Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good Morning everyone from cooler today CA,

Wishing you extra peace this day, B&B!

I love your Charlie story, Judique, thanks for sharing. That’s really neat that he has possibly raised many a family over the years in your yard. He must feel a sense of home :)

Hug Lynn, what you should find to do, dear friend, is take it easy! Treat yourself to some R&R. Did you ever try baking the sugar/chocolate chip cookies? Today might be a good day to do that in order to warm and sweeten up your house! Love the daily picture and thank you, as always, for posting one for us! :)

Happy Birthday to your sister, Footballmouse! Aw, that is so sweet that babies born today in your hospital are dressed in a special onsie—how fun indeed!

God Bless your brother, Nox! I am truly so glad your visit went so well. I pray you indeed stay in close touch with him. Cherish family and friends extra right now for sure! I absolutely try to.

I just got off the phone with Justin from 3M. He's very kindly sending me 3 replacement rolls of tape. He apologized for my trouble and just asked that in the future I save the green box so I'd be able to provide info off of the package if need be. Very good customer service.

Extra prayer and a Tuesday hug to all!

@Kirby I'm so glad you made it on time and again I'm truly sorry for your loss. :(

Happy "Twos-day" all... :bitelip:

At the hospital we have special onsies to put on the babies that are born today. What a fun day to be born on.

So sweet. :lovestruc Patiently waiting to hear any baby news here for our "pretend" grandbaby. LOL She was induced last night but so far nothings happening. Neither can leave the room once admitted and she was hoping to be able to walk around some so hopefully things start moving for them. Come on, Baby vibes are appreciated.

We had a fun Saturday night with our good friends testing out the patio heater but it ended up getting really cold so DH made a fire in the fire pit after we ate our tacos. Sunday and Monday were lazy days with us just doing minor things around the house. DH left out of town again, I'll probably drive up go join him after my dental deep cleaning on Friday. I wanted to cancel and reschedule but it's already been done twice...once by the office and once by me a few weeks back when I was sick, so I decided I need to be a big girl and get it done. LoL

We're expecting a big storm here tonight and into tomorrow...not sure if we'll get the rain and snow they are predicting though as it's SUPER windy and usually the wind blows the weather right over us. All the other times we've had a good snow, there has never been any wind so we'll see. I feel like I should head out to the store to get a few things so if it does rain or snow, I don't have to go anywhere but it really cold and windy out and we probably have plenty here so we don't really need anything.

QOTD: I really like hummingbirds because they are so cute but I LOVE my ravens. We have a family that nest in our big beautiful backyard tree. They are fun to watch and are soo smart. We've seen them chase off hawks and even chase after a coyote that was walking down the street one day. They used to be playful with Bingo when he was out in the yard. He would bark and chase one and the other would swooped down behind him so he'd turn and chase that one. Then first one would do the same, over and over. We really need to get our tree trimmed but DHs worried about losing the birds and their nest...lol

Healthy baby prayers, AuntieMe3! Please let us know. Lol, love how you said "Twos-day" that's great indeed :D

Hug, Bobbiwoz. I have a friend with the same birthday as my grandma. I remember also shortly after she went onto Heaven, one of the children at the preschool I worked at shared her birthday as well. That brought me extra comfort that year to know. Prayers your neighbor sharing your MIL's birthday does likewise for you, my friend.

It's a bit windy here and chilly yet sunny-ish.

I hope all of you are having a good afternoon :)

I’m still here. Been MIA for a few days celebrating. Lol. Got back on here and had 5 pages to catch up on. I am sure I forgot or missed a lot.

Here’s what I’ve been up to. Friday the pool table arrived. Then I didn’t t feel like cooking dinner so we got carry out. Then DD and DDIL came up. There was some pool playing and lots of conversation.

Saturday we all 4 went out to breakfast, hung around the house a bit, and then we to DD’s house for a joint birthday celebration for Tessa and me. We got carry out Mexican so DD didn’t have to cook after Tessa’s kids party that afternoon. Then we had cake she baked.

Sunday was church with a stop at Home Depot on the way home. After lunch, I went to Kohl’s to look at bathing suits. That did not go well. I also boiled chicken breasts, made barbecue sauce, and made chicken bbq for sandwiched for next weekend and froze. Then fixed shrimp and baked potatoe for dinner.

Monday we went to DD’s house to give Tessa her birthday gifts on her real birthday. She had enough Saturday. Only stayed a short while then DH and I took a road trip down to Cambridge to go to the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge where we had never been. Saw lots of geese, duck, and swans. It was a beautiful day for a drive. Had lunch at CFA then to Deer Park Tavern for dinner.

Today I had a shift at church at the welcome center. Then I tried a new cookie recipe for the shower Saturday. It was not a success. DH said he’d eat them but they are not going to the shower.

Now to the things I quoted.

Re: tuna casserole. Mine is just boiled egg noodles, a can of tuna, and a can of either cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup. It‘s the lazy version.

put wood putty on the window sill that Jasper gouged up with his nails while barking at the dogs outside
Our window sills look like that too.

