So glad you had a nice lunch, Snowysmom. Oh no about your 📺🙏your son fixes it tomorrow!

Enjoy your flag, Lynn!

Hugs and continued prayers for Tom, Bobbiwoz.

I got a kind surprise in the mail today of a package of birthday postcards to mail out. They have both a🌈and 💜(I think it was purple) on them. I do prefer on decorations or card images no black writing which the Happy Birthday on these are. No complaints only absolute thanks always to the kind person and more so to God for helping make it easier for me to spread (I pray) faith and birthday cheer through the mail. Very thankful. I truly hope each of dear you got some happy mail today, too.

Happy Thursday...I've been busy and out of the house more than usual this week so that's why I haven't posted much...

Its early but I got halloween nails this week.... the middle is more purple than the pictures and it's glow in the dark. Love them.

This weekend is our city celebration. I'll be in the parade again this year riding the float of our friends business. Then we go to the park where they have all the fun.... live bands, games, food, vendor booths. For the first time in a long time, they are having a rodeo and always end the night with fireworks. We go every year with our friends and have so much fun. Sunday, I'm heading out of town with DH for work. Our friends(DHs coworker as well) are also going so it will be nice for us girls to hang out while the guys are working....its been awhile since I've been out of town with him.

Did a big grocery shop this morning, working on laundry tomorrow, helping decorate the float in the evening and then hoping to get to bed early because Saturday will be a early, long day.

Hope you all have a great evening.

Our little thread seems to get smaller and smaller every day with posts.
Sorry I am not posting as much but I have been doing other things.

Tuesday I had y eye exam and knew I'd have to get stronger glasses. The joys of aging.

Wednesday we took the day and went to the Cape Henlopen State Park. Sat by the ocean for a few hours, it was a beautiful day. Walked a mile or so on the beach. Then drove into Rehoboth and walked a bit and ate dinner at Grotto pizza before driving home.

@bobbiwoz , I always forget you are in Cape May. Could definitely see NJ from the park today, It is right by the Cape May - Lewes ferry.

Today I was doing some things I had to get done by Saturday. We are going to the University of Maryland football game. I had a ring neck Tee shirt to wear but hate the tight neck so I changed it into a V neck. And finished a friendship bracelet for Tessa and a hat for Amelia. We are going to a tailgate with everyone who was at the Outer Banks in June. Also grocery shopped.

Tom says the pain comes mostly when getting ready to stand. Once accomplished, not bad at all!
I hope he is icing it. That really helps.

Good night everyone.

Very later night (for me) waving hi with love and wishes for sweet dreams. Came back very briefly only because dad was on the computer, and I wanted to refresh my memory about what all of you kindly said about headphones.

:cheer2:AuntieMe3 and extra grateful to God that you will be enjoying some extra fun! You sure have been through a lot this year, my friend. Did you ever have your bonus/extra birthday celebration? If not, please do! so:hug:

:grouphug:to you as well, dear Carol. Truly also grateful extra to God that you have some fun times ahead, too! I also can't stand a tight necked T! I prefer crew neck but make sure the neck is very thin. I do well remember during the years I worked at church summer camps cutting the necks out because they were SO thick. This idea was given to me by someone who did the same thing. Trouble with that is, of course, the shirt frays. It worked though :)

Extra loving sweet dreams to all!

Happy Friday! :cheer2:

Got everything done yesterday that I was hoping to (grass cutting, cleaned up yard, filled bird feeder, took garbage out, dropped my car off).

Working from home today and no car so I won't be going anywhere. I'll get the house cleaned and laundry done :laundy:. Working until 12:30 so I'll be able to take a nap before I head in for night shift this weekend. Hopefully I can pick my car up after they close and not in the middle of my nap 😴.

I must have been exhausted last night since I haven't been getting much sleep this week. I was in bed and sleeping by 8:45 🥱. I thought I would wake up around midnight since I went to bed so early but I slept straight through the night.

Off to start the laundry, have a great day!

51 outside right now..definitely needed a sweater to walk down and get the paper and feed the cats! Going to be 85 today, so I guess the heat isn't done with us just yet.
I did nothing more yesterday. My back was protesting after pulling out the garden plants. All I plan to do today is pull up the landscape fabric, pass the mower , weedwack the edges, and try to untangle the rest of the morning glories from the garden fence. Painting the doors can wait for a cooler day.
Have a great morning everyone!

