There's nothing lazy about not running it and cleaning it manually.
Unfortunately, I don't often clean it manually either :rotfl: I'm a "spot cleaner" when it comes to stuff like that.

The self cleaning feature does take a long time and it gets extremely hot in there, so I would never start it and leave it, for sure. But I'm sort of shocked that so many don't use it.
I have run it a couple of times, but running something at that temp does make me nervous, plus the smell bothers everyone in my house, so it's one of those chores I wait for the "perfect day" to do - when I'm home long enough and the weather is just right to have the windows open (which mean not too hot, not too cold, and not too much pollen - so you can imagine how many of those there are 😆 )

@Kirby Such good news about James. Glad he is feeling better. Lou Lou and Joe sound like such nice kids and such characters. And your DD handles things really well when ex fails to do what he is supposed to do.

@FlyingDumbo Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Target tomorrow. So glad you are venturing out and finding your comfort zone.

It is a warmer morning here, around 65. I went to get coffee at the local coffee shop, hit Hannaford's for a few items, and took my first walk of the day. It was breezy but nice. Today I hope to work a bit, vacuum upstairs and wash the bathroom floors, go look in Home Goods and maybe another place or 2, and take 2 more walks. I have to keep busy or I just end up ruminating and feeling sad. Weekends are hard to get through as everyone is busy but me. I have to figure out things to do.

Sam is officially one now. I am not happy that I cannot see him today but Jeff said he would videochat so at least I can see him and tell him Happy Birthday. I know they are so busy with the kids and their activities. It is only going to get busier for them as the kids get older.

I have salt therapy tomorrow which I am trying out for my anxiety, stress, and sleep issues. If it turns out to be useful I will probably try the session they have once a week that adds guided meditation with the salt therapy. I feel like I need to try some new things to get through the day. They also have other programs that you can sign up for. They fill up quickly so once I figure out if this is right for me I can take a look at other programs.

The appliances I bought are a Maytag washer and dryer and a Sharp fridge. I never thought of Sharp but the model I bought gets really good reviews. I like the 2 freezer drawers where I can keep the food I want easy access to in the top drawer and put longer term freezer items in the lower drawer.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. Just time to say hello before I get to the garden and put tomato stakes in before it gets too warm. I didn't sleep well last night, and am still sore from everything I did yesterday, so it's going to be relaxing after that. @Snowysmom I've never heard of salt therapy, what is it? I hope it helps you!

Don managed to find 2 owners manuals last night, on the Maytag site. You just have to look under the right place. I think it would be more convenient to have it in paper form, but I'll learn to deal with it. It shouldn't be all that much different than the Maytag I have now, except for the air fryer and convection functions. I will figure it out somehow.

Off to get moving, slowly, lol

Have a great Sunday

Good Sunday morning! (I had tio think for a minute what day it was!)

Lynn: https://saltsoftheearth.com.au/what-is-salt-therapy/

Buay yesterday, got the floor and some other things for the bathroom - new mirror, light, toilet pepar holder, towel holder, trash can and brush/plunger combo. Thinking of keeping the pedestal sink for now, not sure, but I did order a new faucet for it (which we need whether I get a new sink or not). Fixtures are black-ish and/or wooden to go with our rustic/barn theme. Could not find a six panel door that swings out, have to keep looking.

Another busy day today I think I have to paint the stair backs. DD did a nice job painting the bookcases and window on one side, now she has the whole other side to do. And I have to go through my books. :faint: Toilet is sitting in the backyard, lol. We can’t get a new one because of the type it is - the room is below ground so waste has to travel “up”. Thankfully I like It, and it’s white. Did I tell you that DS put his big TV and sound system up already and he bought himself a lounge chair (fiasco) so there he is sitting down there amidst the debris flying a plane or playing golf, lol. Actually it’s clean debris now, but it is a funny sight.

I hope everyone has a good Sunday. 🐥

Happy Sunday and frompooh:and Piglet, too :)

Happy Birthday🎂to Sam and also to your dad, PollyannaMom! Wishing both birthday guys a wonderful day.

I am looking forward to watching online worship a little later which is always an extra Sunday joy for me to get to do. Target, thank you Snowysmom, will be fun to go to tomorrow morning. As you and others said and so kindly encouraged, small steps.

💛to all. I will check back in later.

