Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Lol, thanks PollyannaMom. I am so thankful all went well with your booster. Continued prayers, my friend!
I like 1 or 2. I think 3 is too much. I can also get a completely different non-Christmas design that I will think on later. Which of these 3 choices do each of you like best? ETA, I am leaning at this moment toward #2. Yes, it is a little similar to the small bowl. I also feel it's different enough to where it is still its own gift. LOL, decisions! :)

Wishing everyone a great afternoon.

DS just texted me from work, he is not feeling well today. Told him, not surprised! Yesterday he worked all day, came home in the afternoon and changed, then ran right out to golf 9 holes with a friend in the heat and sun, then came home from that, hopped in the pool, came in and changed into his softball uniform, then ran out to his game where they only had nine players so he played the whole time, said he had sweat dripping down his face from the start, not good. Didn’t get home until late, and he hadn’t eaten much all day (he did have his big hydro flask). He was always like that ever since he was a little boy, always on the run: If he stopped he’d fall asleep, lol, so he had to keep going. Anyway, asked if he was really ok and told him to make sure he pushes fluids, then come home and get some rest after his shift. And reminded him to take it easy in this heat!

(OT but I remember being at MK one night at 2am and having a blast. He [comically] begged not to go into Country Bear Jamboree but the rest of us wanted to go. No sooner did the show start I looked over and he was passed out! :lmao: Afterward he rode Splash Mountain in a log by himself over and over. I think we got back to the Dolphin at 4:30 am I remember getting off the bus and walking past Pikabu’s [food court] still dripping wet and staff saying good morning to us, smelling the coffee brewing and breakfast cooking! Such fun memories!)

Sorry to hear of illnesses and ongoing difficulties here. Frog, I was in a store last week and I saw this. I had been thinking about it anyway as I’ve been dealing with some stuff myself recently. I snapped a picture of it, and am going to post it here, because I really do believe it’s true. (Debating on going back to buy it.) I hope it helps you, and anyone else who happens to be reading here and needs reassurance. My father also had a saying that I also believe is true: “You can’t do wrong and come out right“. Just stay true to yourself and your kids and things will be ok. Don’t worry about what others think, say, or do. ❤️ (They have to answer for their own behavior.) And please continue to hold your head up high and act like you own the place, wherever you are! Success is the best revenge!

I also stopped in this beautiful chapel to pray. I love chapels, and find them very peaceful, a place where I can clear my head, but not overwhelming like some churches can be. I took a picture to show you all. It is the final resting place of a local Cardinal we had when I was growing up. Beautiful and serene.

Lastly, I picked up a pair of these for myself to let a bit of my devious side out! 😄

Have a good evening, everyone! 🐥

@flyingdumbo127 Mona, I like #1.

93 and hot- hot- hot out. Even the slight breeze blowing feels hot
Aldi's was empty when I went in, by the time I checked out (and I wasn't in there that long) 2 registers had lines. Both cashiers were waiting for a manager's key for something,,so the lines were just sitting there. They had racks of ribs 50% off. I got 2 big racks for the freezer, for less than $5 each.

Walmart wasn't that busy. No idea why, but they hardly had any ice cream. 4 of the 6 cases were empty. They had a few cartons of their own brand, but not many different flavors. I saw 2 containers of Turkey Hill, and no Friendly's, no Breyers, no Blue Bunny. I know it's hot but they should have had ice cream. We wondered if the cases weren't working right, but I opened the door to one of them and it was very cold.
Checked out at a U Scan with noone else in line on either side of me.

Put stuff away, decided on dinner for tonite, tomorrow and Friday, and am going to lay down. I never fell sound asleep till almost 4 am and got woken by hungry cats at 7.

Have a good afternoon all

:laughing:Happy Wednesday all.

I started to do quotes and then got sidetracked and lost track of where I left off so let's see what I remember. LoL

I do not think the person's soul is present in their earthly body/vessel. The spirit/soul/self has gone on to a better place. That is part of why I don't view bodies, I don't feel they are there anymore.
I hope the injection helps give you some relief. I also agree with you on the above.

