Morning All and long time no see,

It’s a “fallish” day and I’m enjoying the seasonal bounty. Storing foodstuff for the winter when a fresh tasting 🍅 is a rarity and those cotton tasting modern horrors are the norm. Pulled my food mill off the top shelf and whirring thru a half bushel of tomatoes. First time I’ve ever frozen the homemade sauce instead of canning it so hoping for the best. Did a number on pounds of eggplants and zucchini via the Japanese mandolin already so glad that’s out the way.
Enjoy the beauty of the day !1696514916801.png

So nice to see you! You’ve been missed! 🥰

💕and welcome back NYCgrrl, great to see you!

I have so enjoyed all of your lovely shares about your families. Thank you, dear friends!:grouphug: Thank you all forever for all your extra love, prayers, and care! My feet overall did better yesterday. This morning, I took another morning low dose of ibuprofen. I will try the shoes later. Thank you all for the suggestions! I did order one new pair of slippers this morning on Amazon. Prayers they really are like walking on clouds as a lot of reviews say. These are coming by Sunday. I will of course share when they do :)

Pea, wow, I sincerely appreciate all the thermos recommendations. Dad and I ordered one of them in red. t's coming tomorrow! I will share how we like it :)

Beautiful 🌸everyone. More so lovely each of you! ❤️Happy Thursday to all!

Editing to add that by the forever mercy and love of God, dad should be home any minute. He got a wonderful doctor report. We are so beyond blessed indeed!

Hi! @NYCgrrl Nice to hear from you.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you can find some slippers that help your feet.

Busy day. I drove through the fog to get to work today. It was not too bad but on place where fog can get bad was in my old town that I drive through. Then I got back to Kennys, put away my work laptop, put a couple of things in the car and went to the condo. I emptied one more big box. I am running out of cabinet space and my kitchen has alot! I do miss having a pantry closet. I am really tired today and just feeling off. I think I have been too busy and I am stressed about that and all the changes I will be making soon. I know I have to go to the condo to live but I am just not in a good state of mind for that now or probably ever. I know living with Kenny is not the right thing so I need to go off myself. Also getting prepared for the grandkid invasion tomorrow. It will be fun but it will be work too. At least there will be 3 adults. I do love seeing them.

Have a good rest of the day.

Mona, what about wearing something like Crocs in the house, in place of slippers?
I had a pair that were fleece lined, and they kept my feet nice and warm and I could even go outside with them.
They would probably better for the support you need than slippers even with an insert.
Something to consider. They are affordable, too.

There are lots of others. I searched for ’Fleece Lined Crocs’ on Amazon.

Snowysmom, hugs.

:grouphug:Snowysmom. Dad and I have a couple white two door small cabinets that have two shelves inside. So, 3 total shelves counting the bottom base. We use them for extra clothing, books, or general storage. Target and Walmart pre pandemic used to have these for under $30. Just a suggestion, dear friend❤️

:thanks:dear Pea so much. I ordered the green crocs in pink. They are coming tomorrow. Dad and I agreed since I am trying one more pair of slippers from Amazon that it makes sense to try a second at the same time. This way, God willing, I like one of them, he can return the other, but we will know about both. I always thought Crocs had the bumps inside which is why I never considered them. The other choice, a good one, of course also, I don't care for because of the straps. I prefer just sliding my foot in. I have always preferred as I shared earlier a bootie slipper. However, one of the things I found about Yelena's slippers that she lent me (they are too small for me) is that it is much easier on my sore feet to not have a high back pressing into them! Looking forward to now trying two new slipper choices. Slippers I ordered this morning.

Strange 💌delivery earlier. I got a small, padded envelope package that the kind mailman brought to our door. However, we received as of yet, no mailbox mail! Informed Delivery showed a few things coming today that I would like to get. We will see if more mail comes later :)

Have a good rest of the day dear friends🐣:grouphug:

I got all of the yard work done today. The expected heater part didn't come in today, but the dealer said they were promised it for tomorrow morning. He said if there are no problems, the car should be ready to go tomorrow. He said he started it several times today, and that traction control light came on and went off when you start the car like it's supposed to, but never said off or service soon.

I just finished watching Survivor. I have a few I really dislike and a few I like.

Have a nice evening.

Good evening.

The Phillies game the other night was beyond amazing. The stadium was electric and awash in a sea of red with the rally towels they gave everyone. I somehow managed to take over 500 pictures if I calculated right, many of them were the only way I could see the game. There were 4 men in front of us who stood more than they sat making it a tad hard to see. The Phillies won (and took the series last night). We didn't get home until after midnight. My daughter let Ella stay home from school but this was mostly a once in a lifetime experience. The tix for the game where we sat were listed at over $800 a piece. Of course, I got 4 or 5 hours sleep since I had to get my grandsons to school.

My Mikey is taking culinary arts in school, and he calls for a ride home on the day he has food. Today he had a stir fry that smelled AMAZING! Because they were also making shrimp he wouldn't let me try it. He kept apologizing but didn't want me to get really sick. I would have loved to taste it, but I appreciated his concern so much.

