Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Tonight dinner is Irish Stew and cornbread. It should be ready around 6pm. I'm hungry for it.

The weather here today was a mixed bag. Yesterday afternoon and this morning was rain. Then it warmed up and was nice and sunny here this afternoon. Now, it's still 'fall' bright outside and there is a fairly brisk wind. I was sitting by an open window and got cool, so I shut it. Couldn't leave it open and walk away with the cats anyway as one would explore and then be frightened and hide.

That's it. All the best to everyone!

Enjoy your dinner, Judique!

Amazon hasn't come yet still waiting for the slippers. 💌did come :)

God truly connects us all in such a perfect way! I have shared thar I'm a member of a used book swap site mostly for a kindness thread on it. God had me meet today a member who lives out here in the same part of town (about an hour and a half from me and maybe 30 minutes or so from ::MickeyMo) as relatives of my 100-year-old friend Sue. They live on the same street and definitely no one another. Yes, I did 📱Sue. Waiting for her to call me back. I also 🖥️emailed her relatives. I pray this brings all of them an extra smile as it did me. may it, of course, bring a smile to each of dear you, too! :)

Yay Phillies, dear Bobbiwoz. Always yay, you most of all, you know that :)Dad isn't too happy about the Dodgers early on. I wish all teams well⚾Dodgers and Phillies, Braves, Reds too, Footballmouse, extra.

Slippers extra blessing thanks to God, I like both. Either will be a ton better on my feet on what I have been wearing. Tomorrow, I will decide. I will also give Helena back her slippers and, of course, let her see my new pairs. She might want to order them in her size.

Sweet Dreams everyone with much love always.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad you found some slippers that work for you.

@lynxstch Glad your car is fixed and back with you.

The grandkids ended up sleeping well Friday night. I guess we tired them out. They had pancakes for breakfast and then Daddy came to get them. Luke cried because he did not want to leave. We hope to be able to do more sleepovers once in a while. Jeff and Aimee want to do a long weekend at WDW for their 10th anniversary next year so maybe we can do this for the 2 nights they will be away. Of course Aimee's parents may want the kids too.

I am getting ready to move into the condo today. I am very nervous and anxious about it. It is a better condo in a better location but I am still living there alone which is something I find very difficult. I think my therapist gets very frustrated with me and the whole I can't live alone part of my life. Nothing she suggests works for me. I am not being stubborn. I just know what I can and can't do in life and this is something I can't do. But have to do. Quite a conundrum. This morning I am going to the Museum of Science with Kenny and the kids. I know I should just go to the condo but it will be nice to do something fun instead of work. His GF isn't going which is why I can go. 4 seater car. I know that I will not be going places with them any more since she will be going with them. I will take what I can get when I can get it. I got used to going places with them and it was nice.

Have a nice Sunday.

Nice to hear the sleepover went well, @Snowysmom. My in-laws used to do that with all the grandkids once in a while, and they loved it!

I think making friends in the new condo will make a huge difference. Try to take advantage of social opportunities there (whether that means organized events or just coffee with a neighbor) and give yourself the grace to not be comfortable YET without discounting the hope that you might be eventually.

Enjoy the science museum! It's one of my favorites, too.

Great that the grands slept!

Good morning. Chilly today, high of 56. Windy too, but at least most of the walnuts fell yesterday. Only picked up a pail full instead of a wheel barrel full, lol. I can still see some on the tree, but they should all fall off in the next couple of days.

I just took the front birdbath down and put it away along with the hose and turned the water off out there. I need to put one of the cat boxes on the front porch for them today. I put an old afghan on the swing last night, and 3 of them were all cuddled up together on it. So cute.

Making ribs for dinner tonight. It's football day for Don which means I can do whatever I want. I did more than enough chores yesterday, today is going to be a take it easy one.

@Snowysmom I think once you get settled at the condo and meet more of your neighbors, you'll have an easier time. Sending you prayers and wishes that it happens

Have a great day everyone

Mid-morning thread save!

Online worship for me has a great reminder message of remembering Who I serve! I pray every day to be used by God as His witness in kind truth. That He order my steps and I joyfully go forth always.