Soooo....Apparently I didn't get very far at all...:rolleyes1:sad2: I could've swore I had more....

Ugh....I swear I have the worse memory too so I'll try and remember more recent stuff...

@Snowysmom I truly belive the bug, the butterfly and the cardinals are all signs from Chris. :grouphug:

@frog3101 I glad last week is behind you and I hope this next step is soon behind you too. :grouphug:

@PollyannaMom love your hummingbird pictures. I hope your booster doesn't make you feel too bad. DH and I both tried to book appts for our 2nd boosters through our insurance and were "not recommended for us at this time...wear, masks, practice social distancing, etc...." I'm not sure why so I'm sending a message to my DR today to find out why. Might just need to go through someone else to get it instead of our insurance.

@bobbiwoz I'm sorry to hear you two came home with Covid. I really hopes it a mild case and you feel better quickly. Soo many people are getting it right now, my sister and niece as well as my best friend are all + and recovering.

@Kirby glad you were able to join DD to see the kids and Lulu got to come home with you. It makes me soo angry when a parent doesn't have their child's best interest at heart and it makes me angrier that they seem to be able to get away with the stuff your DDs ex is doing. Grrr...

@flyingdumbo127 I'm sure your dad will love whatever you decide to get him.

@Bianca and Bernard I second TN...never been been(yet!) but looks beautiful. Our of our nephews, that came to visit a couple weeks ago, will be getting married April of next year about 45 minutes outside of Nashville and I'm excited to go. Wherever you choose I'm sure you'll have a great time.

@Judique Your DGDs are lucky girls. ::yes::

@easyas123 you do all the exciting stuff(your training) DH absolutely LOVES as apart of his job, actually he's the one thats been having to do the trainings lately and I think he loves that even more than sitting through them....:rolleyes1:laughing:

@Pea-n-Me Hope your DS listens to his momma and gets some rest today. Love the new socks.

@lynxstch We've had such random things missing at our local store recently. If I go to same chain but smaller store just a couple miles down the road they are stocked with everything but the bigger, newer one closer to us always has empty shelves....so weird.

@footballmouse forgot what I was going to respond to you so I'll just give a

Hope I got everyone. Monday was my dad's birthday but we had plans to take our friends kids to the drive in to see Thor(so good and so funny) so we did dinner for my dad last night. He wanted ribs so he actually made them himself, I brought the sides plus a cake and ice cream. It was all soo good. He did a great job with the ribs in the crockpot, the were literally falling off the bone when you picked them up.

This weekend, DH and I are going to a company wide family event. I'm excited...we've had to miss all previous events because we've been out of town with him working. I think it might be bowling but he said once he accepted the invite(online) and responded we would be going all the info disappeared. LOL He just has a location and time. It's down near San Diego, where my sister and niece live, so we may pick up my niece and take her with us.

Hope you so have a great rest of your day.

:hug:Pea and thank you for sharing with us those beautiful pictures and words. Praise God! He is absolutely always with and for us. Pre pandemic, I often did enjoy quiet prayer time in the smaller Chapel at church. It was a very peaceful space.

Thank you, Carol. I am drawn to #1 as well because it is simpler and I do like the green stripe. Plus, as you said it can be used more all year. I also honestly do not like taking a risk, IMO, with some products that are washable anyway that say Merry Christmas on them. Simply because to me, it is not respectful should part of Christmas especially flake off or fade away. I hope that makes sense. That said, I think bowl #1 is the winner. I will see how much it would cost and make a choice from there. Plus, it semi goes with a blanket I got dad a couple years for his birthday that in the wintertime he really gets good use of. Birthday Blanket Dad's is a full-size twin version of this blanket. It is super soft! One last ETA: Handy that it is only the end of July. I'm going to wait a month or two to see whether the site offers free shipping on any order again. $8.95 otherwise is half the cost of the bowl just about. Money can better be used! I'll keep all of you posted. Thank you again for your suggestions and votes :)

Take care, Lynn and keep cool. Maybe Walmart was having an 🍨sale due to the heat. I do remember years ago both Ralph's and Pavilions (at different times) had freezer trouble.

