need to go and sweep and wet swiffer the kitchen and bathroom floors. Have a load of laundry in and that may be it for major chores. Mr L somehow managed to catch a cold, so he's coughing and stuffy. I told him to call his PCP and get something before it gets worse, but you guys know men,,they refuse to listen. I am betting he waits till tomorrow, when she does not work to do it.
Those are similar symptoms to what my daughter had when she tested. I don't know if Mr. L has been anywhere recently to get himself exposed, but I'm betting if he calls his doc, they will tell him to get tested. It's probably best to err on the side of being highly cautious right now and to move quickly, as if you test + within 5 days of symptoms you can get an antiviral for us over 60's and with other risk factors. A cold is not always a cold anymore. Could be just a cold virus or could be another virus.

Take care of him and yourself.

Mr L has already used 2 home tests, they were both negative. He purposely took them so he would be within the 5 day range if he needed to get something for it. Thank you for the concern, and for the well wishes. I feel much better today, and I haven't heard him coughing in hours, so maybe his is going away too.

Yes, please take care indeed Lynn and of Mr. L! Just read your post and praise God! Continued healthy prayers to you both!

Frog, as always, continued prayers especially for a routine to sooner than later settle in and become one that works for you and the kids! Meantime, there ought to be some basic communications guidelines such as respect 100% of the time by him toward you and the kids! Never should you need to put up with anything less, my friend.

I hope everyone who is under the weather feels better soon.

Frog I hope things can settle down a bit especially after the 7 day visits and once the school year starts. It sounds like texting will be a help down the road when the custody arrangements are solid.

Envious of those planning the WDW trips. But, soon I will be planning and making the one ADR we are doing for the kids. I will be trying to get Tusker House character lunch for 11 people. I have to call for that. Lots of time on the phone but I will start early. Just 2 more weeks for that phone call. I am planning on making an ADR for one for Rose and Crown for the afternoon I plan to be in Epcot myself. I like to people watch and I can read the map pamphlet or be on my phone. I need to know if I can do this stuff myself. If not, the family is only a monorail ride away.

I went to the attorney today and signed the paperwork which puts the condo in trust that I control and then the kids get the condo when I pass. No probate. Also did the power of attorney and health care proxy signings. I feel better now. I also had to go to the post office to send off some crossword puzzle books to Joe's sister, also Chris' cousin and mine too of course. Joe asked me to keep her in crossword puzzle books and chocolate. She has dementia so I am not sure how she does with the crosswords and even Joe said that. So I mixed in some word searches which may be easier for her. All large print books so it will be easy to read.

So hot today. At one point the car thermometer said 100 degrees. I did 2 walks, one at 6 am and on at 9:45 am. I am done for the day. Too hot to go out. I cleaned the soaking tub and the other bathroom tub and shower. I don't use either one but they need to be cleaned so they don't collect dust.

Stay cool and have a good evening.

Good evening! 🐥

I had a lot of task-y stuff to do today. 😬 We were going to go out to dinner but BIL came by to borrow a tool so we held off, and I just made some spaghetti Aglio E Olio, which was a big hit. I see it made on Instagram all the time but it was my first time making it. Super easy and uses ingredients we mostly have on hand. I didn’t get a picture but I have the recipe here if anyone wants to try it on a night you don’t have a lot of time or energy.

@footballmouse, we drove to FL exactly once, lol, and we had such fun stopping in GA on the way home at a peach farm. I wanted to buy everything in sight! DH said that to do a cobbler, you just take some oatmeal, brown sugar, a little flour and a little butter and mix them together, then put it over the fruit and bake. He does it sometimes here to use up fruit. A little vanilla ice cream is good over it when it’s hot. 😋

I never made it to the supermarket today. We did a pretty good job of using up most of what I bought last week, though. Trying to use up some stuff around the house. Cabinets are full.

Had a hot one today here. I guess the weekend is going to be worse. I have a work stretch coming up, so it won’t matter much to me. I hope everyone can manage to stay cool!

Dumping down rain here for the last hour or so. I mean dumping. The storm drains along this side of the road , are full to the top and can't hold anymore so the water is flooding into the road. Temp dropped from 94 to 74 quickly. Dinner and dishes are done, and I am going to sit and relax. I took a hot bath before dinner,,my back is aching. But all my chores are done, including the lawn, so I can take a break tomorrow.
Have a nice evening~~

Character meals are a lot of fun, Snowysmom. Yiu are so kind to book them for the kiddos, they will love the experience. I love what you said about your family only being a monorail ride away. Taht truly sounds idea to me because it allows you some you time if you want along with family fun. Dad, as I have shared, sure loves doing crosswords. He only last month finished all his birthday newspaper puzzles. He has all his crossword books that people gifted him, too. He's well-supplied with puzzles at the moment. I only have patience and enjoyment out of quicker crosswords or word finds generally meant for kids just because they are more fun to do. Dad and I both enjoy Dollar Tree's Super Play Pad Jumbos. variety for only $1. 25. Take care please and keep cool!