Good morning! I had one of Lynn’s type days yesterday, I think. I was the Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, as my mother would say, lol. Just about all day, DH and DS were working in the bathroom, DD was painting in the family room, and I got to keep the rest of the house running, feed everyone, as well as be the runner and party planner. :faint:

Stuff is everywhere right now in the house, and it’s driving me crazy. But I cleaned and straightened around it as much as I could. I still have to vacuum today. Dust is everywhere, but I didn’t do much with that, as, what’s the point? There’s just more dust coming from the sawing and hammering, and we also have the windows and doors open so there’s pollen. Ugh. (Currently AC won’t go on since we had a new thermostat installed when we lost heat on that arctic-cold day back in February, but thankfully weather has been pretty nice. Have to call them this week - cha ching!) I did several loads of laundry (uniforms, clothes, towels), made lunches (leftovers) and dinner (grilled ham and cheese w tomato soup - easy), grocery shopped and put everything away, ran to the hardware store for nails and a screen for the lower level door (even though we have our yard sprayed mosquitoes have been awful already this year; last yr we had none, it was a beautiful thing).

Wound up taking dogs/Grady out for his run. He had a little cake for his celebration last night (hopefully it won’t upset his tummy) and I got him some Rachel Ray “soup bones” which he really likes. Has a ton of toys already (DD buys them). I did see one thing I regret not buying, it was a toy “gun” that shoots tennis balls. DS would’ve had fun with him with that, but neither of our dogs are super into balls - certainly not like a Lab or something is. After dinner (with lots of bug spray) I spent an hour or so cleaning out my car and taking everything out of it. My Mother’s Day present was a car detail. :lovestruc So after we all finally stopped working around 9pm I then had to take my car to drop off at the detail place. I can’t wait to get it back all nice and clean! Wound up also washing the blankets that I keep in the car for the dogs, too. I had more crap in my car than I realized once I started digging around the glove box and consoles! Had a big bag of trash and will probably have more as I put stuff back. (Glad to get rid of all the masks I had in the glove box!)

Bathroom took a long time. There had been a leak behind the sink that had to be repaired. And DH had a little trouble finding the 2x4s in the wall there for some reason, but they worked it out. Still have a ways to go in there today. (DH took today off for a 1 yr surgical follow-up appt but decided to move the appt up so he could bang this out.) Still have to move the washer and dryer to put the walls up behind there and install the flooring. We also have one big bookcase left to take all my books off of and clean and paint it. Then I think we will be mostly done and we can start on the floor in the family room. First is to clean it then paint it, then we can install the carpet tiles. I had an idea about the stairs looking around at what they have but I think we also have to sand and paint the stairs today, I might do that. I took the week off so I want to get some things done besides that, including my room. 🤞

Thinking of all. Enjoy your Monday! 🐥 And thanks for all the nice Grady wishes!

Good Monday Morning!:flower3:

Beautiful weekend!☀️ Rain never came Friday night so we spent most of the retirement party outside on the deck, it was so nice. Saturday I hit up a neighborhood yard sale. Got 2 free soccer balls for the dogs, a new American flag w/pole for $15, very happy with that purchase since they are around $50 at the store. Bought a few odds and ends, probably spent under $20 for everything I bought.

I was exhausted Saturday afternoon so I took a nap and around 7:00 I decided to go out and trim along the fence line in the backyard, fed the birds and fish and then made dinner. The lawn guy that Jacob hired doesn't trim along the fence. He didn't show up all weekend even though my day is Friday so Jacob is letting him go, which makes sense.

Yesterday I worked in the yard all afternoon. I ran up to Home Depot and got some gardening soil and I was planning on getting my plants but I didn't like their selection so I went to the neighborhood nursery and got all my flowers to plant. Came home and spread all the mulch in the front landscaping, I was 1 bag short. I really thought 12 bags would have been plenty. Home Depot is having a sale on the mulch so I'll grab some more tomorrow when I'm in the area. Got all my pots done for the front yard and the deck before I ran out of soil. I'll finish everything up this week. 🌷

Congrats to Sam on his 1st birthday!:bday:

Happy Gothcha Day Grady :jumping1:. I love seeing pictures of him. Glad he had a special day.🙂

Kirby - glad you were able to talk with your son. Hope things keep looking up for him.😊

Guess I should get to work. Going to be hard to work knowing it's sunny and 80 degrees outside!:sunny:

Have a great day!

Good sunny morning all. @Pea-n-Me --You were right, that sounds like a lot of my days. Never enough hours to get everything done. I got the tomato plants staked yesterday, and tested the foundation color to make sure it matched the roof before I start. It's a perfect match. I got out a wire brush and scraped down all the spots where the old paint was peeling and then brushed it all off so it's nice and clean. I may start today, I may not. Waiting to see if painter is going to show up. When she left Friday, she said 'Monday-ish", whatever that means. She could have been a little more specific

I watched all of Idol finale last night, so I'm tired. I was up later than usual, 9:30 is usually bed time. I think the right person won, though I'm sure all 3 of the finalists will go on to have careers in the music business.

Off to force myself to get moving and get something done. I might weed the flower beds that are in the shade for now before we get to 80 degrees.

Have a super Monday!