AuntieMe3, stay safe and have a fun weekend ahead.

@bobbiwoz I hope you feel better soon. I like the cruise pictures.

@Pea-n-Me I hope you can get some rest and your DS too. I love the picture of the little chapel. It looks like just the right place to sit and meditate on things.

@flyingdumbo127 I do like the evergreen plate. Very festive.

To all who are dealing with exes and soon to be exes :grouphug: I hope everything works out the way that is best for you and your children. So sorry you have to deal with such mean people.

I had to play catch up reading here so to all, thinking of you and love to read your posts.

I am getting tired of this place and being in it so much. Today I went out and found my way around a bit. A neighbor told me of a road that goes to the next town so I investigated that. I went to CVS but could not decide what bandaids to buy. I am finding that right now my decision not to make decisions is the best way to go even for bandaids. Tomorrow after work I am having lunch with a friend. Friday I am off work. My younger DS and I are going to Joe's apartment to hunt down legal paperwork. Then Saturday older DS and I are going to visit Joe in the hospice. I talked with Joe yesterday and he sounds relieved to be living in a place where he is getting good care and he is not alone. He is actually eating a bit more so I was glad to hear that. I do not like to have to discuss final arrangements with him but we need to do it while he is not too confused. Older DS is very tactful so I may ask him to do it. I know I am glad Chris and I discussed it a couple of years ago as it made at least that part of things easier.

I went to a local farm stand today and got some fruit, fresh corn, wheat crackers, cole slaw, and as a treat, some jelly beans. I wanted a sweet that was not chocolate. I found the prices reasonable considering the inflation. I spent $16 so not too bad.

It is so hot and humid today. I have walked outside 3 times so far but it was tough. I will walk again in the early evening when hopefully it will be cooler. I like to do a few shorter walks rather than one long, boring walk.

Have a nice evening.

:grouphug:Snowysmom. I am truly so glad to hear you treated yourself to some extras at the farm stand. Thanks, on the bowl.

I'm attaching a picture of dad's small bowl sitting on top of a box of Kleenex just to give all of you a better on size should any of you ever want to order this.

Dad is at the library right now picking up a hold book 📕and getting ⛽for my car. YIKES to gas prices. $5.79 a gallon which is "cheap" at the moment from the over $6 it was a few weeks ago, I believe. This was the least inexpensive option, too. Prices in general truly keep going up and up and up :( Prayers each of you are still able to get what you most need and even a few extras :)

Hello to all Quackers. I am having a hard time getting my thoughts to stop spinning.

@Kirby I hope your daughter's meeting with her new attorney goes well and they get a good "game plan" made and can move forward quickly...or as quickly as the legal system allows. I have learned for sure that everything moves at a snails pace during the process.

@Pea-n-Me Thank you so much for the kind words and the copy of the poem. It used to be one of my faves. I have not read it in a long time though. I will admit, my faith has been tested over and over during all of this and the Lord and I have had some pretty harsh conversations.

@Snowysmom continued hugs to you. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. Adjusting to a new reality is so very very hard.

It has been another rough day. I got to see the affidavits he submitted along with those who wrote ones in support of him. I am assuming he has seen mine. He lied in his and I could barley make it thorough. Thankfully I had a friend read through them also and helped me to come up with my rebuttal. I have had 3 friends total read both his and mine and they say his does not make a very good case. I meet with my attorney tomorrow and I hope she says the same. I have been waiting for a ruling for so long, but now that it's so close I wish it wasn't happening, if that makes sense. I was sadden by one of the people who chose to write in his support. It's not someone I know well, but someone who I like(ed). I just want to tell this person they have no idea what it has been like behind closed doors in our house any that no way would the kids be better off with him for even half time. But, I of course will not say anything. My oldest son has been there since this AM and it seems my husband thinks he is keeping him until at least Friday. He was not happy about it.

