I don't like frosting on my brownies, lol
I don't either.

We stopped at Dunkin after church. It's right next door. I got another Brownie Batter Donut. DH ate his on the way home. I saved mine for tonight.

Watched Maryland men's basketball. Now just random stuff until the game. I am recording The Puppy Bowl to watch later.

LOL, B&B! What in the world is “squacking goat?” I do hope both you and your DH enjoyed your breakfasts.

I misspelled it, lol. Squawking goat. Breaded and fried chicken breast on a buttermilk biscuit with some pepper jelly and battered/fried goat cheese. It's pretty tasty!

@easyas123 I had the sour cream and soup mix already; and I was at Trader Joe's and saw the other two dips and went HMMMMMMMMM. LOL It's just the two of us for now, too, so we'll have leftovers for a few days.

Thanks for the squawking goat explanation, B&B. I do think "squacking" sounds better for you, a Quacker 🐥

I want a cupcake, Pea! Those are adorable.

The only time I liked frosted brownies was years ago now at a Hometown buffet. That had more to do that I liked their frosting than that it was necessarily on the brownie.

Enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon. Stay warm everyone and as always know you are loved. Happy (almost) Valentine's Day.

Well, shoot! Everything that I just typed went away. How did that happen? Let's see if I can remember what I said.

DH and I took Lil Joe to church this morning. Masks are now optional in the church building. DD took Lou Lou to Urgent Care. She hasn't felt good the last day or so and kept us up in phases most of the night. She has an ear infection. I'm hoping that she will sleep better tonight after a couple doses of medicine.

After church, DD and I went to Costco and spent more money than we should have as usual. There doesn't seem to be a stocking issue there.

I don't care for icing on my brownies either. I prefer cake like brownies instead of the fudge like ones.

Thank you for the good wishes for my SIL. DH is on the phone with his oldest brother that spent the weekend with their sister. I should know more of the situation and when would be a good time for a visit later this evening.

@Kirby Thoughts and prayers to your SIL and family.

Good morning. It is 22 degrees and still snowing a bit. The snowplows are out so it must be more than we had last on the ground night. I was able to walk late yesterday afternoon so another round of snow must have come in. My house looks like more snow since I shoveled yesterday. I hope the snow plow guy comes by as it is more than 2 inches of snow now. My DS's town has a 2 hour delay so at least school is not canceled.

Off to make coffee and get ready for work. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone --and Happy Valentine's Day to my Quacker family. Its cold outside, but no more snow. Super Bowl didn't go the way I wanted, but it was a good game. I liked a lot of the commercials, but the Budweiser Clydesdale one was my favorite. It made me gasp, then made me shed a few tears. They know how to tug at the heartstrings for sure. Also loved the NFL ones with the guys coming out of the tv and being smaller than the kids..that was hilarious. There were a few more I liked, but can't think of them right now.
No plans for the day, at least not yet
Have a love filled day.

I'm up early with a cuddly cat, but it isn't her fault for a change. I was woken up by a text announcing a school delay. - Nothing like being woken up at 5:00am to be told you can sleep in. View attachment 647297
We did get a lot more snow than we were supposed to.
I was also woken up with a school call - from the school where DS is taking a class. 😬 Gotta figure out how to get off that list real quick, it happened last week too!

Good Monday morning :(

Not a happy morning for the people in Cincinnati. The Bengals got an "A" for effort but just couldn't finish the season with a Super Bowl win. They definitely brought the city together, everyone was excited leading up to the game and most of the schools are cancelled today. Two of my sons are off work today, their company closed in hopes of a win. Oh well, on to baseball season.

Took Ds2 and his girlfriend out to dinner Saturday night, he wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse. Picked up the cake pops that I ordered on the way to dinner. I was pretty early so I stopped in to Home Goods which is across the street from the restaurant. Probably shouldn't have stopped in, $100 later I walked out with 3 new wooden serving bowls, a Mickey Mouse head soap dispenser for the kitchen and some new jars for the bathroom.

Well, I guess I'll get back to work. Have a great day! :wave2:

I remember when DS was at Texas Tech. I got all sorts of alerts while he was there and then some for quite awhile after he graduated. The weather ones were sort of nice but the other ones I could have done without.

Lou Lou usually shows some improvement with an ear infection after a dose or two of Amoxicillian but not so this time. I think that she has something else and the ear infection is a side effect.

We're going on Friday to see DH's sister. Her cancer had affected her kidneys back when her cancer was discovered and she's been on dialysis ever since. She has stopped that starting this week so I don't know between the cancer and not having dialysis how long she will live. DH's brother that visited her over the weekend said that she throws up a lot of what she eats and has to watch her fluid intake. She's a nurse so she understands what she is going through and the process but that doesn't make it any easier. She has all the drugs and morphine she needs to help with the pain. I'm praying for a peaceful passing. DH's oldest brother didn't have one, I pray that she does.

Happy Valentine's Day, to all of you with extra love. Dad and I made ❤pancakes for breakfast! We made a big round pancake first and then used a heart shape cookie cutter. I'll post a picture later. It came out cute and will be fun to try for other seasons :)

I am going to finish watching worship from yesterday shortly. Just wanted to share today something that was said in the service that immediately brought my Quacker Family to mind. "Together in community, we create the love the world so desperately needs." Thank you all, for your love, faith, kind cheer, and friendship! You make a difference to me and many!

Extra prayers for Lou and Lou and for you dear Kirby as well.

I'm sorry a few of you were awakened by school robo type calls :(

I'll check back in later.

I am so sorry to read this. I had to reply because I went through this with my dad. My dad was on dialysis first (end-stage renal disease,) and was on it for 6.5 years by the time he died. He developed colon cancer, and had had it for a little more than 3 years, but they determined the kidney disease was the primary cause of death (which does make sense - at his age, 6 years is average life expectancy following renal failure.)

In my dad's case, he could no longer stand in order to get to dialysis at the end of his life. He usually went Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the week before he made Wednesday but then missed Friday, then missed Monday. Then Wednesday, he technically missed again because he went to the hospital, and died that night. So, about a week. He threw up everything he ate starting that Friday (and ate very little in general,) and the day he died he threw up "coffee grounds" (black and chunky) two or three times.

I would say my dad's death was peaceful, though very abrupt. He just quietly stopped breathing and that was that. One second there, the next second "__________________" on the monitors. There was a panicked interim, where they resuscitated him because he didn't have a DNR - if your DH's sister is a nurse and is aware her life is at its end, she probably has one, which will avoid what we went through. I hope that (barring the resuscitation part, which truly was the most garish part of his death) your DH's sister has a peaceful passing like my dad did. Peace be with you.