Glad you stocked up, Pea! Sorry it's so hot there for you as well.

Hug, Lynn, sad face as my "like" due to your poor back. Prayers you feel much better after a good night's rest!

Thankful Thursday extra was talking with Barbara Ann and texting with another friend. Grateful dad made a dentist appointment (he's overdo) and was easily able to reschedule my own cleaning which works out perfectly to only being 1 week later. I go so often, every 2 months because, easier for me TMJ wise. The original appointment was actually early, later in August, so this new appointment September 1st, is better all-around. Bonus Blessing? By going in plus by going in September rather than later August, my next appointment will be in early November. No need to go back until January. Why does this matter? Because it will save us $104. Otherwise, I would have possibly gone August-October-December. This way I'll be going twice more this year. Plus, I prefer to not go later in December, closer to Christmas anyway. God truly works out even the tiniest of details!

Good to hear!

Date.Good evening everyone.

Bittersweet day for me. It was my grandmothers birthday and I always miss her so much on this date. Tomorrow I’ll keep the tradition alive by having an ice cream sundae as did before stroke std it. We always go banana slits or sundaes on the 5th to celebrate our birthdays since I was he in between date.

The saga of the shoes may be nearing the end. We got a call they have all the paperwork and will call to remeasure his feet. His cane broke and he wanted to Duct tape it. I don’t know why he thought that wou be a good idea. He will just have to use the spare rail I get him a new one.

Hope you all have a nice night

@TazDev :grouphug: For missing your grandmother. Birthdays and anniversaries are hard. Glad to hear the shoe saga may be nearing an end. Duct taping a cane is an interesting yet not great idea.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your dentist appts work out for you and save you some money. I like to do word searches.

I just took my walk and it was tolerable out. It is supposed to be in the 90s again so one more walk around 9:30 and then I will have to see how it is later in the day. Tomorrow we go to see Joe. We have to work on getting his car keys and following up on what to do with the car. Hospice called older DS to tell him they are invoking the Health Care proxy now as Joe is very confused. Thankfully there are not many decisions to make right now as Joe is comfortable and well taken care of. He eats muffins mainly at this point.

Off to work. It has been a frustrating week but at least it is Friday.

Have a cool day.

Happy Friday! :dumbo:

Got my peaches yesterday and divided them up. The boys were excited when I dropped them off to them, they didn't know I was getting another box.🍑

Went to my workout yesterday. I'm glad I started on the treadmill this time, I wasn't worn out by the time I switched to it so I could run in spurts. Glad I went 💪. When I got home the sky was not a pretty sight so I decided I wanted to get the front yard cut. I busted my butt to get that done, going as fast as I could. By the time I was putting the lawnmower away and filling up the birdfeeder, it was thundering. It Never Rained!!!!!😡 Took some Advil and called it a night at 9:00, slept for 9 hours.😴

The boys are coming over tomorrow to put gravel down to extend the width of the driveway. Ds2 parked Ds3's car in the grass next to the driveway and within hours the trouble maker a few houses down called the township and complained 🤬. Apparently that violates a township law so I have to put gravel in that area or pave it.

Our zoo's hippo had a baby the other day 🦛. Not sure if it's a boy or girl yet. Her first baby was born premature a few years ago and some nurses from the Children's Hospital went over to help with IV's and things. She (Fiona) was in bad shape but pulled through and is the star of the zoo now ⭐. Luckily the new baby was full term and it doesn't look to have any problems.

I'm working from home today so I'll get the house cleaned since I'm also working this weekend. That's about it, I did the laundry the other day so hopefully I'll be able to get a nap in later today.😴

Snowysmom - good luck with your Tusker House reservations. I've heard that's a really good character meal, we've never been to that one. My kids still request Chef Mickey's when we go :earsboy:. The other night when we met for dinner, the boys were talking about 50's Prime Time Cafe. We haven't been since 2018 but I think it's funny that they remember which restaurants are their favorite.

Have a great day!:goofy:

Good morning all. Another day of heat and storms. Looks like it rained most of the night, but at least the storm drains went down and aren't full, till the next round. I just ran through the garden and picked tomatoes, again. Left a bag full of cherry ones, and 4 large ones on the door handle of my 'good' neighbors, lol. I am their tomato fairy. I told SIL and niece to come and get some when they are in town. Even with less plants than last year, there are still more than we can eat. I wonder if you can freeze cherry tomatoes in some way,,maybe after roasted, or would they get mushy? I can't for the life of me remember if it was @easyas123 or @Pea-n-Me who is the one who roasts them all the time--sorry.

