'm sad she's leaving. It made a lonely, quiet house a lot less so for the last week. She heads back home this afternoon but I'll be heading her way in a few weeks.

Mona, no Krogers here, closest one is almost 1 1/2 hours away.

Going out to breakfast and then she's heading for the airport. I need to do a little grocery shopping today or tomorrow.

Have a nice day, stay cool

I bought some thanks to you mentioning this! (They had cute manatee ones :goodvibes too.)

Kitty's follow-up at the vet yesterday was good. Anemia is not a concern anymore and she's off the meds for that. :) The little sore on her nose is still not completely gone, but we're working on getting her to let us put a little cream on that, so hopefully it will be better soon. Other kitty goes tomorrow for her regular kidney check.

Kitty:cheer2:dear PollyannaMom and alwys dear you cheers, you know that.

Lynn:hug:I am also so grateful you have an upcoming trip. I made a Kroger mistake, sorry about that. Just trying to save you money :)

Snowysmom, I hope you're having a good morning🕊️

Good afternoon.

It has been a busy few days as usual. I have been playing taxi driver for my grandkids. Today Ella had to be in work at 8:30 AM. She has been putting in a lot of hours but seems to enjoy the job. She's working at Sesame Place and it's a half or so ride by car from her house so while public transportation is available, it isn't regular, costs more since she is outside the city and takes over an hour. Crystal is not working at the moment because she was let go, retribution in my opinion. She is very conscientious, and her shift manager was doing some things that were concerning to Crystal, the issues were safety hazards, but she was the odd man out and her co-workers and shift leader are friends. If questioned they would have sided with the shift leader, I've been in that situation before. I told her that she did the right thing but unfortunately that sometimes backfires. She is looking for a new job and will go back to the Halloween Store when it opens.

When I dropped Ella off this morning I saw a yellow bird in the flowers. I didn't have my camera so didn't get the best picture with my phone and through the window, but it was an American Goldfinch.

I'll have to take the camera with me from now on in hopes of getting a better picture.

Have a great rest of the day and I hope you can all stay cool with this heat, those of you that are getting the high temps like we are in Philly.

Someone please turn off the sun and make the clouds drop some rain. We are sitting at 99 degrees with a heat index of 107. All of the storms went over and above us. Now we have a 'slight' chance of a rain shower tonight and then none in the forecast until next Wednesday.

My company is gone, and the house already feels lonely again. But it was so great having her here for a week. I can't wait to go and visit her.

Off to find something cool to fix for dinner. It's too hot to cook, even with the AC going.

Have a nice rest of the day

So far today I've cleaned and mopped one bathroom, and took apart coffee pods to compost/recycle.

I'm sitting out on my porch with one of the cats right now. The weather feels ..."weird" is the best I can do - grey and windy and just sort of a little ominous. The yard is pretty scraggly looking with lots of little wildflowers, but I wouldn't have wanted to guy who mows to be out in the heat the last few days, so it is what it is.

@bobbiwoz - I think Ella is enjoying the job so far although she has mentioned an issue or two. One was just crazy - she was called a racist because she wouldn't let someone in the party room because they had the name wrong. She was put in the kitchen instead and a co-worker, a man in his "40's" according to her estimate, pushed her. She said that she thinks he is going to be fired soon anyway. She handled it on her own. Ella is one very determined young lady and quite capable of dealing with situations. I did tell her that if it happens again she needs to report it as that is just not ok.

The weather was a little less humid this morning although we are still supposed to be hot. I can deal with the heat, it's the humidity that does me in. Today is my anniversary - 43 years. We have had some bumps along the way but thats life. I don't think my mother-in-law thought we would last this long. I was not her favorite person, I stole her baby from her, and she let me know it. She did mellow a bit when she developed dementia. Then she sang my praises. My Ella has her strong personality which in some ways is a very good thing. My MIL was a tough lady and had to be. My DIL died the day before my husband turned 7 so she raised him alone plus she had guardianship of his mentally handicapped cousin. Not sure what we are doing to celebrate because going out is hard with my allergy. i did think we could go to IHOP for dinner. After our reception I was starving, I never got to eat. Either my baby brother stole my food or I was called away for a dance or pictures. We went to IHOP with a couple of our bridal party in our gowns and tuxes. I thought it would be an idea to go to the same one we went to 43 years ago for dinner.

Hope you all have a great day and stay cool.
