Looks like we are done with rain for a couple of days. Our 10 day forecast shows a chance of rain beginning Sunday. Our highs are in the 80's through the next week which is wonderful and very unusual for August.

I do have a request for prayers though. My daughters BFF, who I regard as my daughter from another mother, needs them Her husband was in a serious accident at work today and he broke both his legs in several places. He needs surgery in the morning unless they can't get the pressure down in his right leg. He is diabetic so that complicates things. Please say a prayer for him and the doctors who will be treating him that the surgeries are successful and he is back on his feet quickly.

Woke up to a text that DDil is back at the hospital, 6 cm dilated and has been given an epidural, so it looks like some progress. Text came at 1:30am, and it's 4am now. Baby XX is on the way, I figure.

edit: 9cm dilated at 7am.

It is a cool sunny morning. The sun is coming up later so when I walk it is not as bright. I can see I will have to adjust my walking time down the road. I talked with older DS last night. He is really taking the kids into consideration in the divorce. I think he was glad to be able to decompress with me and talk about all the things he is going through. He just has a slight cough from covid and feels fine otherwise.

Off to work. I have tomorrow off. Younger DS and I will most likely be going to the nursing home to tell Joe's sister. I am not sure now she will react, especially with having dementia. We don't think she should go to the funeral and the nursing home agrees. After we see Joe's sister I am having lunch with a friend. We were supposed to be going couch shopping but I have to put the off until we have everything settled with Joe. Couches will still be there in a few weeks.

Good Thursday morning everyone!

Sunny and hot today.

Went to Ds1's game last night, they won . Didn't do much else. I was going to take the dogs for a quick walk after work but it was way too hot.

Baby XX is on the way

That's exciting news! Hoping for a quick, safe and easy delivery.

Younger DS and I will most likely be going to the nursing home to tell Joe's sister.

Good luck with relaying the bad news . I'm sure she won't understand what you're talking about or who you're talking about but at least you're letting her know. It's nice of you to continue sending her the books like your cousin did.

Good morning all~ Heat wave is back. Cool 59 now, but will be near or above 90 later and humid. Glad yardwork is done. Handyman never appeared Tues or Wed, so hoping he comes today to put the finishing touches on the door trim.

Nothing new around here. Mr L still feeling the same, not great, but not bad. Have to go run though the garden and pick some tomatoes before they go bad. We are starting to get some rotting on the bottoms of some..has been the weirdest garden weather ever this year. Have to play tomato fairy with the neighbor, as we can't eat them all. I did roast a couple of batches of cherry ones and have them in the freezer

I have cherry tomatoes out there needing to be picked and I want to try roasting them. Can't concentrate right now so have to regroup and get some stuff done! I want to be ready to go see Baby XX when she comes!

Good morning all! Having trouble getting back into the swing of things since we've been home - I miss putting in 18,000 steps each day but seem to be excelling at the couch potato Olympics!

I had my son drive during errands for the last few days - he's coming along, but this city is full of impatient people and while I'm so proud of him for learning to drive, it did cause me a bit of anxiety sitting next to him and thinking about the accident just a few nights ago. I suppose worry is part of a mother's burden, but I can occasionally go down the spiral, as I've had so much loss in my life, I can't begin to imagine what I would do if something happened to him. I wanted a large family, so he bears the burden of carrying the love I would have had for ten children! OK, I NEVER would have had TEN children, but three would have been a nice number!

In her memory I planted a Bleeding Heart because she always liked them.

That whole story keeps getting better! Amazing when things like that happen. I love the idea of planting a memory garden - I have a brilliant red maple for my mum, a conifer for my uncle, a California lilac for my aunt, and told my ex that we could go to the nursery to choose something for our friend who just passed away. He helped us build our house and was with us throughout, so it seems fitting.

I know Chris will be with us. He wouldn't miss it

He will be, and I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. I hope that I will have the opportunity to have grandkids and introduce them to the world of Disney (I'd best start saving now though - it's definitely getting out of reach of normal families...)

Dad's visit went fine and he is on his way home

Thank you so much, Canadisney Fly I thank God every day for His presence always with and within me and my dad, too and that He has further blessed us both with His steadfast love and protection, our health and this time closer together. Miracle. When I was a kid, I dreamt of having a large family! This was YEARS before any of the families, but I also had the idea that a lot of the kids would have J names. When I got older, a bigger brood still appealed to me but lol not all with J names necessarily! I also sincerely wanted to adopt kids in need of a loving home. God graced with getting to I pray be a positive and faithful influence to a variety of children over my life through teaching and church. How blessed I am for them all.

Dad is off on some morning shopping errands, all local and very close to each other. That is one handy thing about this area.

Thinking of you, Pea and all Quackers on vacation right now, and who haven't yet posted this morning too.

Love the pictures from/about and all the future plans of Disney. DD and I were just saying we miss Disneyland. We used to have passes and went at least once a month when we did...pre-Covid, of course.

It's been HOT and humid here the last week so I've been an antisocial hermit. LOL I did get to go to lunch with Baby A and her momma earlier this week so that was nice. She's getting so big and always soo happy to see me.

Thinking of you all always even when I'm not posting.

God Bless Baby A, dear AuntieMe3, I am so glad you got to visit with her and her mom. It has been warm around here indeed. I was last at DL in May of 2019 which seems like a lifetime ago now! Prayers you get back safely to have fun with soon. God-willing one year, I will love to meet you either at DL or somewhere else

I forgot to add I got a hummingbird picture. Last week while my niece was here, we went up to my dad's and this was out their front window. This was a chubby one chasing all the other ones away from the feeder. He(she??lol) literally was double the size of the others. We were laughing watching them.

I was so busy trying to see her little face I missed the duck!

Her name is Quinn Amelia (plus last name) and she is 7 pounds 3 ounces.

Details are coming slowly. I'm going over tomorrow morning after the traffic dies down. It's easily an hour and a half drive and worse in traffic.
