Good morning!

It’s funny that in the last few posts both Phoenix and the Phillies were mentioned. We’re in Phoenix right now, AND we actually inadvertently got to go to the third game in the MLB National League Championship Series at Chase Field, Arizona Diamondbacks vs Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday! We were shocked at how affordable it was when the DBacks were down two games. We are debating about going to tonight’s game again, but we’re betting the prices have gone up now that the they fought their way back the past two games. But boy, what a nice stadium that is! It’s all indoors! Fenway Park, our “home” is charming, but we loved enjoying a game with lots of modern amenities and without sweating our butts off in tiny little 100 year old seats! DS is rooting for the Phillies - an east coast team and he likes a lot of the players (many of whom played for the Red Sox previously; speaking of which, it was fun to see Kimbrell pitch again, we’ve missed him. DS actually has a similar pitching style, though not quite as dramatic!) The rest of us decided to root for the home team, though DS did get himself a DBacks shirt, too. He was very happy to go to a championship game, which would mostly be elusive in Boston unless we wanted to pay $500 per ticket or more. 🫤 Parking was only $20 too - we’re used to paying at least $50! We also saw the spring training stadium for the Angels.

Weather has been interesting for us. It was 106 degrees yesterday, but we’ve found the old cliche is true - it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity! :lmao: I mean, it’s super hot, but somehow it’s manageable. DD even commented that her hair hasn’t gotten frizzy like it does when it’s hot and humid at home. So every day it’s been anywhere from 96-108 during the daytime, but it goes down at night. This morning, for instance, it was 69 when we checked it. (Still getting used to the 3 hr time difference, been waking up around 4am.) When we go to the state parks we’re advised to bring jackets as it can get really cold there, even when it’s scorching in the city. Weird, but, ok!

DD is all graduated now. She looked great and it was a beautiful ceremony. So glad that’s behind her now.

It did take us a long time to get here, about twelve hours all told, and involved a bus, two planes (you know how I feel about those), a train and car travel. We were beat! (Not to mention the time difference.) And we’re missing our puppies a lot! (But we’ve called and they are fine. Guy said “I don’t blame you for missing them, they’re great dogs”. :lovestruc )

It was crazy seeing a sign for Los Angeles on the highway!

Snowysmom, sorry to hear about the ongoing problems with the leaks. Have you considered calling the Spotlight team on the news? Maybe they’ll do a story on it. That will get things moving real fast! I think most of the local news channels have them. I hope it works out with the dog! 🤞

We’re getting the day started. Have to hop in the shower. Deciding what to do today. Weather is always something you have to consider here. Everyone we’ve met has been super nice. Oh, except one person - at the rental counter. 🤨

Enjoy this Saturday, everyone! 🐥

Judique, I am keeping an eye out for corduroy at Old Navy. I remember years ago anyway they used to sell different colors of corduroy jeans. I hope you find some new👖you like :)

I enjoyed talking with two friends this morning. Blessing to have a working 📱again.

Have a good afternoon friends!

...The builder will not send anyone to fix my leak due to the stop work order. That order does not mean they are not supposed to do necessary repairs on existing condos under the warranty clause. And now I have 2 dripping areas instead of just one. It most likely is not the scenario that the plumber thought when he was here on Tuesday. I have not used the master bathroom since Wednesday and it is still dripping in the basement. I am beyond angry and disturbed. I may need to shut off the water at this point. I hope that would stop the leaks. The builder's attorney has not gotten back to my attorney. I am emailing my agent again to let her know it has gotten worse. I am going to ask if I get in a plumber and send the bill to the builder, will that void my warranty. It shouldn't since they are refusing to do the work. I am sorry to be venting here but it helps to write it out....
It's ridiculous that they can't fix an indoor plumbing issue in an existing unit because of stop order on the new construction area. (And don't feel bad about venting here!! - That's part of the point of the thread. ❤️ :grouphug: ❤️ )

Try not to let it ruin your hopes for the condo. I think a few issues in a new building are pretty normal as things get used for the first time, but eventually all the kinks get worked out. ✅ It does sound like such a nice group of neighbors, and I'd hate to see you miss out on good relationships with them because you're soured on the builders.

