And it's raining out here. Not heavy but, definitely wet.
So, being sort of lazy although I'm working inside. I haven't changed into day clothing yet. I have a few things in the laundry I have to go switch to the dryer and I've placed the trash to the curb. They've been coming late so I am relaxed about getting it out there. DD is at her office and not working from home today so by the time she gets here, I'll look efficient, lol.
Made vet appointments for 2 cats and the dog. There goes the $$$$! More to come.
Checked pet food and except for dog kibble, which I buy smaller bags more often so it doesn't go stale, I'm good for into mid June. Dog eats wet and dry, so I keep both on hand as do the cats.
Caught up on my bill paying. I like to use credit cards and I'm allergic to paying interest so I monitor this weekly. I try to take advantage of the offers and yesterday I had a fail. I paid for Panera Bread for lunch. I have 2 cards that would have given $2 back, and I mixed it up and used the wrong card. $2 isn't much but it all adds up. On the other hand I paid insurance on my car and saved $15 with an offer from Amex, so overall I came out on the plus side.
Ikea sent me an email today that they have another egift offer, again today only. Buy $100 get $20 extra. I find them useful for a lot of little things. On the other side, I don't need anything. We've bought a ton of stuff from Ikea for many years, furnishing my kids houses and this house as needed. For the most part I have Ethan Allen furniture now, (it's not new, but in perfect condition and most important, 'I' like it, but I had lots of Ikea for the kids rooms growing up. and I still have some pieces in my basement that have done very well. Bookcases and end tables like Mona. And, I sold off the kids stuff and people wanted it, especially the Hemnes dressers- got about half the price back. Also the duvet sets were nice as you could change up the room and make it look different and fresh quickly for teens especially.
I also buy their shades and then use nice curtains over most. That way if the shade fails or gets too dirty it's $30-$40 not $3 to $400. I can't remember the name but they have the cellular feature. I recently researched replacing some with my friend for one of their rooms and I will keep buying the Ikea ones, thankyouverymuch, although I didn't tell them that. I found the quality difference minimal and the price maxed out. And who crawls around behind your curtains looking for branding anyway? Plus the fancy ones sometimes need an installer.
