I love this :thumbsup2

I go so rarely she might not even know I'm there. But, I have a neighbor who is my friend who is also of this mindset.

I've risked alienation by pointing out it's not her land and is actually parking spot for anyone. My property will allow 4 cars parked along my frontage and usually 2 do park there. Doesn't bother me at all. I don't spend my day looking out my front window, and if I need a spot, ie I'm cleaning my driveway, I can usually find one.

Get this: friend/neighbor went out of town on Thursday, returning on Tuesday. They drive one vehicle and left the other two parked in front, taking up the spaces that others could use, leaving their 3 car driveway empty. Granted, it's a single file driveway and sometimes shuffling has to occur to get in and out, but I consider it just mean. The homes that usually need more spaces have extra adults/older kids living with them and everybody has cars.

So I missed a key reservation for WDW and now am scrambling a bit - the new Space 220 lounge is part of the whole Star Wars themed new attractions that my DS and I really wanted to see. Not sure why I didn't have it on the list, and am now obsessively checking to see if there's a chance we can get in. Just for a drink in the lounge and to see the place - the dinner menu doesn't look all that suitable for us. Unfortunately, and the standby line is for the bar only, and you have to be 21 (DS is only 16). Sigh. At least we managed to get Oga's for an evening drink.

I've tried to book a few buffets to get out of the midday heat and have something for everyone - I booked 50's Prime Time for HK, Boma for our AK day, Crystal Palace for MK - not because I like it, but because it's a large park, and will get us out of the sun for a few hours. I know my son loved Chef Mickey's in the past, but with so many restaurants to choose from, I'm hoping to try a few new ones (and really - I'm sure it was the bottomless bacon at Chef Mickey's that was the REAL attraction for him!). Oh - and managed to get tickets to the Hoop de Doo review - we've never been, so that was a bit of an extra treat. I CAN'T believe how expensive everything is tho...
He will be moving out this weekend.
Can't imagine that day, but I'm sure it will be here soon enough. I always wanted a large family, and it's just my son and I now. Might be time to start dating... 😱😨
I was going to try to make a peach pie or cobbler
Rolled oats, butter, a bit of brown sugar, fruit... what could be finer? If I make a cobbler, I tell myself that it's nothing more than granola and fruit so there is no guilt when I have it for breakfast ::yes::
It was turned off!
Ha! The BEST kind of repair. I remember as a kid, the lifecycle of a fridge as being a) kitchen for 20+ years; then to the garage or basement as the beverage/beer (or bait!) fridge for another 10+ years; then out to the cottage or to live out its retirement with someone whose 30+ year fridge had failed, and yours was still running. There were a lot of garages with avocado and harvest gold fridges in my childhood...
He was very handy like your husband is.
My ex built our house, but I believe the "go to work" and then "come home and work" lifestyle contributed to the demise of our marriage, so I am VERY careful not to ask him for advice/help if something came up (I bought him out of the house and thankfully, I'm very handy). However, lately he has been offering to help out and it's so good to have landed at this place.
Went to my workout yesterday.
Good for you!!! Is it a workout class or do you have your own routine? I buy these four-week on-line bootcamp passes, and introduced my team to them last year when we were up north for a month. Nothing like working out with the early-thirties crowd to motivate you to keep up! They're still up north, so I "saw" them on boot camp zoom this morning - and the instructor knows us now and jokes around, so it's a bit of a comedy routine along with exercise.

t's the bait fridge/freezer...do you see what I have to live with!?!?!?!
::yes::. Yep. My friend is trying to get me to go on an online dating app - I am absolutely serious when I say that a) 50% of the men post pictures with a FISH; and 50% of the men post pictures with their MOTORCYCLE. And the vast majority of those men post photos OF BOTH. Now - no judgement here, as I used to ride a motorcycle (past tense, so not interested now), and ironically, I have a serious fish allergy 🤣, so it doesn't exactly look like my crowd. Yep, destined to spend my golden years as a recluse, writing children's books about sloths!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Friday 🐥