.I am tired of the Olympics already,
I was glad to see them end also.

No robins yet though
I saw some toward the end of January. I usually see about my brother’s birthday January 23.

QOTD: What is your favorite bird? 🕊(Besides the Quacker Duckie?)
Recently I've had red winged blackbirds, european starlings, tufted titmouse, black capped chickadee, goldfinch (just not gold right now), house finch, sparrows, a few different woodpeckers, juncos, wrens, nuthatches, many mourning doves, grackles and an occasional hawk or two
We see about the same variety here.

But the coolest ones we've seen this year were bluebirds!
We have them. We have a blue bird box they look at but no babies here yet.

I like our hawk “Eddie”, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and bald eagles which are not uncommon not far from here. And pelicans at the beach.

DH and I were able to get to his sister's house before she passed away. She opened her eyes when he walked in and acknowledged his presence but was unable to speak. She spent most of the time asleep, passing away early Friday morning.
Im glad you got there in time but sorry for your loss.

Welp, my sister (the one who lost her husband last month) and her youngest got Covid,
Ahh, family drama. Good luck.

I don't like to have the same thing 2 nights in a row,
Me either.

I have a meeting that I do not want to attend on Zoom but can't get an excuse to get out of it.
We had a church Zoom this afternoon also.

Guess that’s about enough for tonight.

documenting 2/22/22...went to goodwill where I could manipulate the price of the recipt...just add cents to purchase by donationg to equal $2.22 by donating the cents ..so welcome and good night to 2/2/22....anyhow...turned out to be a good night...ebay says total purchse of 5.45 on senior day will equal to 33.33 at high price of retail sales. anyhow put the $2.22 recipt in 2 samuel, chapter 22 verse 22....my FOMO of the week is now over....I have no idea what I did in 1/11/11...though I am sure that recipt is somewhere in my journals.

last coldest day of the winter visitor year tomorrow...44 degrees with high of 60 and some splatters of raindrops...this time next week....the weeping of 90 degrees.....beware the ides of March....going to be brutal....cease/seize the moment tomorrow as sister and I plan to walk among the rain inspired fragrance of the oldest plant on earth and recall our Joshua Tree childhood.

now back to work...just way to many purchases from garage sales to ready for farmers market and ebay research. to wish you all many good mornings even this day was .first time at goodwill in weeks. and 9:00 pm hour is great for deli dicounts...roast beef half price...the full price was the total of my whole food purchases.....so food....in my reality...FREE!!!!!

Good morning. Warm day expected here in the 60s. A bit too warm for this time of year but tomorrow it will be back to reality and then a snow storm on Friday. Crazy weather.

I meet with the stager this afternoon. The agent says it should only be 15-20 minutes. I signed the contract for the agent yesterday and my anxiety is high now. I know I have to sell as I can't live there but it is bittersweet. If I can find a place I will feel better. The contract is contingent on finding a place to live. The agent understands and supports that which is good. I hope places start to come on the market now that it is the end of Feb and selling season is almost here.

Have a nice day.

Congratulations! Moving on and moving up to new adventures. There is a place for you.

I am curious about one thing. I would be interested in knowing how much the first potential buyer/speculator undercut the listing price by? Not asking how much your house is for sale for. I get these speculator calls all the time as I live in an old neighborhood with essentially starter homes mixed with mid priced family homes (for this area). Here they are going over 100K lower in their offers. They will try to buy anything.

Then they come in and trash everything, put in new flooring, paint the walls, do a kitchen upgrade and bath upgrades with something that basically looks new and trendy and sell pretty high. But these are the cheapest stainless appliances, what you would see in spec houses - builder grade. So in a few years the buyer needs new again. I hate it, and have seen quite a few done like this.

My son and his wife are looking for a house and want to buy in the next year and a half. Their neighborhood has gone into the 600K's and it's going to be tough for them to find anything. Stuff is gone sometimes before they can get a viewing appointment. And, my older DD bought a townhouse in August 2020 that's jumped a 100K in price. And it's nothing special. Real estate is ridiculous right now.

I almost think the one thing an owner should do is get their home appraised before listing these days. It will cost but could save a lot in the long run to truly know the 'at the moment' value of what you own.

So, @bobbiwoz - you will probably get/understand this fomo. I got the email to book reservations for Moonlight Madness at Epcot on March 17. Was sort of surprised because I wasn't expecting it. I have a reservation at Hilton Head and that's my last night as I canceled friday night.

Reservations start at 11am. Sort of thinking of registering for us. Myself and my youngest grand are going right now to HH. It's fomo, I know, and getting caught up in the moment, but I'm pretty certain DGD would love to do Remy and Frozen. I would be driving the 300 miles that morning and would have to book an additional night or two somewhere for the night and maybe the next day.

What makes it enticing is the idea of no tickets, no park reservations and much shorter lines, and I haven't been since February 2020.

Should I do this?? I have loads of hotel points to get free rooms and it would cost me gas and a little food. Hotel points can get me a room at the Dolphin so we could walk into and out of Epcot.

