Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Hello everyone, I need a break, I have tried at least 5 tasks today and not one of them has gone the way I intended. Ever since Kris passed I have been suffering from anxiety, it was never an issue prior. My doctor suggested some medication, but I’m not sure I want to do that. I just can’t find much joy in anything, anymore. This is really unlike me, I’ve always been able to rally and cope with things but, now it is so hard.

Dazed :grouphug: Please take the time to take a break, take a deep breath, and take care of yourself. I am of the opinion that you cannot medicate grief. I feel the same way you do about the meds. I am only happy when I am with the kids and grandkids and even that is bittersweet. I wish some calm for you.

If Jeff and Aimee have a good experience this month, then I would probably book them for your trip (is it next month?) I think you're right that peace if mind is important this time, even if it's a little pricier.
I agree with this. It's been awhile but when Carol and I went to WDW in 2014 we booked a company to pick us up. I wish I could remember the name of it, we had a good experience. The driver had on a black suit and held up a sign with my last name on it. He drove a very nice Town Car. We could have rode the Magical Express back then but we wanted to stop at the grocery store and pick up a few goodies. The driver was very nice and courteous. Riding this way was much nicer than riding on a bus. We rode the ME to the airport when we left.
Chris' close cousin who was more like a brother has his 7th recurrence of his cancer now. It is on his rib and maybe 2 other places. Please keep him in prayer. He has fought this for almost 10 years.
Oh my! Prayers lifted up!

 Dazed!

I see that ya'll have had some rain lately, we're still in the triple digits although today it only reached 98 due to some cloud cover, still felt like 106. Our forecast is low 100's for the next 10 days.

We're settling in to our new norm. Carol usually calls me after the kids go to bed. They are settling in also. Tonight is the kids first session with the therapist.

Mona, thank you for the card and caring words. ❤️

@Kirby Thank you for the info. I have booked the trip back to the airport with the same company Jeff is using. I will use Mears to get to WDW. I feel much better about this. Sending prayers for you and family. I hope the kids do well with the therapist and Carol can work on finding her way through this and resolve the issues.

Good morning. It is supposed to be sunny today after rain and thunderstorms yesterday. The kids did do T ball even with the threatening skies. We only had sprinkles during the practice so that was nice. We saw a beautiful rainbow where you could easily see all the colors. It was very nice to see.

Have a good day.

Good morning. I'm late. They were calling for showers this morning and I wanted to get the yard work done. Of course we got no rain, and the sun is out and it's getting to 88 today. I got it done, mowing and weed wacking, all nice and neat again.
I did all my errands yesterday. Got to my Dr appt , only to find out the Dr wasn't in. His wife had her baby Tuesday night.. The secretary says "didn't anyone call you this morning to tell you?" I said "If they had, would I be standing here? lol. She apologized over and over again. I told her it was fine. Stuff happens, and his wife and new baby were more important. Rescheduled for Oct. Got to Aldi's and did my shopping and my SIL's. Stopped at Martins and got the stuff she wanted from there (those 2 stores are why she had to write me a check). Got to Walmart early enough that I did all my own shopping and got finished just as I got the email that her pick up order was ready. I'm glad I made her do it. She added so much stuff that the entire tailgate of the car was filled with that order. I had put my groceries and her other orders in the back seat. The car was full, lol.

Drove to her house in WV and couldn't find her house. It's down this little windy path, looks like it's out in the boonies. House looks so rundown. They've let it go badly since my BIL died. I brought all the groceries around back and onto the deck. I had to stack them on top of each other, there was so much crap already on there. I'm afraid they are turning into hoarders. :( She had left a check inside an envelope, inside a baggie she sanitized.

Tomorrow Don and I both have PCP appts, and I told him we are getting take out on the way home. I can't even remember the last time we've had food other than what I prepared at home. He was in agreement. I know he can't go into a restaurant, so take out will have to do.

That's about it from here. Still waiting for Dave or his brother to call. I'll call him tonight if I don't hear from one of them.

Have a great day, stay cool

Good afternoon. Pleasant weather here today. 1:30 and it's only 80 degrees.

Saw the cardiologist yesterday and cleared for another 6 months although he does want me checking my BP at home. Meds are working but it is edging up slightly so he may need to tweak them but not a huge deal. I tried out the Compression Brace I ordered, and it isn't perfect, but it did help some. I can't wear it to bad and I needed it last night. The pain was 10+ every time I moved the leg. I am pretty sure that the boot on my ankle for several months aggravated the knee. I plan on taking it easy and wearing the brace when out and am hoping that will calm it down.