Dad is doing :laundy: and then headed to Ralph's 🛒 We're expecting Walmart and Amazon packages today. Informed Delivery from the mail shows some fun mail coming from friends along with yet another unwanted solicitation from the same organization I keep trying to get to stop sending me mail! :P I wish they would save their money. I have thought about writing return to sender on the envelope but not sure that would work. I've also considered spending a stamp to return it and include a polite note to please remove me. I have called in the past and may just try to go that route again first. Small thing indeed! :)

:grouphug:Taz on your grandmother. What a sweet and special way to celebrate her. My own grandma as I have shared before loved ice cream 🍨and all things sweet. Perhaps in Heaven the two of them are enjoying a treat together right now. Much prayers on the shoe ordeal at least having a happy ending! A very Happy Birthday :cake:wish to you, tomorrow!

Thanks, Snowysmom. Short, themed word searches especially, can be fun. Summer Word Search for some quick fun. I’m grateful to God to hear Joe is comfortable, that is such a blessing. May he enjoy his muffins! I wish you a quick and easier workday🌷

What a nice way to surprise your boys, Footballmouse. Dad got himself some 🍑 flavored Perrier water yesterday at 99. Go you! Do take care though. God Bless the nurses who provided loving care to Fiona the 🦛! I’m glad your sons still have good memories of character meals. Fun times with family truly are precious memories to hold and enjoy sharing years in the moment, of course, and years later.

PollyannaMom, 🙏 you have fun and do very well at the flea market sale! I look forward to hearing about it and would have enjoyed helping you with it. ITA with you about antics. I am not or have ever been a joke person at all. Somehow, someone ends up being hurt. Not me or for me. For character meals, Minnie’s was fun a couple times because it was quieter dining with characters visiting with each family. No loud music or parades or jokes, etc. It was a different and quicker way than waiting in lines to get pictures with characters. I would not care for a louder version of that!

Hooray for your doing nothing morning, Lynn! Stick to that plan, please and take care! How is Mr. L feeling?🙏

B&B, your management company sounds like my own. They sure gave us no notice other than probably a flier taped to our door a day or two at most before, two years ago with the new doors and windows. We definitely had zero say in choosing to get them. I am glad you are getting a new roof and that the company is paying for it! Hug, :cheer2:hooray for beginning your vacation countdown. That’s fun.

Yikes, Judique, what an ordeal for sure! Wish neighbors would choose to be neighborly! Much prayer you enjoy a peaceful weekend! 🌺

Glad to hear you have an easier Friday ahead, Easyas! You do so much. I hope you enjoy your dinner 🥪tonight, too. How are your dogs :dogdance:doing?

 Canadisney Fly, so glad you were able to get some wanted reservations in general and that will allow you an escape from the heat and park stimulation as well.

Have a good one everyone! I will check back later.

Good morning/afternoon! 🐥

My cousin has a fridge in his cellar/family room that is from the 1950s. It’s still going strong. I believe his parents got it when they first got married, then stuck it down there when they remodeled. I truly think this thing will never die. He just keeps drinks in it, and I don’t think it gets opened very often. We have three fridges running here - our kitchen, an old side by side in our cellar, and a fridge in the in-law apt. (No wonder our electric bills are so high!) We do use all of them.

I would not want to live somewhere where everyone was watching our every move. Where we live people don’t bother you. When we first moved in we had two older ladies who would say things, but eventually they moved. The place we’d like to retire to would be an HOA but I think our lifestyle would be a lot different at that point. But definitely something to think about.

I loved when Disney first offered the MYW dining plans and our kids were still under age 10. Those first years we paid $90/day for the four of us and tips were included and everything. We got to try so many great restaurants then. Now we don’t go to too many restaurants, maybe a few, but the OOP cost for a meal for 6 or 7 people was crazy. It was nice when we went with the kids last year as they each picked up a meal cost (even the boyfriend) so it wasn’t as painful. Generally we prefer to “eat around the world”, especially at the festivals. I also don’t mind cooking some things if we have a kitchen, we had fun last year at the Fort grilling some burgers and cooking breakfast just about every day. Our kids were shy but still enjoyed some of the antics at WCC and PTC. Maya Grill at Coronado Springs Resort is a surprisingly nice place to eat. They have a guitarist (who was playing songs from Encanto recently which DD loved) and we’ve never had a bad meal there.

