Omg, idk which Dwarf I am! Lol. Maybe Sleepy! But I happen love Dopey! Dopey was the very first character my kids interacted with at WDW when they were 3 years old! Both kids were sort of shy, but DD managed to go up to him for a picture. DS went up, but sort of writhed in discomfort, and then ran away! So I think I have maybe one picture of the two of them with Dopey. (Of course that was before we learned to do character greetings on the way OUT of the park, too!) I also LOVE the Mine Train!!

DS made it safely to FL last night and let me know when he arrived so I could finally go to sleep. He is enjoying a fun day at Animal Kingdom today, sending pics of what they’re doing to our group text here at home. It’s fun. It’s really amazing how fast time flies! It seems like we were just there with two little kids ourselves! Meanwhile back at the ranch, DD took DH for his cortisone procedure today, and they then went out for Chinese food, so I’m getting pictures of that, too. I guess they’re all trying to torture me today!

Hugs and prayers for Bingo! paw: And sounds like, Taz! :headache:

Just a quick update. After sitting there for 3 hours and having an argument about my BP, it's just a bad bruise. Need to keep the hand wrapped for a few days but I will live. Good thing as I am off to Lancaster tomorrow. It may be a bit macabre but we are going to Shady Maple for breakfast, possibly Kitchen Kettle Village and the Rockvale Outlets. But the main attraction of the day is supposed to be the cemetery where my 3X Great Grandparents are buried. They were the immigrants to this country in the 1860's. In fact my 3X great grandfather had to register for the Civil War draft. I hope he spoke English. I do know he disinherited my 2X great grandmother for conduct unbecoming a daughter. She disobeyed him and married my 2X great grandfather - an Irish Catholic. 3X great grandfather was NOT happy.

 Sweet memory, Pea! I hope your DH is feeling okay and that sometime soon you get to enjoy a lunch treat, too :)

That is a good news update, Taz. Please continue to take care of yourself, my friend! Hugs, now that I'm glad to read that you have fun plans for tomorrow! :)

Dad went to Walmart this morning for the first time since the plague struck. They didn't have much of anything. Walmart.com so much easier and safer, closer, too, lol. He'll be going to the Dollar Tree tomorrow where he'll hopefully do much better.

Wishing everyone a good rest of the afternoon.

Good afternoon.

What a glorious day!

We started the morning by going to a viewing for DSonIL's grandmother. She was a month short of 90. Then a stop at the church to pick up our Jo Corbi pizza order, a fundraiser for the preschool. Another stop at a model train store. This is DH's new favorite place. He is working on getting my father's N gauge train running for the grandkids. Another stop at the library before we went home.

After lunch, a 3 mile hike in Fair Hill.

@AuntieMe3, add me to the people thinking good thoughts for Bingo.

Good thing as I am off to Lancaster tomorrow.
We actually considered going to Lancaster tomorrow, to the outlets and Mod Pizza.

(This is meant as a joke.) DS ordered a new car back in maybe September, to replace his first car - a 10 year old Ford Fusion. It was supposed to be delivered November 5 and he just heard it was delayed until December 17. He asked me to have my prayer people to pray for his Fusion to keep running. :rotfl2:

Thread bump to say what a nice post, Carol. So glad you had such a great day, other than of course the viewing. Condolences and a hug on that, my friend.

Thanks to a kind next door neighbor bringing it over, dad and I got mail we had expected on Monday. It was inside her mailbox. This has happened before (and to us with other tenants mail) so dad wondered if that is what happened again and sure enough it did.

Grateful to God extra that dad was able to give our two old comforters directly to two homeless people this afternoon. So much better than randomly donating and not even being sure it (used bedding) would be accepted which one local thrift store told him they would not take it. This way we know they will be used.

Hugs to all for a good night.

