Good evening everyone.
I am home from Alaska. There were too many pages to go through although I did scan everything. The only thing I remember is Tonsil Stones. My granddaughter gets them, and they are a nuisance for her. She gets some rather big one and has actually used her toothbrush to try and scrape them out. She hasn't complained about the too much lately so maybe they have gone away.
Alaska was fabulous. The cruise was so much fun except for the couple of days I was really seasick. I expected some issues based on our cruise 8 years ago and had 2 bottles of Dramamine with me. The first day I took the maximum dosage and a lot of Ginger Ale. We had a Specialty Dinner and I insisted we go but as soon as the food came out, I turned green. Sadly, it was the one I was most looking forward to attending.
The views were awesome, and my husband spoiled me. The first full day as we wandered the ship, we found the jewelry store. I browsed but had no intentions of buying anything. My husband had other ideas. He bought me a Blue Diamond pendant. I plan on having it appraised since I think he paid more than it is worth. I was looking in the watch store and saw a Mickey Mouse Citizens watch. I didn't buy it but kept going back and looking. I went so far as to look it up online and the price was about $I5 more but with no tax and shipping it was comparable. I have several watches and couldn't decide about it. My husband bought that for my birthday. When he bought the pendant, we were actually just waiting for a drawing they were having. Guess who WON a diamond necklace, also supposedly valued at over $2,000. That's right - ME! I walked out with 2 diamond pendants. I said that at least I have one for each of my granddaughters when I die. I will post some pictures and a mini trip report if you would care to hear about the trip.
Tried to get back into a routine today, but that didn't work. I fell asleep. We were at the airport for almost 10 hours and then a late-night flight where I couldn't get comfortable. You would think that first class would have offered a pillow or blanket since it was a red eye. They also came around with one offer of a drink and a basket of cookies. The flight attendants looked and acted like we, the passengers, were an annoyance to them. This was NOT first-class treatment. I was able to track my luggage and was fairly certain they didn't load one piece. Sure enough as soon as the plane landed, I had a text message that one piece was still in Seattle. Of course, I had no way of knowing which one of the 3 was missing. I headed to lost luggage services to be told that it's all online. Went back to get Jim and head out to find my daughter and what was riding the baggage carousel? That's right - the LOST piece of luggage. I plan on contacting the airline tomorrow, but I need to be careful how I deal with things as they are the best airline for nonstop to Orlando and I have a credit from a trip I took back in December when they changed my flights. I really don't like to complain but at the same time how can they work to improve if they don't know what the issues are.
I did come home to a mostly finished new bathroom. My grandson just needs to do some trim work and we need to paint the walls now. All the new fixtures make them seem so out of place. I decided to continue with the grays from downstairs and use the darker shade.
Hope you all have a nice evening. I have to sort over 2,000 pictures.