Did you attempt the cobbler @footballmouse? How did it come out? We have a ton of tomatoes to use, I think we’re going to make a sauce tonight. Maybe meatballs, too. I have to get to the grocery store this afternoon, so I better get moving! Enjoy the day, everyone!

:hug:Pea, I do think older appliances and furniture often were made much better than their counterparts of today! Glad you and your kids still also have some fun character meal memories. I enjoy hearing about all of your character meal fun. It's great that WDW offers so many choices! DL really doesn't. I've only done Minnie's and Goofy's. Goofy's to me was very disappointing. Even, dad said the food was lacking (he will eat anything) and agreed that our experience could have been any buffet restaurant with a random character here and there. I remember we went on my birthday and had hoped it would be more fun. Oh well. The best part was taking our picture for free by a large plate and silverware out front of the hotel. We did get a picture with Goofy at the start of the meal. Minnie's was much cuter and all-around a better experience. These days, a character meal wouldn't be worth it for me due to the cost and also because I would prefer to eat my own food beforehand. It still would be such fun to do Minnie's sometime with all of my Quacker family. Or maybe we can just wait in some character lines together for free :)

Do any of you use Instagram? I don't use any social media. Not for me. I would appreciate a PM from any of you who may have an Instagram account. I am wondering whether it is possible for me (no account) to view a video posted to Instagram. Thank you!

This afternoon as DD and I were pulling in the driveway and starting to bring the groceries in, when I swear, all of a sudden it became like Kansas in The Wizard of Oz: the clouds came in fast so it got suddenly dark, then the wind started howling and the trees blowing all over the place, then it started pouring, then thundering and lightening, etc. Scary! (You might remember we were hit by lightening before.) We literally ran to get everything in without the door blowing off! DS was on a nearby golf course by the farthest hole and had to run off! That was a couple of hours ago. Now we have that beautiful sunny glow and I’m betting there’s a rainbow out there somewhere! And it was good we didn’t hear any sirens as we heard something hit pretty close by, we were checking our property to make sure it wasn’t us. 😕 (What an awful day that was, we had a large fire and all!)

Hello and welcome to early Saturday AM.
I am just popping in to ask for extra prayers for my kids. This is their first weekend with their dad and my oldest is a wreck. She texted me the entire first hour saying that he was yelling at her and cussing and interrogating her. She had asked him if she really had to come and told him she didn't want to. He told her he did not care. He told her I had been keeping her and her siblings from him all summer and that it was his turn. When she got there he told her she needs to grow up and he's not going to put up with her sh**. Asked her why she didn't stand up for his girlfriend when people were rude to her at the event he took her (the girlfriend) to and everyone and their dog was their and talking about how inappropriate it was. That week was supposed to be about my kids and he totally made it about himself. He's so clueless that he couldn't even tell my kids were super upset that he'd brought her. And, who asks a kid to defend the girlfriend or anyone for that matter. Told her bull*** when he asked her if she was hungry and she said no.
I am heartbroken and angry. If an adult treated another adult like that they'd be fired or publicly prosecuted if the evidence got released online. But, the courts think that this is ok for my kids to be exposed to that. I sent my lawyer screen shots of the texts and she basically said there is nothing I can do unless I want to call the police for a well child check. I can't do that cause it will just make it so much worse. I feel like my hands are tied. I still am going to ask my lawyer if my daughter has any change to be able to talk to the judge. I think that the visits would go much better if she wasn't forced and didn't have to spend the night. At least to start. at 14 I just really feel like she should have a say.
Ok, I hope everyone is doing ok. I will try to check tomorrow and respond more to others.