Good morning.

@lynxstch , that picture looks like a jigsaw puzzle I did.

Today I have to go to REI at the mall to pick up a gift I ordered for DDIL for her birthday. The advantage is no sales tax. Both DS and DDIL wanted camp/fold up chairs for tailgating. I had them pick the ones they wanted online and bought DS's on Amazon and DDIL's at REI. They have upcoming birthdays so shopping is done. Now I have to fine something for DSIL. The three of them have their birthdays within 3 weeks of each other.

Then this evening have to go to the local cidery to get cider for tasting tomorrow.

Good morning from cooler at the moment LA,

AuntieMe3, I hope you're enjoying the heat break and, of course, are well. Waving hi also to B&B and Frog.

A ferry ride sounds like a lot of fun. Bobbiwoz and Carol, too. I've only been on Tom Sawyer's raft as a young kid, lol.

Pretty picture, Lynn and that would make a great puzzle, Carol!

Get some rest, please, Footballmouse!

How are you doing, PollyannaMom? Thinking of you:hug:

Fleece sounds cozy, Snowysmom! Have a good Friday, my friend.

Dad is soon off to the laundromat and Ralph's. Friday morning usual chores. :cheer2:that he will stay home tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone. Remember to let me know if you'd enjoy the dog postcard. I really would love to send it to one of you :) I'll check back in later.

Hi everyone, hope you all had a decent week.
We've got a sorta family function tomorrow afternoon to attend. I think that is the only thing on the agenda this weekend besides the usual mowing and whatnot. Our barn demo has started, so we will mess with that as well. I didn't prepare for dinner at all this evening, took nothing out of the freezer and I'm not sure what I have that won't need to be defrosted! I'm putz around the freezers and pantry and toss something together. I think we have a bagged salad left, too.
Next week looks to be fairly warm again, with next weekend cooling off. I'm hoping that is the beginning of the end of the very hot weather, I like having the AC off and airing the house out. I think my husband may be going up to Lynns neck of the woods to spend some time with his cousin (sitting around the fire pit, drinking wine and retelling the same hunting and farming stories of the past 40-50 years!) and attending a family reunion on Saturday. I normally go, but we don't have a dog sitter for next weekend and our foster can't be boarded, so I'm staying home w/ them. Truth be told I kinda look forward to a quiet fall weekend at home by myself. I usually do a bit of heavy cleaning, put a few fall decorations up - okay, I get the 2 faux pumpkins out of the closet and put them out :lmao: and get some firewood stacked and ready for that first fire of the year in the sitting room. Sometimes I replace a area rug or two with something new. Sometimes I rearrange furniture....a refresh of the house if you will.

There was 4 full pickup truck loads..and they took the 2 boxes of kindling too
Wow - you must have been very popular! That's a fair bit of wood and kindling.
I just tore the garden out
I think we may do that on Sunday, or possibly tomorrow evening depending on when we get back.
My TV that I have in the living room did not have sound when I turned on the TV. The picture is fine and everything else works except he volume control on the samsung remote does not make the sound go up and down when I press the button. The remote itself is fine. I have my office TV on and have the sound loud enough that I hear it in the living room. I am sure I pressed something by accident but I am not adventurous enough to try to fix it. I looked at a few settings but that is it. Younger DS is coming over tomorrow morning after they drop off the kids at school. He will probably fix it in a minute. I did check the remote batteries and to be sure it is not on mute. But I am still sure I did something very stupid.
I am forever having issues with remotes like this. It's as if they deliberately make them with more buttons and more obnoxiously complicated than need be!
Its early but I got halloween nails this week..
Oh - nice! I'm going back to my gel nails next month (I take a break from them in the spring & summer when I'm using my hands so much outside). For the past 3 years I wore the exact same color w/o any change. I'm thinking of changing things up and doing different colors now...mostly because I can't figure out what I did with that bottle of nail polish, I usually leave it with the gal who does my nails but took it with me last year and now I've no idea where it's at! I had my toes done on Wednesday night and went with a nice fall/halloweenish dark purple. I've never done designs or different color on different nails before, I'm pretty boring in my color choices.