Anyway, I don't know much else. I hate that this has taken over my life. Oh, I'm not sure if I already posted, but I didn't get the job I was really hoping for that I interviewed for a few weeks ago. Just one more thing to add to the list of things that are not going so well.

Take care all.

Happy Thursday! :sunny: 🥵

Really, really hot this week. I texted 2 of my boys yesterday to make sure they were taking plenty of water for work and wearing a hat, they both work outside.

Went to Ds1's soccer game last night, they lost in the last 30 seconds of the game 😠⚽. Made a few stops before going to the game. First one was to Aldi's to get some fruit and I found out that they carry the Thinster cookies in a bunch of flavors. I had to open the key lime bag first and they were so good. Next stop was at Meijer so that I could get some oranges and cat food. I can't find regular big oranges anywhere 🍊.

Cancelled my workout for tonight and I'm going to cut the grass instead. I figure in 90 degree heat, I'll be sweating just as much as I would working out. It never rained yesterday like they were predicting so I'll have to water the grass later tonight. I'll probably do the back tonight and tomorrow morning I'll do the front. 💦

My new bird feeder came Tuesday so I go that filled and hung in the tree. I checked on it yesterday and it was already 1/2 gone. I'm sure the birds were happy that they have a feeder back.🐦

Pea-n-me - that looks like a beautiful chapel.

Have a great day everyone! 🌷

Great photo @PollyannaMom

@frog3101 Sorry you are having a rough time with this.

@Snowysmom That's a good deal for all that produce. I love going to farmer's markets; there's one that is about 20 minutes from us, but it's more crafts and company booths (and honestly, we won't go there because several of the booths are hardcore political in nature). There are two more, that are much better, but they are about 30-45 minutes from us. Maybe we'll go next weekend. They both have permanent booths that people rent; one is every day but the majority of the items come in on the weekends, and the other is Saturdays only, but it also has food trucks and the products there seem to be higher quality.

@flyingdumbo127 I like the bowl

@Pea-n-Me Cute socks!

Thanks, everyone, for the ideas on where to go. I think DH and I are going to do some research into TN!

Yesterday, I got the front yard mowed; DS got up and weedwacked it for me. I'm glad he did, because about 5 minutes after we finished, the heavens opened and we had pouring rain all day! Pretty heavy thunder too. If he hadn't helped, I would have been just starting weedwacking when the rain started, and it never would have gotten done! We cannot do the backyard today, as there is standing water, from so much 🌧️ yesterday! @footballmouse You can have our rain for the next few days! Those cookies sound like something DH might like; he really likes thin crispy cookies, unless it's my chocolate chip, or oatmeal cinnamon chip, or sugar cookies. LOL

The house is clean; I do have a couple small loads of laundry I can do, I suppose... Watching the hearings tonight, I think; DH is working late again. He is having to fix a couple of projects that another drafter/designer and engineer did. A few months ago, they asked DH to take a look at what they were planning, before they started; and he told them then that it was being done wrong. The client wanted more houses laid out in that subdivision; DH told them that the grading was set for a smaller number of houses, and to tell the client they were at the max for that sized subdivision. They argued that the client wanted it that way, and he told them they had to tell the client no, because it would not work. Well, they went ahead with what the client wanted, and guess what? Now that the work is starting....it doesn't work! So, now DH has to work on this project, in addition to the other 10 he has already, to adjust the plans back to the original, correct setup. Dinner tonight is hot dogs, fries, and salad.