Good Thursday morning! :sunny:

It's been so nice here in Cincy this week. Temperature in the 60's and sun shining, and I still have no motivation to get out and exercise >:(. It's supposed to rain later today so I'll use that as an excuse. When I get home from work, all I want to do is put my pj's on and stay home.

Last night was my Survivor night, kinda sad that that's my highlight of the week. Made a pretty good dinner last night. Chicken breast, green beans and potatoes with a packet of Italian dressing sprinkled over it and baked all together. Ds3 ate the leftovers just standing in the kitchen and eating out of the glass dish.
Have a great day everyone! :dogdance:

Good morning all. Chilly 41 out, but sunny. I slept almost all night again, getting back to normal. Of course Mr L decides to cut his foot this morning somehow, and I had to spend time cleaning him up, bandaging it, and then washing all the blood off the kitchen floor, so that was a nice start to my day..lol
Stepdaughter is picking me up in a bit to go mattress shopping, then I want to stop at Ollies and Kohls to see what they have for mattress covers, blankets etc.
I haven't had time to watch much tv..wanted to get to Survivor last nite, but was too tired.
Have a great day everyone!901ubk.jpg

Sitting outside downtown waiting for the Veteran's Day parade to start.

I was up early this morning, so I did my "Christmas Inventory" - going through the bins and bags where I tuck away gifts bought randomly during the year, and starting a list of what I have and what I still need.

I'm not close to done or anything, but I'm in pretty good shape, and (as always) found a few things I'd forgotten about!

Back home now, and sitting outside again...with the cat. :rotfl:

She's rolling around in the sunshine (you'd think she's been cooped up for days) and won't hold still long enough for a picture. 😆

The parade was short and sweet, as was the ceremony after, but seemed fairly well-attended (at least on the section of the route where I was). I noticed that people were very natural about distancing, and it's nice to see things like this back on. :thumbsup2

Good Morning from warmer LA. Such an extra blessing this morning to not be cold. It's supposed to be in the 80's for the next few days.

:hug:Snowysmom.

Footballmouse, hug, that weather sounds like a PJ and being cozy sort of day indeed. I do hope you have a good one, my friend.

Yikes, Lynn. I'm sorry to hear about Mr. L's foot and the resulting mess for you to deal with as well. i hope he's okay and that you do enjoy your shopping later.

Thank you for going to the parade, Pollyanna! Smaller town parades especially those for Veteran's Day sound like such a nice thing to get to view. Lol, I admit to not being parade patient either. Christmas inventory is a handy thing to do, too!

Dad has taken my my car to the car wash and then to the Dollar where I hope this time they have some Christmas items including the boxed religious cards I like. At 14 for a $1 that is a huge bargain every year. Plus they have Scripture inside.

Thanks to all Veteran's and their families extra this day. Thank you to my Quacker family with members who have served and are currently serving extra, of course, too!

Mattress , platform, frame ordered will be delivered Tuesday. Summer is going to come over this weekend and we will take the bed apart, vacuum and clean the carpet and have it ready for delivery. Our mattress is going in the spare room, so I will sleep in there for a couple of nights. They will bring in and set up the new, and take the old out..and the box spring in there is OLD..as in Mr L's grandmother or great grandmother,,lol..it's like hay tied inside material..lol..noone but the cats ever slept on it anyhow..lol!

Stopped at Ollies (oldest grandson works there, great discount), and got 2 Q size mattress pads, comforter set for our older set which is going in the spare room. Got an extra set of sheets, some coffee (white chocolate carmel and spice K cups), a couple of other little things. Stopped at Aldis and got milk, bread, pumpkin pie and english muffins and am home to relax. Just moved the car back to its normal parking spot, and put the rest of my herb boxes in the shed. Mr L is napping, as soon as I bring laundry up, I will be at least have my feet up on the couch watching tv

Have a great evening...glad you got your car washed Mona..ours needs it, but I already had her take the hoses down and drain and put them away and the water is off..will have to go to Sheetz one of these days and run through the car wash