I was so sore and tired last nite, and surprised that I fell asleep before 1 am. I had my ear buds in for a long time listening to quiet music, but that didn't help much.

@tazdev3225 --I hope the shoe saga comes to an end soon, and he gets his shoes. It's been forever that you have been getting the run
around. I had to LOL at him wanting to duct tape his cane, that sounds like something Mr L would try to do. That's why we have 2 spares besides the one he uses.--Enjoy your sundae in honor of your grandmother. I like that tradition!

@Pea-n-Me --thanks for the link to that recipe, sounds good, and easy. I am going to attempt to make Mr L coconut shrimp for dinner tonite.

@Snowysmom --Continued prayers for Joe.

Plan on doing nothing today, we'll see how long that one lasts, lol

Have a nice Friday morning

Morning all.
@tazdev3225 Happy early birthday!
@Snowysmom We have never done Tusker House one years. CM is always fun, but we prefer CP, as Eeyore and Piglet are family favorites.
@footballmouse 50s PTC was great the first couple times we went, but then they started toning down the antics, because people were getting their panties in a bunch for being scolded for not eating their green beans. >:( We loved the atmosphere, and the food was decent, but the last time we went, we barely got any interaction at all and that killed the vibe.
@lynxstch Wondering if you floated away with all that rain!

Yesterday, I see a big crane truck backing up to the garage; I go out to investigate and it turns out they were dropping off roofing supplies! No notice to us, from the landlord or anything, but hey, I'm glad they are putting a new roof on before the weather turns. Later in the afternoon, some guy pulled up and backed a dumpster up to the garage...good thing I didn't have to get the car out (DH had it at work already)! This morning, at 7am, the roofers had pulled up next to our car, but parked in the grass, and were pulling out ladders and stuff. I've already got a bad headache (woke up with it, maybe slept funny or something) and the noise is just making it worse. :headache:Ah, well, new roof is good news...and in exactly two weeks, at this time, I'll be boarding a plane to Miami, for our Belize vacation!

Made salad and breaded chicken last night for dinner; tonight is vegetarian...lightly roasted veggies (cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, because I have a lot of fresh veg to get cooked), homemade hummus, and some pita/naan bread if I get to the store this afternoon. I have to call Walgreens and CVS to make sure they can get me the vaxx I need...I have appointments at both either today or tomorrow; and if not, I'll call Carespot to see if they can get me in. If no one has it, I guess I'll have to suck it up and call Mayo, and see if I can get in to see the infectious disease docs early next week.

I went to check on my swimsuit situation (as I haven't pulled it out since last summer), and somewhere along the move, I lost the bottoms! I'm very glad I checked now, lol. I put in an Amazon 'try before you buy' order, to see if I like some different brands/sizes, ; but I'm going to go ahead and order one of the ones that I already know I like. If I like the others better, I'll keep a couple of them, and return all the others. /shrug I'm going to Kohls and UPS to return stuff for DH and I this weekend; I can do it next weekend too, lol. I ordered some puzzle books for the plane, and I STILL need to find some collapsing walking sticks to help with my balance, that aren't outraegously expensive. As long as all my packages are in by the evening of the 17th, I'll be good to go. :rotfl2:

I've got to take some Tylenol, and maybe restart my allergy pills too, so that I have a good dose set in my system before we leave. Have a good day, y'all.

Ds2 parked Ds3's car in the grass next to the driveway and within hours the trouble maker a few houses down called the township and complained 🤬. Apparently that violates a township law so I have to put gravel in that area or pave it.

I had my son in law work on my front driveway a few years ago. I had allowed a contractor to do something I realized was foolish when I did a different reno and had a concrete driveway installed on the opposite side from the existing one. The side with the front door had a small walk from the front door and the driveway was then built leaving a planting space between the walk and the driveway. At times it was beautiful but mostly it was a mess such as in winter.

So, without the required permit I had my driveway extended to cover up the planting area. Nobody has complained, probably because it was a stupid design to begin with and only covers a small strip.

Fast forward, Son inlaw went ahead at his house and extended his driveway at the top by a few feet, but not at the curb entrance. Immediately there were city officials and county officials calling on them. DD had to get an engineer and go to several meetings where the neighbors got to complain. After submitting the required paperwork through the engineer, they was allowed to keep their extension.

There are 6 houses on the court and I believe 4 of the neighbors showed at the hearing. All of this was started by the woman across the street who kept tabs on everybody. She has since sold and moved. There were three more neighbors who attended but one doesn't really care and the other does, and actually gets annoyed when someone parks on the curb nearest her house. DD and SiL won't park there and tell their guests not to. I make a point of parking as close to her driveway as possible each time I go. It's open parking for anybody and she's an idiot. She has one van and a double carport and rarely needs more than her driveway for her guests.