I posted on FB Marketplace that I have 3 small boxes of school supplies for someone to come get for free; and I must have had 100 replies in less than 3 hours. I ignored the first one, as it was clearly a bot; and asked the 2nd if they can come by today or tomorrow to get them. I did check their profile, and it's an older one, with pictures and posts of kids in various stages over the last 7 years, so I am sure they are a real person; I did say in the post that I didn't want this stuff to go to a reseller, but to a family that needed a boost of stuff for the school year. Not that any of the stuff is worth big bucks; it's a lot of composition books and looseleaf paper; pencils and crayons and colored pencils, some craft supplies like mini pompom balls and googly eyes, etc....all brand new (or almost brand new; there are two pencil cases filled with barely used colored and regular pencils for example; and a bunch of kid sized safety scissors). For years, I would hit the before school and clearance sales for school supplies and crafts for the kids and DH's scouts; but we don't need all that stuff anymore, with the kids grown up. It would cost more than it's all worth to ship to either of my girls, so it just makes sense to help someone out here. We did send the girls each $20 to help defray some of the school supply costs they have this year. I still kept about a third of what we had in the storage bins, because we can always use some paper or pencils.

Today is DGS#3's 6th birthday! He had his birthday party at a bouncy trampoline place last weekend with his friends; today is just him and his family. He'll get our gifts today along with the bike that DD#1 crowdsourced to buy. [The girls have decided that their kids don't need a bunch of toys this year, and have asked family/friends to instead chip in on a big gift for them. DGS#2 got a trampoline w/safety netting and a small blowup pool for his bday in March; DGS#3 is getting a new BMX bike and a new helmet/knee/elbow pads. We chipped in $20 for each, and then sent more gifts, because it's Mimi and Pop's jobs to spoil the grandbabies. :rotfl:

Have a good day y'all!

:hug:Frog, we're here and care.

Kirby, much continued prayer to you and your daughter, especially the kiddos too!

What pretty purple flowers. PollyannaMom!

Keep cool, Footballmouse. I'm sorry your son's team lost. I hope you enjoy your cookies!

Thank you, B&B, for doing tor kids and families!

Lynn, hope you're not having trouble logging on yet again :( More, than that, of course, prayers you are okay.

Snowysmom, Pea, Carol, Judique, Bobbiwoz, AuntieMe3, Easyas, Dazed, and all other Quackers thinking of you as well and sending

Good morning all. Thanks @flyingdumbo127 --no issues logging in, I haven't had any issues all week, (at least not with the DIS)knock on wood!
I just spent part of my morning dealing with other issues.
One was with a company I have ordered from before, all of a sudden taking more than 3 weeks to ship the items, and telling me different stories everytime. They already refunded my shipping cost, now they 'claim' that my original order is sitting in shipping waiting for the courier (DHL,,I can't stand them), and that they will also refund the rest of my money, and reprocess the order to be sent to me at no charge. We'll see!

Then the cable guy came to try and solve the TIVO issues. He solved 2 of the issues, 1 was that my remote (we each have 1), was sticking on a few buttons, so he replaced that one. Also replaced the one in the bedroom although I don't use it often. It's always great though, when the tech is bewildered at a problem, he calls his tech help line, and that tech gets confused as well? LOL! They have no clue why the box recorded 2 seasons of a show without my setting it (no One Pass set either) and no clue why 4 of the shows I recorded last Friday, got deleted for 'space needed', since the TIVO only had 27%. It was at 77 earlier and I had deleted a lot of old shows we were never going to get around to watching. They had him check all the things he had already checked, and the next step would have been to delete the box totally and put it back to default. I still have recordings on there I don't want to lose, so I veto'ed that one. He finally went into One Pass settings and reset all of those to 'wait till I delete', and changed a couple of the other settings. For now it seems to be fine, except that it goes to 'video unavailable' when watching shows, then resumes. They had that issue a year or so ago, and it was caused by a crack in their line at the main transformer station. They moved the lines underground, and it's been fine till now . They think it's the extremely hot weather causing another break into the line. He's going to report it to repair and have someone go to the top of the mountain and investigate. Tech was really nice, was here almost an hour. We chatted about stuff while he was working..and I find this odd..I had to wait 4 days for a tech, yet he said he only had 1 other call today, that was less than 10 min from here, and then he's done for the day? LOL!