Slipper update is an FYI on these. Dad's left foot is bigger than his right foot. I had always thought my own feet were the same. It turns out to the opposite for me! Firstly, these slippers are very comfortable. The problem is that for me the left slipper is a good inch too long! The right slipper is only a quarter of an inch too big (perfect really) Since I am not able to order a smaller size and then keep one slipper from each set, these will sadly need to go back. I have printed out a return code. Amazon wasn't understanding this which is fine. I realize it is an unusual situation. I have never had a shoe of any kind be full inch bigger in one shoe than the other! Dad did toss the slippers I had been wearing that truly hurt my feet. For now, I'm wearing these. I actually liked the others more, I think. But these (tie dye) still are better for my feet than what I had. Grateful of course for all and extra all foot help! Prayers each of you are having a good day.

The chill, wind, and rain were good for one thing. The walnut tree is just about empty. I've gone out 8x today and picked them up. There's a HUGE pile of them out behind the shed, by the hedges that never finished getting cut. I haven't see the guy to give him Darryl's phone number. Now he may as well wait until all the leaves have fallen off to have them cut down.

Making ribs for dinner with roasted baby potatoes, and steamed broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower. Don is watching football, I've been playing a game and writing.

Have a nice evening all

Glad to hear you have enjoyed some time for yourself, dear Lynn!

Slipper update is after wearing the tie dye most of the day, my feet realized the pink are much more padded inside. The pink are also protective outside. Dad and I measured the pink slippers again. They are the same length. My feet that apparently are different. I never had the experience as I said earlier of one foot in a shoe being so much shorter than the other. My left foot is shorter apparently than my right foot. Dad is the opposite. Dad is left handed and I am right handed so lol maybe that factors into🦶I am going to order the pink in a smaller size to try. To be continued!

Meanwhile, my cell phone of not that old has been acting up the last few days :( We will.be checking our Best Buy account to see when we got it. I do know we got protection on it. ETA: We only bought 1 year of Geek squad coverage because it is so crazy expensive :( The coverage ended on July 3rd. Looking at the Galaxy A14 on Walmart. The phone I have is A13. We will check around.

Hugs to all always.

Good evening.

Busy weekend again.

Friday we were delivering flyers for donations for our Holiday Tea at church. As I was backing out of a parking spot I TAPPED the car that was not there when I started the car and I never saw. When I looked in the mirror there were no cars to be seen. The driver of the car appeared almost the second I had the car in park yelling. Jim dealt with it but I did borrow his phone to take pictures, I left mine at home. The other driver told Jim just give me some money to fix my car. There was NO damage other than his insignia supposedly was knocked out of the grill. The insignia was being held in by GLUE! There was some other damage too. I called my insurance company and they told me not to worry about it as this is a scam thats has been going on. They get at least 1 or 2 a month. That was a huge relief.

We had a retirement party last night for a former co-worker of Jim's. I think she was his partner at one time. I was amazed at the size of this party. There had to have been close to 100 people. We sat with a couple of his friends but for the most part kept to ourselves and kept up with the Phillies game as best we could, The only scary part of the night is I think Jim had an issue with his blood sugar dropping. I make sure meals are always at about the same time but with the party it went well beyond 2 hrs. from our normal time. I think his sugar started dropping and of course didn't have his meter with us. I made him drink some coke and thankfully the lines for food opened up so I made sure to get him some fruit and pasta. It seemed to work as he stopped shaking. Something to bring up when we see the dr,

Dad is home and things are getting back to normal - he is driving mom crazy. My brother stayed with him so she could go to church. When she came home he was upstairs where he is not permitted to be. He refuses to use a walker and has been eating way more than normal.

The BIG excitement for the weekend is that my nephew was attacked by a BEAR! My brother and his family were on a family camping trip with scouts. Around 2 AM my nephew was awoken by something trying to get in his tent. It was a BEAR. Somehow my brother was able to scare the bear away. My poor nephew has 10 stitches in his head. He has scratches starting from above his eye and into the top of his head. He also needs to undergo rabies treatments too. I am so thankful it wasn't worse and that my brother was able to save his son and keep his wife and other son from danger.

Disney can't come soon enough.

Was thinking of you today, Snowysmom! I hope you’re doing ok tonight in your new place. :grouphug:

Taz, wow, bear attack? That’s crazy! Hope your nephew is alright. And sending good thoughts for your Mom - and Dad! It’s so hard to take care of someone who’s not cooperative! If he’s not careful, he’ll land himself back in the hospital!