It sounds like everyone is busy today. I got alot done at the house. I organized the pantry into expired food the guys can toss, good food to donate, and food I will take with me wherever I end up going. Chris went overboard in buying canned good. I bagged up 3 bags of stuff to go into the trash. I got Chris' shirts ready to take to the woman who makes memory quilts. I am meeting with her tomorrow. I had a good phone conversation with her and she is very flexible with designs. I am having a multi purpose quilt done that I can throw over my living room chair and use to keep warm watching TV. It is a bit smaller than a twin size quilt but I want something I can always see and use all the time. I am having his 2 favorite shirts made into pillows that will go on my bed. She does custom stitching and is looking into doing stars, telescopes, and planets for the stitching. Chris was big into astronomy and had a telescope. We spent many cold winter nights looking at the stars and planets. He loved the early space program before spacelab and the shuttle. Younger DS just said the other day that he was looking at the stars and wished he could call Dad and ask him some questions.

This weekend older DS has to work so younger DS and I will continue with the cleaning. My car has to have it's 12 month checkup so I will be taking it in first thing Saturday. Usually Chris would do that but now it is up to me. I also have to get an inspection sticker sometime. I am not used to doing it all. We were a good team. It will take time to get used to doing everything myself.

Happy rest of the day.

Lovely lovely idea..you will always have a tangible memory of him with you as you watch tv, or just look at the memory quilts and pillows!

I loved reading this and am happy to learn about the quilt you are having made.

Good evening.

Dark out and I haven't even started dinner.

Another day of trying to be out of the house. Sunny day with beautiful fall colors. We started by going to a yarn store I had never gone to before to buy yarn to knit a toddler hat with earflaps for Carter. While I was there, DH went to a coffee shop for coffee. Then we went to Atlantic Tractor so DH could buy a chain saw. Next stop Yankee Candle in the mall. Then we were hungry so a stop at Chick-Fil-A happened. Last planned stop was the DuPont Environmental Education Center in Wilmington. We have ridden bikes past but never stopped to do the boardwalk trail. Saw a kingfisher and some ducks but not much else. I hadn't seen a kingfisher before. Then headed home but made an emergency stop for milk and bananas.

Needed that last stop because I am baby sitting the kids tomorrow. The daycare is celebrating Veterans Day on Friday but both parents had off today. I have plans to keep them busy.

Mattress , platform, frame ordered will be delivered Tuesday.
You are lucky they are coming so soon. So many people I have heard ordering furniture and mattresses have to wait 6 months or more. DS waited 6 months for his new bed.

I am having his 2 favorite shirts made into pillows that will go on my bed.
All of that is very cool. When my sister-in-law's father died, they had teddy bears made out of his plaid shirts for all of the kids and grandkids. My mother-in-law had teddy bears made out of her mink coat for her granddaughters. DD had to keep her's away from the dog.

Thanks, Lynn, car is all clean. Dollar Tree had a few things but no cards. That's okay. I got one package on Current and will send postcards to anyone else. Too expensive are cards. Maybe if dad goes back to the Dollar Tree this year, they might at that time have the religious cards I want and I can put a few boxes away for next year. All good. May you and Mr. L have many a sweet dream and peaceful night's rest on your new mattress and box spring!

I love the memory quilt plan, Snowysom! Many prayers that will be of comfort to you:hug: What an sweet and truly special gift the teddy bears will be, I think you should make one for YOU, too. Sometimes a stuffed animal friend can be a good friend.

:hug:to you as well, Carol. I pray the bears were of comfort to your family, too.

As Pea would say: 🐥

Good morning! This may be our last day with temperatures going into 60’s. We hope to finish pulling out spent plants.

Tom is healing very well. He has home PT twice a week. His breathing is not recovering as quickly as HE would like, but all his doctors are seeing progress and feel he’s well on the road to recovery! He sees pulmonologist next week.

Thank you for all prayers and well wishes.

Bobbi :)