On the good news side Kenny is meeting a rescue lab today who he may adopt. The person fostering the dog says he is such a good dog, mellow, good with kids and cats, likes to play fetch, house trained, and goes into his crate easily. He is a yellow lab, medium size, about 3 years old. Kenny is excited.
Yeah!! :cheer2: Even though I'm a cat person, I love other people's dogs. I bet he will become your spoiled "grand-dog" in no time!

Oooh, good idea!!!

Judique, I just wanted to thank you for the Head's-up on the Lands End corduroy. My DH loves the thin wale cords for winter and it has been next to impossible to find them. We celebrated our 63rd Anniversary on the 15th of October and I really wanted to get him some. I never thought of Land's End since the Sears are all gone. I just finished ordering just the kind and color he loves. It was wonderful to be able to get them on sale too. So thanks again. Sorry, even after belonging to disboards all these years, I still don't know how to "quote".

Good morning. The sun is out so far, it is 49 with temps going into the lower 50s today. I went to Wegman's and got some groceries then took a walk. I checked the leak downstairs as I do 3 times a day. I have sent an urgent email to the punch list person telling her this needs to addressed NOW! Kenny wants to get involved so I may go that route too. Jeff is composing a letter to send to the address in the warranty section of the signed docs. I also have an email out to the conservation commission for clarification and to tell them what is going on. I will touch base with my real estate agent to see if they have heard anything from the Builder's attorney. Right now I would prefer not to contact a spotlight team but I will not rule it out. I am already probably being pegged as a troublemaker. So unlike me to do these things but I need to take care of me. One person here also reached out and said she is asking the kids in the town to trick or treat here at the complex. Not sure that is the best this year as equipment is all over the place. I won't be here as I am going out with Kenny and the kids. I will just keep my light off. I am in the newer section of the complex that has the equipment and mostly unoccupied units so maybe they would not come to this area.

Kenny now has a yellow lab named Clifford. I saw pics of him eating at Kenny's and he is adorable. Kenny said he just laid down quietly in the back of the car for the hour and a half ride home. I will be meeting him sometime this week. I was thinking of Wed when Kenny has the kids but not sure I can wait that long. I may need to tomorrow. I am going to see Jeff and family later today. It seems like one of the kids is always sick with something. Now it is Ellie's turn. She has pink eye and has been under treatment for a day or 2. Luke had it 2 weeks ago. I will bring the Halloween bags and books to them in case I do not see them next weekend.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. We're stuck on 55 for a temp this weekend, and alternate between sunshine and blue skies, to winds and cloudy grayness. Chance of showers later. I got the tractor out yesterday and mulched up all the leaves from the walnut tree. It's now empty of both nuts and leaves. They are calling for 77 on Friday and 72 on Saturday, so there should be no reason the tree doesn't get taken down.
Just cleaned both bathrooms and swept the kitchen. The little cat from outside adjusted to being an indoor cat within 2 days and she's been in since last Sunday. She's the friendliest little thing. Except this morning at 6:40 when she decided it would be fun to attack my legs and feet while I was still asleep. After she got put on the floor 3x she learned. She's a smart little thing, lol

It's football day for Don. I think I'm going to make slow cooker ribs for dinner. Less work and no fuss.

Have a great fall Sunday

We are marveling at it here too! :rotfl:

Hugs to Ellie - DS used to get that a lot as a kid. 😕

God Bless Clifford, cute name, dear Snowysmom:dogdance:Thank you and your family for the love and care you give him and allowing him to do likewise for you! 🙏with love always for you my friend, you know that. May all your condo issues get resolved asap and easily! Ellie prayers, as well.

PollyannaMom, :hug:and prayer s you have a good day and that your DS is doing well!