Good afternoon everyone -

I have salt therapy tomorrow which I am trying out for my anxiety, stress, and sleep issues.
I look forward to hearing how you found it - I've heard great things about it but haven't yet tried it myself (yet!).
Don managed to find 2 owners manuals last night, on the Maytag site.
My new truck came without a Owners Manual - it's all online or wherever thru the truck computer screen. How the hell I'm supposed to look up what is going wrong with it if I can't get it to turn over :confused3 I keep meaning to print it out and stick it in the glove box but I haven't yet.
I forgot to say that today is Grady’s “Gotcha“ Day! :lovestruc So we are making it his birthday.
I'm bad at this, I can barely keep my kids birthdays straight much less remember the dogs! My husband has a good memory for that stuff though, so he will every so often say he thinks it's one of the dogs birthdays-
Stuff is everywhere right now in the house, and it’s driving me crazy.
I feel your pain. Our basement remodel is almost done, walls painted, floor down, bathroom fixtures almost in and kitchenette is done except for putting the fridge & ice maker in. Trim isn't up anywhere yet though, but I did get a nice, big 10 X13 rug for down there but haven't unrolled it yet so I can keep it clean until everything is done. There is crap everyone, or so it seems!

Haven't been that great with keeping up here, not a whole lot new to say or add....I sometimes get tired of typing "xyz and salad for dinner tonight" ! Life is keeping us happily busy and doing this & that-no complaints about that. We did watch the Preakness Saturday (after I was done showing and my mother & I decided to get away from our breeding program- we had over 50 horses at one time ) my parents had two racehorses for a few years, so I still find myself watching from time to time, although I don't follow it religiously. Glad the weather held off so they had a dry run. Yesterday I accidently got a great buy - long story short I needed a new dining room set but every time I went furniture shopping I never really found anything I loved. I found stuff that was ok, and had resolved to just spend to much $$$ on a set that was just ok and not have it for 3 or 4 months when I stumbled upon a Estate Sale online. So I found a simple dining table with 4 (matching) chairs with non-matching upholstery, and it was just over in Annapolis so I ended up bidding just a few bucks, in this case $45 and was the high bidder. We figured worst case scenario it would be a shady deal or the table would look a lot worse in person and we'd be out $45 and the 45 minutes it took to drive to Annapolis and I'd have to order the other stuff. BUT when we got there I was somewhat surprised to find that the table was smaller than I realized - which is good for my needs- and that it was in perfect condition, as were the chairs except there were six of them, not 4. And they were solid cherry and all Ethan Allen! There was a Henkle Harris side table, too - but I didn't bid on it since I didn't need it but now I'm thinking I should have cause I could have gotten a hell of a deal! Anyhow, as you can imagine I was tickled beyond tickled for that get. I know I'll never get that lucky again!
So, at least that is off my list of things to do around the house. I still need two new chairs for the sitting room, and two new bar stools for the kitchen but I'll get to them eventually.

No great plans/exciting things going on this week. I've got my standing every 2 week pedicure appt. on Wednesday, one of the pups has a dr. appt for vaccines on Thursday afternoon, Friday youngest son & wife coming over for the weekend and I'm thinking we will have a cook out at some point over the weekend down by the water.

Baby deer should be showing up any time now, but so far all we've got is button bucks and fat moms down by the food plot. We usually get a set of twins or two so hoping to see if those does are still around. Got my wildflowers in last weekend and this coming weekend we will plow the areas and plant the sunflowers. I also put up a arbor in my mini pumpkin/gourd patch on Sunday. We have gourds that grow up in the woods so I'm interested to see how I make out actually making it a point to train them on the arbor. If it works well I'm going to put a nicer, more substantial & permanent arbor up - right now I just am using a cheapy black metal one I picked up for a little bit of nothing off of Amazon. I hope it's sturdy enough, time will tell I guess.

Welp, time to get back to work. I just wanted to take a few moments and check in.

Well, the painters Monday-ish apparently isn't Monday at all! No show, no call. No response to my voice mail or texts. We are both a little ticked at this point. How long would it take to text and say she can't make it today but will be here tomorrow? We had full sun, but have a few clouds now. I was going to start painting the foundation, but didn't start because I thought she would show up and I'd have to help move things around.

Have a great rest of the day.

:wave:Good Afternoon dear friends,

Sounds like a lot of busy 🐥Remodel🙏all-around!

Easyas, I would love to see a baby 🦌picture. Years ago, dad and I did see closer two mule deer in Yosemite. Of course there are always :santa:reindeer to keep a lookout for at Christmas :)

Thanks to God, dad and I are long safely home. We didn't find much of anything this morning🛍️That's okay. It was a blessing to be able to get out a bit together again. We were both happy to get home. I will look a bit online this afternoon to try and find some craft ideas.

❤️to all. I will come back later :)