Its already 88 degrees out..there is a breeze, but it's not helping much. Going to be upper 90's until at least Sunday (99 that day), with on rain in sight until next week

Going out now to pick cherry tomatoes and some cukes and squash. Still waiting for the normal size ones to start ripening, as we have some BIG ones out there.

@frog3101 Hugs for yesterday, hope tomorrow goes better. Send you another pm when you have a chance
@PollyannaMom great hummingbird picture
@Bianca and Bernard I have rubbed off on you if most of your cleaning is done and you are still looking for things to do, lol! Happy 6'th birthday to your DGS

Have a great day all, stay cool, or stay dry, depending on your weather!

R (3).jpg

:grouphug:Lynn and much prayer for extra FUN 📺watching! I'm sorry about the hassles with your 📦DHL, the company, simply for the name will be special to me because those were my grandma's initials. I remember when she passed away, calling DHL because I had seen somewhere a toy DHL yellow truck. Grandma always smiled when she saw one of those. I thought dad would enjoy it, too. A very kind lady sent me her personal truck from her desk along with a sweet condolence card. Years later, that truck now lives with my cousins in Houston and dad, and I have a DHL airplane. Good memory.

Happy I'm going to the shore this weekend as it will be 10 degrees cooler there.

Been busy all day as DD dropped the girls for a bit while she went to her rental for a bit.

Last night I tried to make penuche fudge. What I ended with was sort of a salted caramel pecan fudge.

Anyway, it's good and DD took some with her and I'm trying to stay away from it. I wanted to use up some brown sugar and salted pecans.

Disboards has now been allowing me on, but they sort of broke my habit and I'm doing other things with my time, such as trying to clean my house and unload my treasures (debatable!). I texted my son a pic of a Waterford Crystal carafe that I have no use for. It's very nice but I don't put out crystal anymore and drink out of my Tervis tumblers daily and have a cupboard full of Lenox that is somewhat more practical. He's going to ask his DW if they want it. I have other Waterford but it is not the same pattern. The carafe was a gift from a few employees when I retired, along with a lot of other stuff that I really appreciate but have no place for, so some has been donated and the other stuff regifted to family (who know it's a regift and happily accepted.) Some stuff just went to the thrift store.

I'm considering letting my Fiesta dishes go also. Too many! I stopped using them and switched to an unused, smaller set of dishes last year.

The clearing/cleaning continues.

Good Afternoon.

@frog3101 I hope your meeting with your attorney helps with your rebuttal to the affidavits. I think Judges pretty much understand that things aren't always the way they are portrayed. It is easy for me to say but one step at a time and ask for help from those you care for and care for you. We care and are thinking of you.

@dazedx3 thinking of you.

I was in the office today. My manager is encouraging me to go to the office 2 days a week once we move closer to my condo. We talked about anxiety and living alone and she understands how I feel as she struggles with anxiety too. I think seeing people 2 days a week will be helpful. I can give it a try anyway. That will be next month. Then I had a nice lunch with a really good friend I used to work with. She is also a widow having lost her significant other 6 years ago this month. We came back to the complex, sat in the gazebo, and talked for a while. She was very helpful with listening to me and I listened to her. We are talking about an Adventures by Disney trip to Alaska and Denali maybe late next summer. If I can get my other good friend to commit to a Disney cruise in May I will have things to look forward to. I am grateful for my 2 good friends who are there for me. Lunch was very good, I had a grilled chicken taco salad.

It is so hot and humid today. I did walk a little bit and may try again later for a quick walk but maybe not. I am feeling tired today and a bit down so maybe I will just give myself a break. I should do some cleaning but I am off tomorrow so after we go to Joe's apt I will have the afternoon to clean. Something to look forward too, not!

Have a nice evening and try to stay cool.