Good morning all. They say 84 and sunny today, but right now it's pitch black and looks like rain. I guess it got really bad out to the East. Smith Island had a tornado come through :(

I just saw your post @frog3101 and it makes me so angry and sad for you and the kids. You already know what I think of him, my opinion only gets worse and worse with everything you post. Totally unacceptable to treat your daughter (or any of them) like that. She should just keep saying as little as possible to him, whenever possible. I still say she should record it on her phone, if possible, the next time he starts that with her. If you can't do anything other than call the police for a well check, what are you supposed to do, wait until she runs away instead of staying there? :( :( :( Maybe if they did do a well check, it would be her chance to tell her side of the story in what is going on? At least then there would be a police record of it? This time it's only for the weekend, what is going to happen when he has them for a week? Sending you more prayers and hugs.

I am back to not falling asleep till 2 or 3 am, no idea why. Going to try a couple of Tylenol PM tonite and see if that helps. Bed is stripped and remade, garden gone through and more tomatoes picked. Back is still a little stiff and sore, so going to take it kind of easy today. Not a lot that needs to be done anyhow.

Sister in law having yet more issues. Now the has to have an MRI -her optic nerve seems swollen, they think it is tympanic membrane disease
which my niece also has. I am beginning to think she has Munchhausen Syndrome. Everything the niece has, SIL is starting to have, or thinks she has. I guess she's planning on going to the hospital today to get the MRI done.

Have a nice morning eveyrone~

Frog Sending prayers to you. I would hope there would be something you could do about the situation. I know it is hard right now with everything not being permanently settled. Is there a chance your oldest could speak about her wishes and how things are when she visits her Dad? The wellbeing of the kids is the first and foremost priority in this whole situation.

@Pea-n-Me What a scary storm. Here, north of Boston, it got really dark and a bit windy, and then downpours. There were a couple rumbles of thunder. After that it cleared up and the sky was blue and the sun was out.

I did grocery shopping this morning with a meltdown on aisle 6. They were playing music and one song that came on made me really think of Chris and when we were dating so the waterworks started. I had to rush through the rest of the store and checkout quickly. Chris was really into music especially the 60s and 70s. We dated in the 70s so there are alot of songs that we listened to and sang along with in the car. We were kids in the 60s and loved that music too. So many memories but I am still at the point of sadness when I think of them. The other day out of the blue I got a picture in my head of the pasta fagioli soup I used to make. I said I wasn't going to make it anymore because Chris loved it. I took it as a sign to please make it again. I have all the ingredients on the counter for Monday. I will see if I can do it. The past couple of days have been really tough for me.

Younger DS and I will be going to see Joe. Then I am going to DS's house to visit with the grandkids. I bought Sam a onesie with Simba on it and they too a picture of him wearing it. He is so cute in it. I know he would be. Tomorrow I go to older DS's house to watch youngest DGS. DS has a wedding to go to, older DGS has a party and a show, so younger DGS and I will chill out inside. It is supposed to be 95 so not outside. Their yard is very sunny and hot.

Have a good day and stay cool.

lynxstch Do you think your SIL is having anxiety issues now? Chris went through similar issues with always having health issues and going to the doctor including thinking he had bladder cancer or something else similar or that he was having a heart attack. His mother died of bladder cancer so he thought he was getting the same thing. Older DS and I convinced him it was panic and anxiety which he was diagnosed when we got him to his PCP. Your SIL has been having a tough time so just thinking about that. I know my anxiety is sky high now. Sorry about your sleep issues. It makes for a long tired night when you can't sleep. I hope the tylenol PM works tonight.

Thanks Snowysmom--Mr L and I have been thinking the same thing about his sister. Now that everything has settled down for them somewhat. Paperwork done, accounts taken care of, insurance paid out, etc. That she is now having more time to just do nothing and think, and possibly create issues for herself. I am going to mention it to her to ask one of her many Dr's ,to see if they can diagnose that she has panic or anxiety issues. I appreciate the suggestion! She has always claimed to have this and that , ever since I have known her, but it seems to be getting a lot worse the last few weeks ~~
Sorry you are still having so much anxiety. I had tears in my eyes reading your post a few minutes ago , about your meltdown at the store. I know how much music and songs are parts of our memories, be they good or bad. There are still songs I hear sometimes, that remind me of my ex, some of the good times that were had. Some of them still make me sad, and even though I found Mr L and am happy, it still hurts sometimes to think back on things that happened over those 28 years, that have songs associated with them. I grew up in the 60's and 70's also, and so much of the music was 'love songs'. I hope being with your grandchildren today helps you get over the hurdle, at least for today. I still say you have come a long way, proven that you are stronger than you thought you could be. One day at a time, that's all you can do. At least Chris sends you signs telling you he's still watching over you. Please do make that pasta fagioli soup this week, and enjoy it! :grouphug:

Good morning!