I'm looking forward to watching online worship a little later. Prayers extra appreciated for my feet. I am calling a new doctor tomorrow.

Have a good Sunday, friends.

Good morning all.
IT's breezy, with a chill in the air and leaves all over the place and the sun is bright.
Was able to sleep in this morning, till almost 8 which is a rare treat for me. Made breakfast, a cake/cupcakes, some potato salad, loaded and started the dishwasher, hung some laundry up outside and started another load and cleaned the kitchen. Made the bed...but didn't fold the laundry - I hate folding laundry. Now I'm having a bit of a sit down as the hot tub jets clean. Every 3 or so months I empty and clean the hot tub, including running a cleanser thru the jets - so that is what it's doing now for about a hour. Then I'll get the small pump out and drain it, clean it and refill it. That whole process will take me about 2-3 hours so I'll fit in other chores inbetween. It heats up rather quickly so it may be warm enough to use by this evening, We'll see.
I've got to get some chicken defrosting, making my husband fried chicken for his b'day dinner (his b'day was last week but he'll actually be home tonight:smooth: to enjoy it. He wanted a cupcake or two - he won't eat any more than that, so I made a few cupcakes and a layer cake, and I'll put the layer cake in the freezer. Oh - and I squeezed the lemons and put the juice in the fridge - Sunday afternoons are lemon drop martini days around here:D

I took myself out shopping yesterday for some new jeans and ended up picking up several of those as well as a few other well needed clothing items. A few sweaters, shirts and another vest or two. I have a semi strict rule I impose on myself, for every article of clothing that comes into the house, at least one has to exit the house - now I fully admit I have not thinned out as much as I brought in, so I will do that today .

The coming week looks lovely in terms of weather, should be in the mid-high 70's a fair bit of the week & weekend.

I am already probably being pegged as a troublemaker.
Good, you will be come a irritation to them - and they will be more inclined to finally acquiesce to your demands - not really demands, you shouldn't need to demand, but you know what I mean - your requests that they do what they are supposed to do! The more you bug them, the more they'll want you to go away- and how do they make you go away...they fix the issues and make the customer happy.
Love that name, sounds like the pup has landed in the right home!

Ok, I'd better get back to work. I'm second guessing my decision to wear capris and might have to switch to my Sunday standard - sweatpants! What a glamorous life!

:hug:Easyas that is a wise clothing rule indeed. I am a simple and plain dresser all the way so I hear you on that as well!. wear what is comfortable, my friend, especially on a trip!

I thoroughly enjoyed online worship just now. Reminder to each of dear you that God loves and is forever with you. He has you. By His Grace, I care, too.

Waving hi and good evening, everyone. Prayers we all sleep well with indeed sweet dreams. I sure pray to also sleep better with less feet pain especially when I need to get up during the night. Thanks to all for all your extra care and prayers. I will be calling the doctor's office tomorrow. Hugs :)

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you are able to see the doctor soon and get help for your feet.

Good morning. Cold here with temps going into the 50s again. Yesterday it was sunny, then cloudy, but very windy and chilly here. I met Kenny's dog. He is very sweet and calm. He had such a tough start in life but luckily found a nice couple who got him to trust them and they cared for him for 6 months. Then they contacted Save A Lab. I believe they could not afford his health issues. He had heartworm and a couple other issues. The couple said they would like updates on the dog so Kenny has been in touch with them. He just stood there while I patted him and talked kindly to him. HE has such lovely soulful eyes. He loves going into the fenced in yard and run and play. He needs to be leash trained. I saw Jeff and family yesterday. Charlotte wanted me to read the Halloween book to here while Ellie and Luke looked in the I Spy book. We played some games. Jeff wrote a letter for me to send to the builder's warranty address along with the emails I sent to them. It will be going certified mail, signature required. Kenny is coming by today to look at the leak. I also have a salt therapy appt which I do need. I need some calm and peace in my life.

Have a good day.