Fast forward, the new neighbor on their left side who also attended the hearing hired son in law to build the exact same extension on his property (with permit). Now I saw yesterday that same neighbor appears to be extending his carport to cover the driveway that son in law extended. I don't see any permit filed for the work. (They did file a permit for the driveway.) Maybe it is pending, hopefully, as the neighbor who called the county takes no prisoners and is still in contact with the other who lives on their other side.

This story got pretty convoluted but I'm going to leave it as is.

I am their tomato fairy.
I wish I had a tomato fairy!!!!! I love a good home grown tomato.🥰

they started toning down the antics, because people were getting their panties in a bunch for being scolded for not eating their green beans.
That's what makes that restaurant so fun. My kids were cracking up at the people around them who were getting in trouble.😄

The other restaurant that's so much fun is Whispering Canyon. I didn't tell them about the ketchup experience so when one of the boys ordered fries I couldn't wait for him to ask for ketchup. It was hilarious. When it was our turn to pass on the ketchup, Ds2 took all the bottles to the other table and Ds1 asked him if he was embarrassed. Ds2 said "nah, the girl at the table was hot".😆 Teenage boys!

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well. Not much going on here, same old stuff. No grand plans this weekend, it's a mixed bag of humidity, high heat & rain so we will see what we get. I'm sure we will get into something!

We're at POR for six nights
POR (then Dixie Landings) is where we honeymooned, and it's our favorite moderate resort by far! Haven't stayed there in a while though -
they don't make fridges like they used to
Or washers & dryers. We have a old fridge in the basement storage area (it's the bait fridge/freezer...do you see what I have to live with!?!?!?!)that has got to have 15 or 20 years on the one in our kitchen but the one in our kitchen is on it's way out after 8 years.
A cold is not always a cold anymore.
ugh, I have one employee who still is testing positive and her Dr. says she might still be infections on account of the immunosuppressants she takes, plus it looks like she has bronchitis now, too. And another employee who will not get vaccinated - she's got it for the second time.
I never made it to the supermarket today. We did a pretty good job of using up most of what I bought last week, though. Trying to use up some stuff around the house. Cabinets are full.
This is what I need to do, I need to make a effort to eat thru what we have in the freezer & pantry.
Dumping down rain here for the last hour or so. I mean dumping
I had NO IDEA we were excepting the torrential downpour we got last night on the Eastern Shore! I'm very glad we got a long soak, I'd guess it started around 7:30ish? But man that wind was really blowing - I had to get up with one of the mutts at 1:30 and it was still raining a bit. I think we are looking at a similar rain storm later today. I'm glad actually - although I hope it doesn't foul up my mowing schedule - it's nice to get rain in the late summer and avoid that August brown/crispy grass look!
Because it will save us $104.
Good get! That's a good savings -
omorrow I’ll keep the tradition alive
That's a great tradition to keep alive!
Will say HAPPY BIRTHDAY @tazdev3225 a day early:
And I second that ! Happy Birthday Tazdev!
since it's flea market weekend, and I may not be on line much (or maybe at all) Saturday and Sunday.
Whew, sounds like a long weekend for you. Good luck with it all, hope you guys have a great turnout.
I wonder if you can freeze cherry tomatoes in some way,,maybe after roasted, or would they get mushy? I can't for the life of me remember if it was @easyas123 or @Pea-n-Me who is the one who roasts them all the time--sorry.
I roast them and then freeze them. I usually toss them into stuff like meatloaf or sautéed chicken or pasta after they've been frozen. I also roast them and keep them in the fridge and put them on bagels or eat them with crackers & cheese.

Not a whole lot on the agenda today. At least 4 folks out of the office today, so it's a bit quiet. I need to run down the road and pickup a UPS pkg from eldest's front porch once they get notification that it was delivered, before the rain hits later. They are on their way to Ocean City for the weekend.

BLT's for supper tonight - squash is done, cucumbers have slowed down. Peppers and tomatoes still doing their thing. Hope the rain holds off till later on so we can do a tomato pick after work since we didn't do it yesterday.

@easyas123 Dixie Landings is where we spent our honeymoon also. I loved it!
Thanks for the tip about roasting and freezing. Mr L had some on his pizza the other nite and said they were good. Now I know what I can do with some of the surplus. No wonder that variety is called 'sweet million',,lol!

I'm the opposite. None of the "antics" restaurants are my thing at all, but I would never expect them to tone down the theme (that many others thoroughly enjoy) to accommodate me! I just choose on of the gazillion other restaurants that fits what I want (which is usually a break from the stimulation of the parks instead of more interaction).