Kids went home last night so that gives me a restful morning. No breakfast to make.

Old orange cat is doing great! He hasn't finished his antibiotic or special food yet, but is eating well and loose stools are gone.

Meanwhile, younger orange and white cat has similar symptoms. He's 9 years old and now he's got loose stool for the last few days and not eating much, when usually he cleans his dish and tries to eat the other cats food. He gets fed urinary tract food due to having crystals. Called vet's office this morning and he's going to go early Monday morning. Told to feed him the veterinary food and probiotic that was prescribed for older cat.

I suspect this is a food issue as both cats have been eating the dry urinary tract food in addition to their various wet foods. The Persian is still fine but she will not eat the dry. She is 13 years old. Also, the outdoor cat stopped eating the dry stuff and will only eat the canned food. He just leaves the dry in the bowl. It's the last few pounds or so of a 16 pound bag of Purina Urinary tract food, which younger cat has been eating for years. Older cat has eaten it since last year with no problems until now. I divide it into 2 containers that seal when I buy it, but it may be possible it's gone stale. I'm going to toss the last few pounds and buy something else later today.

I stopped offering the dry food to outdoor kitty a couple of days ago, when 2nd cat appeared unwell. he seems just fine but I will be keeping a close eye on him, even if it means a trip to the vet. $$$ - hate it that this is so expensive, but would never let them go without care.

Saturday :grouphug:and ❤️to all!

Frog, your post broke my heart and made me so angry as well for you and your kids. ITA with Lynn! Call your lawyer now. Call CPS or the ask the Police for a Well Check. Does your Ex live near neighbors? Perhaps they can hear? :( I would also have your DD record on her phone so sadly she has proof. SHE should not for one second have to be in that situation no matter what.

Lynn, hugs to you as well, and I agree with Snowysmom and you and Mr. L, too! Much prayer all-around. How is your back doing? Prayers it is better!

Snowysmom,🌼and a ton of love and care always! Hooray for good memories and grandkids, too and YOU!

Paws and prayers continued for your cats, Judique!

Speaking of cats, thinking of you, PollyannaMom. Hope your cats let you sleep and that you are doing well at the flea market!

Have a good Saturday, friends.

Good morning! 🐥 (Oops, afternoon now since I finished writing!)

We had some tree damage from that quick little storm we had yesterday, lots of branches hanging down very low now and we may have to trim some back. It wouldn’t surprise me if we hear that some sort of small tornado blew through here later, but I haven’t seen anything like that confirmed as of yet. It was just a wild few minutes the likes of which I haven’t seen before!

Frog, I am sad for your daughter and agree that recording the verbal abuse could be helpful. I would also call it that, which it is. If anything, he should be sensitive to her feelings and needs right now, and he’s not. What a tool. 😬

Snowysmom, sorry you had a rough go in the store hearing the song. I could imagine how that happens - I love 60s and 70s music, too. I recently connected to an old friend I grew up with and we’ve been talking a lot about the memories from some songs that we have. Turns out some of them are the same ones. I think you should make the soup, for sure, unless you won’t eat it, though if that happens, maybe your sons and their families will enjoy it. Hugs.

Judique, interesting that the other cat has it now, too. No blood? The blood was concerning in the first cat! I agree it could be the food, or something else infectious. Glad you threw it out. Maybe check in w FDA website to see if there have been any recalls. It’s so unfortunate there are so many problems with pet foods and treats.