My parents are very hard to describe. Both my parents had difficult childhoods and one parent they adored and one they struggled with. Knowing this as I got older helped me understand them better, especially my mom. They both had an alcoholic parent. My mom's mother was very difficult to get along with and she hurt my mom mentally as much as she could while mom was growing up. Some of the things my grandmother did were so intentionally cruel that its hard to believe a parent could be like that.

My dad is my superhero, and evidently, I have been a Daddy's girl since infancy. While he has been sick, I learned that when I was a baby, he would come home for lunch just to look at me. He worked 2 and 3 jobs while I was growing up but always made sure he was home on Sunday. He would tell us stories about when he was a kid or recited the Charge of the Light Brigade acting it out. As he has gotten older, I have learned to appreciate his poetic side. He writes poetry, mostly for my mom and he believes she is the person allotted to him by God from the beginning of time.

My mom was the parent all my friends wished they had, I always told them they could have her. We get along so much better now but we do butt heads occasionally. Mom can be very opinionated and is always right. When I was a teenager, we didn't speak to each other unless absolutely necessary for about 5 years. Mom was the disciplinarian, and she was tough. She believed in corporal punishment which is the one cycle I broke with my kids. I still get told all the time how lucky I am to have her for a mother. Usually I agree. I have learned that we get along better if we don't speak to each other every day.

My parents together are a force unto themselves. They played Santa and Mrs. Claus until the pandemic for charities, and it branched from there. All the money they earned they donated to Toys for Tots or found a family down on their luck to adopt and make sure they had a great Christmas. Mom plays "Grandmom" to the daughters of our priest since their family is in Uganda. We know that if dad didn't make it with this illness Mom would be OK. I come from a long line of very strong women. Dad has said for years if Mom were to leave us before him, he will be gone within a month. We believe him. He is lost without my mom.

The one thing I have seen from this period of dad's illness is how much they do love each other. My parents are not the touchy-feely type with my brothers and I, and they never showed each other affection in front of us except maybe an occasional touch on the arm. They never said I love you to each other that we could hear and almost never to my brothers and me. While dad has been in the hospital mom has been amazing. She helps him eat, makes sure his clothes are clean and helps him change when needed. He has a bag for urine that tends to leak, sometimes several times a day. She deals with that without batting an eyelash. When Jim needed bandages changed last year my daughter and DIL came over to do it because I would get sick looking at the wound. She is constantly patting his arm and he is always looking for her. He tells the nurses how much he loves her.

Oh well I am off to read since Jim has taken over the TV for football and hockey. Hope you all have a great night.

Welcome back! So good to see your post today! :)

Thanks, Luckyrabbit :hug:The 🧦extra challenge always for me is that I need extended sizes. At least 10+ Women's. I prefer completely non binding especially at the top but extra with sore feet throughout the socks. Kmart socks of years ago really were perfect. I shall keep looking. So good to see dear you posting.

You've mentioned the Kmart socks before. I believe those same socks are made by Buster Brown and are available on Amazon, The Vermont Country Store, and Walmart. Diabetic socks are supposed to be non-binding, so that is another option to look for. And men's socks (plain, cotton socks -- not business wear) may give you the extended size range you prefer.

@flyindumbo127 Pea has such good ideas for footwear. Those crocs look supportive and comfy. I hope they work out for you.

Luckyrabbit Thanks for the sock suggestions. I too like a looser fit as my feet get claustrophobic in tight socks or tight shoes. Crazy, I know.

Taz Lovely story about your parents.

Good morning. A cooler day today with rain coming in. I will work 4 hours and then gear up for the invasion of the grandkids. I wonder how they will sleep here especially Sam but it will work out. I expect my DGD's to end up with me at some point during the night. Then tomorrow afternoon once they are back home I have to really work on getting my daily stuff to the condo and do a bit of food shopping. I have some things in the fridge and cupboards already. Sunday I will bring over the rest of the stuff I need immediately and Monday afternoon do some more food shopping. I haven't even figured out a menu for the week. I will have to wing it for a bit. Back to reality for me.

Have a good day.

Happy Friday!

Picked up my auction stuff yesterday and then stopped at DSW to look for a pair of black heels. Thankfully I found a pair that weren't too expensive.

By the time I got home, a little before 7:00, I was tired. And then I walked in the house and wanted to run back out 😳. One of the dogs must have gotten sick yesterday and there was a mess in the kitchen and living room. I was gagging. 🤢 I had to put a double dose of wax melts in the dish to burn. Didn't really want to eat but I was starving. I stopped at Jersey Mike's and grabbed a sandwich. I finally was able to watch The Amazing Race from Wednesday night.

Headed to pick up the carseat that I won today after work. I need to clean the house and I have to iron my shirt for tomorrow. I need to take all my stuff to work in the morning to change into for the wedding. Hopefully the boys will be able to stop at the house throughout the day to let the dogs out and feed them. If not, it's going to be an extremely long day for them and I won't be too happy.😠

The Phillies game the other night was beyond amazing.
I am cheering for your Phillies, primarily because I'm a Nick Castellanos fan. Loved him when he was playing for the Reds.

Have a great weekend!