I'm going to register. Will I actually go? Not sure yet.

Good morning all. I have to agree with @Snowysmom and the weather. How on earth can it be 62 degrees here at 6 am on Wed 2/23, and have a winter storm watch for tomorrow and Friday for 3/10" of freezing rain? That is nuts, and I hope they are wrong. But my good knee is aching, which usually means bad weather :(

Today is errand and grocery day. Place over the PA state line has a great sale this week, so that will be our first stop. Then Aldi's and Walmart, and possibly Martins (Giant) if Walmart doesn't have the bread I want.

Trash is out, cats are fed, and I am off to take a quick shower.

Have a great day everyone~~

^ Well, you don’t have to stay to the very end of MM. Usually, they let you into the designated park at 6 PM. Only problem there is, the park will still have regular visitors. If you think there’s a chance, try to get the tickets!

My sister in law and myself had the best time at MM at AK in February 2020. We stayed til closing and it was awesome, especially for her as my brother doesn't go to the parks anymore, so she doesn't go. She rode FOP 3 times in a row, with a lady we met from Massachusetts. I don't do anything swirly anymore, but I've done FOP and had to close my eyes to try to stop the dizziness. And the food was good that night.

I've done it at MK also but the food options were mediocre, although free.

I'm going to get the tickets. I can always cancel if I don't end up going.

Good morning. I am soaking my orchids, and both have buds that should bloom in about a month. I have three amaryllis bulbs that should bloom within the next two weeks, and a Christmas cactus that’s blooming now. It’s a treat to see flowers in these gloomy winter days, here in Cape May.

I almost forgot about these. I have tried for years to get poinsettia to bloom again. This year has been my most successful try. This was a gift to me Christmas 2020. I cut it back and nurtured it. It has flowers!

The weather people seem to be doing a mostly good job. Used to be hit or miss. Now it's just a matter of how many inches we actually get. Although I do think they over report or react to any kind of weather change. Absolutely necessary sometimes, but when it's minor they still make it a big deal.

I went ahead and booked the Dolphin on points. Would have preferred the Swan but will take what is available.

I also have tickets I can use if I decide to do another parks day somewhere. I have an old single day ticket as well as no expiry 10 day hoppers I bought in 2015-2016 when Disney was changing everything up.

If DGD comes, it would be the last school free trip in 'winter' with grandma, unless Mom decided to take her out. The parents had already ok'ed her going to HH with me and I see no problem with them allowing her to go to Disney. There is always the slim possibility that she herself, might get shy about going without Mom or sister or Dad. No worries if so. I would never feel bad about that, as kids should always feel secure. Both girls want to 'live' at the Disney resort at HH. She said to me 'don't tell sister we are going without her'. Meaning sister will be sad or jealous. At the same time I sensed a certain satisfaction in getting to go with me by herself. And off course she will get spoiled rotten as I tend to do that to a reasonable degree.

Happy Wednesday morning! :cutie:

Judique - I thought I was up-to-date on everything Disney but you threw me for the Midnight Madness at Epcot. Please elaborate, I've never heard of this! :earsboy:

Ds1 stopped by yesterday after work to help Ds3 work on his car. Ds1 is moving today and needs his truck back. Since they couldn't get the car fixed, Ds3 said that he would help him move.

The neighbors dogs got out again yesterday. My neighbor across the street called the police. I called last Monday and his wife called over the weekend. Somehow these dogs get out of the yard every day and run around the street. I know one of them is going to get hit by a car so I finally gave up helping them and called the police. Yesterday, the cop said if they got out again after he left to call the station again. Sure enough they were running around so I called back but by the time the cop got here, the owner was back home and the dogs were inside.

Back to being cold today. For the past 3 days we were at 60+ degrees and today it's going to be in the 30's. Crazy!

Hope everyone has a great day! :tink:

Good luck to her!
Home Depot
I need to take a turn thru the local Home Depot or order from their website - I should take care of that chore toda.
I went to Kohl’s to look at bathing suits
Lands End has some great suits, and I've found that believe it or not, the Target website has tons of suits!
I hope places start to come on the market now that it is the end of Feb and selling season is almost here
I think you'll probably notice a lot of places starting to come on the market soon -
I went ahead and booked the Dolphin on points.
My grandmother used to always say Don't regret what you DO do, regret what you DON'T do! I always loved that saying and don't regret living by it! I hope you have a awesome time! I haven't stayed at the Swalphin but we do prefer the Epcot area resorts for the ease of just being able to walk right on over to Epcot or Studios, it's just a great location.

Good morning everyone - I'm off to get some bloodwork (which I may or may not have been putting off for 6 weeks -) then back here to the office to take care of a few things. Have a good one -

It's an event put on several times per year pre covid for Disney Vacation Club members. Paid for by DVC. Like an after hours event with free food and very limited crowds for members.

This is the first one since Feb 2020 (not sure they had one in March 2020). I was there with my SIL in Feb 2020 and we had a great time! I've done them at almost all the parks except Epcot. This one is Epcot. It's really not a solid plan yet for me, but I'll register anyway.