My brother’s new cat went missing overnight, and they went crazy looking for her in the house, under beds and in crevices, etc. Big house, no luck. Till they checked the garage and there she was sitting right inside the door! I guess somehow she had followed him out there but he didn’t know. I’ve had that happen many times with Toto in the in-law apt. I go in to do laundry or something and don’t realize he goes in as well, then later realize I haven’t seen him in a while, open the door and he’s patiently sitting there!

I knew there was something I wanted to comment on but forgot what it was. Just remembered. A few of you mentioned you honeymooned in Disney. That’s so cool! DH’s brother and his wife did, too (Caribbean Beach) and I remember at the time that being a head-scratcher to us. But we had never been to Disney at that point. Once we went, we understood. We honeymooned in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We brought our German Shepherd with us, and the three of us hiked the mountains and streams, it was so nice. Our anniversary is late September, so it is a beautiful time up there with the foliage in bloom. We didn’t stay at any fancy hotel as we had no money at that point, spent the last of our bitty savings on our small outdoor wedding (which I now think was dumb; should’ve just eloped or had a small dinner somewhere). A friend lent us their adorable little trailer, which was perfect for us.

After shopping yesterday we cleaned out the fridge and put all the groceries away. I was drenched (with sweat and rain) and pooped. When DH got home I had everything ready to go to make a sauce from our garden tomatoes, with meat, and he went to work. We had a few things in the fridge to use up (even some peach salsa) that we threw in the sauce and it came out really good, everyone loved it. (DD’s boyfriend made a special trip over to have some even though normally he doesn’t like tomatoes, somehow he likes sauce, and even seemed to like the mushrooms in it, lol.) Even after that we had a lot of tomatoes left over, so we’ll likely do another one soon and freeze it if need be.

Still more…

Have a good rest of the weekend, everyone!

Here we go again with SIL. She is at Ruby in Morgantown. No idea why she went all the way there today, when all they told her was that the opthamologist would call on Monday and make an appt for her to get an MRI. They said they are going to MRI her entire brain. Then they told her they would admit her and do whatever treatment needed to be done? So now they are out there, she's beside herself that she might get admitted. Our niece cannot function on her own without Mommy, so my guess is she will stay at the hospital with her if she can.

She won't drive that distance herself,,and they have cats that need to be fed. She never gave us a key to their house, so we can't just go and do it. The chickens will also need to be fed. Mr L has a thing about live chickens (his uncle threw one at him when he was young) and won't go near them. I have never been near any that were kept as pets/or for the eggs. I guess she can call one of her husbands brothers to have them do it, but I don't think they have a house key either. I have asked her repeatedly to give us one in case of an emergency.

Its 87 and very warm outside. I weedwacked the whole yards, inside and outside the garden and the bank. I was dripping wet and covered in grass when I came in so took a cool shower. Dinner is going to be leftovers. He has coconut shrimp, I have some chicken salad.
@Pea-n-Me --cats are sneaky like that. I have found mine in the weirdest places

Your tomato bowl looks like ours, but we have some larger tomatoes, and a whole lot of cherry ones. I don't grow sauce tomatoes, as it's too much work for the 2 of us. We don't use sauce often enough to use it up. I open a jar, use what we need, and put the rest in freezer containers in until we need it again.
Have a nice rest of the afternoon

:grouphug:Lynn, I'm sure sorry to hear additional health issues for your SIL. I know all the added emotional stress/drama must not be easy on you and Mr. L either. Thinking of all of you and as always you're in my prayers.

What an awesome honeymoon, Bobbiwoz, an island would be. I truly hope you and your DH enjoyed every minute of that experience!

Pea, the 🐈knew he wasn't lost. Love that Toto did the same thing though, can only imagine the anxiety you felt when you thought he had gone missing! I do remember once when he was a very young puppy Champ running away and how scared we were because of, course, puppies don't always listen/ Thank God, he was safely brought home. A WDW honeymoon would be very memorable, of course, too!

Warm early afternoon. Thankfully relatively quiet around here.
I apologize for forgetting this morning. Happy (official) Birthday, dear Taz! :cake:Prayers you are enjoying a wonderful day, my friend. Thinking of you!

Hug to all!