Mona, Crocs are actually softer than those ones you bought (which aren’t actual Crocs, I don’t think). That’s why so many people like to wear them around the parks or to jobs where they’re on their feet. I was a little worried those ones might be harder. If you return them you might want to try the real Crocs with the fleece, they are pretty soft (but not AS soft as the slipper shown). Crocs are a little pricer but you can find them on clearance. (I saw a nice new pair at a thrift shop yesterday but they were too small. What is the size you wear?) I guess you need to find a balance between support and comfort, which can be tough. I also saw something a patient had on the other day and I thought of you. I even touched them to see how soft they were, lol (and they were very soft). I wrote the name down but I will have to find it and post it later.

We had a quiet day today. It was sort of a little wet and rainy out. We finally caught up with Outlander :lovestruc and we’re working on catching up on All Creatures Great and Small. We finished Gilmore Girls. :goodvibes Next we have to finish The Crown. Watching Quantum Leap with DD now. it’s nice having that massive TV and comfy space to power watch our shows.

Thank you for your prayers for DS. He is figuring it out. The good thing is that he has options. His choices are a little bit of “practical” vs “passionate”. But he is making strides. 🙏 And thank you for prayers for my patient, too. DD has had her third date with the fella she met, so things seem to be going well there. It’s been nice for her being able to kick back a little since she’s done with school.

Toto has been tolerating his baths pretty well. His skin is pretty cleared up now. And Grady is his usual happy self. He’s gotten so beautiful - all filled out and much more comfortable with everything. He was a little skittish when we first brought him home, but much less so now. They are so cute together.

Sort of sad today about the whole situation in Israel. 😞 Following updates every couple of hours.

Enjoy the rest of the evening, everyone. 🐥

Oh, my goodness, dear Taz. HUGE prayers for your nephew! How unbelievably awful! :'(💕always to you!

❤️always dear Pea. I'm going to try the pink in a smaller size. I can always mix and match if I had too. I just need of course 2 comfortable slippers. Continuing doggie prayers all around and forever, you know this YOU prayers. So glad, things are going brighter a bit for your kiddos. :hug:Mom.

@Pea-n-Me Happy to hear that Toto is doing better. How nice that Grady is so happy with you guys and can be himself. Kenny is looking into adopting a lab. The organization he is working with finds lab and lab mixes in shelters and brings them the New England to foster. He is on the list for 2 who are coming in the next few weeks. I hope your DD is enjoying having some free time to herself now. And your DS sounds like he is thinking things through.

@flyingdumbo127 It is fairly common for one foot to be a bit bigger than the other. It does make it hard in buying shoes. I hope you can find some crocs or croc like slippers that help.

@tazdev3225 Glad your Dad is home. If he is driving everyone crazy then maybe he is feeling better. I hope you have a good Disney trip.

Good morning. First night in the new condo. I was able to sleep a bit and my new shower is very nice. But, I wake up alone and I go the bed alone and I am alone in between. That is the problem. Kenny called me to see how I was doing. Jeff is on a business trip. He was not able to get in touch with me and sent Kenny a text to make sure I was OK. I was with Kenny at the time. My phone acts up now and then and I have to restart. Once I did the texts came in. At least I know the kids will get concerned if they cannot reach me easily. I do not like my phone but right now I do not have the energy to deal with it. It is only 2 years old. Once I empty the last box I am taking a break from any kind of stressful stuff. The condo can stay the way it is for how ever long I need.

Off to work. My desk is right near a large window so I will probably be looking out the window alot.

Have a good day.

It's Monday 🫤

Had fun at the wedding on Saturday. The bride looked beautiful, she wore her grandma's dress for the ceremony and then bought a new one for the reception. It was nice being out with my friends and having some drinks.

Worked all weekend so nothing exciting. We did have some exciting deliveries at work. One girl came in Saturday and within 5 minutes of getting on our unit, she delivered 😳, and then yesterday we had another quick delivery. When she arrived she was 5 cm and within an hour she was 10 cm and had a baby. We also had a scary delivery yesterday. A young girl was brought in by squad for seizures and she was only 31 weeks. We were able to do an emergency c-section and then the baby was transported to a high risk hospital (the one I work at during the week). Baby and mom are doing good.

Snowysmom - glad the sleepover went well.🥳

Flyingdumbo - another vote for the crocs from me. We have a lot of nurses that wear them at work, very comfortable. I think someone mentioned that it's normal for one foot to be bigger than the other, I usually get a 1/2 size bigger to accomodate that.

Taz - WTH, a bear attack!!! How scary 🐾! Glad your nephew came away with just stitches.

Weather around here is finally getting to Fall temperatures 🍁. Windows are opened in the house and the blankets have made an appearance.

That's about it, the boss just walked in so I probably should do some work 😒. Have a great day!