@Snowysmom - I saw your post about Mears and I have to admit I had no issues with them in June. In fact I called to change my pick-up time and was upgraded to a van instead of a bus which was really nice. I'm curious to see if Mears or the service that looks like a train will be handling my transportation in October since the 2 services have merged. I am cheap on some things and don't want the higher expense of a private car but I do understand not wanting Uber. I might need to do that heading to the airport on my trip unless my mom takes me again. My nephew is an Uber driver which is the only reason I would do it. I'm just not fond of my nephew, Jim's nephew actually. I have known him since before I met Jim and have never been impressed by him.

Hope you all are having a great day

Busy day, but good. I drove a few towns over to donate stuff leftover from the flea market, so I took advantage of some different places to shop than I usually go to. It was a nice little adventure.

I did squeeze in some reading for National Book Lovers Day - took my library book outside with the kitties. Here's one "livin' her best life" with a fresh air nap. -

Sorry for being AWOL most of the day. Thanks to God, all is fine here. I will post more tomorrow, I promise. I have, of course, read all of your shares. You all know, forever, you forever have my prayers and love and support!

Dad and I did each get new clothes this morning at Old Navy with our Coinstar money. Dad got a pair of shorts, and I got 2 T's. The total cost after a $2 Old Navy reward we had was just over $7!

Mangement, no surprise, won't do anything for us carpet wise. Sonia said as we expected that once units have laminate flooring, the owner will not agree to go back to carpeting. No possibility, sadly, of any assistance with small carpets. Blessing extra is that we did also get this morning at Marshalls 2 (it came in a two pack) very small, very plushy yellow rugs). We put one where I sit on the couch and one by dad's bed. Even those very small rugs from where we both sometimes sit make such a difference! So, we definitely now know that plushy larger rugs of the same idea would be a wonderful solution! Dad, thank God, is staying home tomorrow. We will both call local carpet stores and start asking around. I know some offer free estimates and Terri had the wonderful idea to also ask whether a store might have any plushy remnants leftover from a bigger job that they would be willing to sell to us at a real discount. We will do that! Thank you all so much for your continuing extra foot prayers for us both!

Sweet Dreams, Dear Quacker Family with love always.

@flyingdumbo127, I was pretty sure you were right that they would not go back to wall-to-wall carpet, but I think your idea of area rugs is a good one. With a little patience, I'm sure you'll come across some good deals! I once needed carpet squares for a "math & movement" project, and a local place gave me a whole stack of samples because the colors had been discontinued. 🙂

Good Morning dear 🐥🌅

Scripture that I read earlier was as always exactly what God knew I needed reminder of to keep closer at heart today. Psalm 119:105 Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. May each of you dear Quackers rejoice in forever no matter any life storm He is Light. Your Light. I care, too.

What a fun math movement idea, dear PollyannaMom:hug:Thank you for doing that. I wasn't surprised by what Sonia said either. We had, of course, hoped for some small rug assistance. I will share later of our progress :)

🙏dear Lynn for you and Don to have safe and positive doctor visits today!

Quiet Thursday here, a little cooler. We are expecting a Boost Delivery this morning from Ralphs. Kirby, Footballmouse, and anyone else who shops at Ralphs or a Kroger Supermarket, 18 eggs this week with a digital coupon are $2.99. Dad and I only ever buy 12. Just want to share the deal to anyone who might be able to use it :)

Hugs to all. I will come back later.

@flyingdumbo127 Some of the carpet stores near where Chris and I lived had really good deals on remnants. We ended up going that way for some area rugs in our small house. I hope you find something that works for you. I am fortunate in that when and if I ever move into the condo I have area rugs that I bought for the old condo.

@PollyannaMom Sweet little kitty.

I was in the office today. My boss brought in her puppy. He was good with only a bit of barking. Jeff asked me for a copy of the P&S for the condo and the addendum I signed to move closing from June 14 to July 12. I have not signed anything else yet. He said that as of Sept 12, per the P&S, I can get out of the contract and get my deposit back. That makes me feel better. I guess that is why they are trying to push Aug 31 which we all know will most likely not happen. I went over yesterday and no one was working. There was one guy and one truck. Usually it is very busy. I guess since they cannot do outside work they are taking time off? My shower door is still not on and there are other kinds of finishing things they need to do. Only weeds are growing on where the grass should be. I am not sure what I will do but I am going to move very carefully and make sure my interest is being served. I will question everything with the attorney. I am sure it will cost me more money with him but it will be worth it.

Have a good day.