A refresh of space sounds nice, Easyas and also a way to perhaps transition into a new season as well. Have a good weekend!

Warmed up here. All-around wonderful day. Dad received more blessings of medical news. Grace of God a million percent, every day, of course, in all. No matter what. We are so grateful beyond. All is well.

Wishing all of you a great rest of the afternoon. Snowysmom, I truly hope by now your TV is up and running again just fine!

Lynn You are so busy as usual. It makes me tired just to read what you are doing.

Thinking of PollyAnnaMom and her DS. Also thinking of Frog3101 and dazedx3.

@bobbiwoz Hope recoveries are going well for you and your DH.

I worked today and then went grocery shopping. I have vacuumed half the condo, I did the other half yesterday. My TV miraculously has sound back this morning. Younger DS was going to come over to take a look after he dropped of the kids at school. I thought I would just check the TV and voila, sound. I am baffled. I can get spooky and think that Chris was being mischievous with me or that he fixed it. I did look at some settings yesterday but when I turned off the TV last night there was no sound coming out of it. Now there is. I will not complain but be very thankful.

Tomorrow younger DS and I will be going to Joe's apt to take what we need. Then the apt manager will come in to get the DVDs we are leaving for her as well as see if there is anything she wants to sell at the little boutique they have at the complex. Then I will call the guy who cleans out apts and hopefully that will be that. We hope this is our last time to the apt. DS will take the car to his house until we are able to sell it. It is alot of work but Joe was such a nice guy and you do for family. No questions.

We leave for WDW in 4 weeks. I am getting clothes ready and toiletries. I am going to buy fruit tootsie rolls to lure older DS's oldest DS into the plane. I may need to leave a trail of tootsie rolls for him. He is a bit skittish about going as he thinks all rides are scary. He has seen you tube videos of the rides so he knows what he likes. I also told him about the resort and pool time in the afternoon. On the other hand, my older DGD is so excited that she is tall enough to ride everything. We have plans to ride the roller coasters.

I talked with one of the guys on my floor who bought new 7 years ago. He asked me if I was settling in. No, but I am not telling him that. He said we have a good building. He said some of the other buildings have had issues with pipes rupturing and other issues. That is a bit unnerving to me. It makes me feel good about my decision to look for a town house in older DS's town. DS knows a woman who sells real estate in his town so I hope to meet with her in January. It won't hurt to get someone looking for properties. I will also call a real estate agent in this area. I may use the one who sold this unit as he seemed very knowledgeable and personable. This time I can, if needed, store my furniture and stay with older DS until I buy in his town. I know the real estate market may be an issue but the market for my condo is a niche market anyway and what I am looking for is too.

Have a nice evening.

We hope

I am forever having issues with remotes like this.
When my mother was living after my dad died, her vision was really declining with macular degeneration. She would watch tv but had trouble with all the buttons. I would get there and all the onscreen instructions would be in Spanish, which was a problem for me. Eventually we were able to get a universal remote with less buttons.
We leave for WDW in 4 weeks.
Yay! That is close to when we leave for Sanibel.

How are you doing, PollyannaMom? Thinking of you:hug:
Thinking of PollyAnnaMom and her DS.

Last night was really rough, then today was really good. Then this evening was kind of rough again...but he was able to get to sleep better - so fingers crossed. (I am headed for bed very soon too.)

Thanks, everyone, for the concern!

Tom’s health evaluation was today, and he did fine! Up and down from recliner to stand was this job, he did 5 in 30 seconds, I think that was good!

He’ll have home PT twice a week.

If we weren’t concerned about where Gus is at any time during the night, Tom would be sleeping in bed, not recliner. Tom learned he could easily get up from the bed. It really was a good evaluation and learning experience.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good morning.
@PollyannaMom I hope your DS feels better soon. The ups and downs are hard but hopefully it will be all good soon.

It is 46 degrees here now. I was actually a bit chilly outside even with my fleece. It felt kind of nice for now. Ask me again in 3 months.

Off to do some cleaning at Joe's apt.

Have a nice day.
