Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Just finally caught up. Worked some long, long shifts, then had to clean the house and pack. Ugh! Headed for Disney in a few hours! :goodvibes It will be so good to get away for a bit. We were last there the week it closed down at the beginning of Covid.

QOTD: The first thing that came to mind was Dr Quinn. (Family.) We were watching it this winter and it dropped off, but we have to get back into it again. As a mother I could feel the love and responsibility that Dr Quinn felt for the children she adopted. And how frustrating things could be with Sully even though they loved eachother so much. Lol. And Father’s Day will be spent with DH while away. I am bringing part of his gift with us, the other part is too big. But I’ll give that to him when we get home. We don’t have a lot of set plans, we want to mainly relax, but we’ll find something fun to do on Sunday.

@AuntieMe3 I know how you feel, am in the same boat at home. As a matter of fact, while packing, I went through a lot of clothes and other things and felt like I made some progress. When I get home I have to continue in my bedroom. Once reorganized, it will feel good. I was thinking this week how crazy it was when having to pack not only for myself but for little kids! I don’t know how I did it!

@Breezy_Carol I like shopping in Cracker Barrel too. We may end up having breakfast there on the road.

@flyingdumbo123 I hope your Dad is doing ok. He’s in my prayers. And Ladd, too, @easyas123. And everyone else here.

Hope we can all stay cool in the coming week. I know it’s been in the 90s in FL, but we’ll do our best to tough it out! :P

Good morning all! @Pea-n-Me Have a great Disney trip..I am so envious! I hope you have great weather, low crowds and a lot of fun!

Wow, the temp feels more than refreshing this morning,,it feels downright cool out,,at 46. Going to be another picture perfect 75 degree day. Will be getting the lawn mowed as soon as the grass dries out. No other plans that I know of.

Hubby is still asleep at 5 am for a change..so I am going to lay on the couch and snooze. Bet as soon as I get comfy and fall asleep, he will get up, lol!

Have a great morning everyone!

Have a great time!

Man…yesterday & today really have been beautiful weather wise here in Maryland-you are so right! I’m about to open up entire house to air out.

Yoga last night was really refreshing, I’m hoping this experimental opening of the studio works out for the instructor.

Youngest showed yesterday, His girlfriend and one of her friends leave for Hawaii today so he’s home for weekend to fish with dad & brother.

Junk food for dinner tonight- full blown natchos!

Working from home today. Need to slip out for a little bit though, I'm on a product study for P&G and I have to pick up the product (deodorant) this morning to test out. Was planning to do laundry and clean the house but after seeing the weather forecast, the humidity and heat will be back tomorrow. Looks like I'll be cutting the grass today and cleaning can wait until tomorrow.

Was watching the Today show earlier today and Jenna Bush went skydiving, live on air. It was funny to watch with her screaming and yelling "Oh God", made me laugh. I could never do it that's for sure!

Ohio had the million dollar drawing for those who received the Covid vaccination last night, I didn't win  . Fingers crossed I'll win next week's :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Have a good Thursday everyone!

Good morning.

DH and I got the lawn mowed before it got too warm. And most of the cicadas were still resting but two did land on my leg.

Headed for Disney in a few hours!
YAY! Have a great and safe trip And share some pictures with us.

Will be getting the lawn mowed as soon as the grass dries out.
See above.

Did that yesterday and still open now. It was actually cool last night.

71 and so nice outside..sunny, nice breeze, blue skies and white clouds. I just finished mowing the lawn. Then cleaned the mower off, changed the oil and air filter, let it dry in the sun, and just put it back in the shed with the cover on.

All windows are open here too,,and 2 of the 7 ceiling fans in the house are going to keep the cool air moving around.

Stupid cicada's kept dive bombing the mower, I think the sound it makes, makes them think its one of them. They don't seem to be quite
as noisy today,,although there were a LOT of them dead on the ground. And I mowed over most of the ones that landed on the mower.
Also got 6 of them with the fly swatter as they were climbing up the walnut tree to lay eggs,,not on my watch, lol!

Did laundry before I went out, so my chores are done for the day. Off to take a shower and cool down, then sit and relax before I make lunch.

Good luck at the dentist @flyingdumbo127!

Safely home and all went quickly and well at the dentist. This was my first time during the pandemic going on a Thursday. I had always stuck to Mondays so I would literally be the first patient of the week. There was one person sitting on the couch waiting for the hygienist along with I think one person with the hygienist. The dentist does my cleanings himself because he knows that's easier for me :) I went right in and was done in not too long, he said all looked great with my teeth.

Weird weather! Dad said there were a few drops of rain a little while ago. When we went to the dentist (Dad drove me because of street cleaning here on Thursdays. We get home before it's time to move over to the other side of the street for tomorrow, so he's able to run a quick errand afterward) it was sunny! Now it seems darker out.

Enjoy some R&R, Lynn :)

Still getting stuff done...I did more yesterday than I thought I would so that's nice but it still seems like so much to do. I feel like I'm at the point where it gets worse before it gets better.... I ordered some more storage baskets and a little shelf for DH office so that should help with the stuff waiting to find a spot. Filled 2 albums with photos and sorted through a bunch of other photos that wont fit in the albums. I'll get some photo boxes for those it's just so hot I don't want to go out to get them. LOL

Yesterday was the hottest day of the week....it was supposed to be a high of 108° but it was that at 4pm. I know it had to be hotter than that but I never did catch the high. Didnt cool off last night like it usually does around here. Today it's supposed to be 108 again but they said it was going to be cooler than yesterday so we'll see. I ran to the store this morning for eggs(our dogs get scrambled eggs with their food....:sad2::laughing:) and it was already 88 at 8am. Its a little humid out, for us anyway, so it's making it worse, we live in the desert so it's usually dry....lol

Father's Day plans....DH is out of town for work, I gave him his gift last weekend anyway. He got a cover and tools for his new flat top grill. He loved them and made some delicious smash burgers on them to celebrate. 😋

My sister is coming up this weekend to start getting stuff ready to my moms celebration of life next weekend so we'll make dinner for my dad Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday before she heads home. Dd and I will probably make him dinner again on Sunday.

Speaking of the celebration...we have almost 150 people that have RSVPd.... Now my mom has a very large family so about half of that is family(she's #3 of 9 with everyone married with kids, and now their kids are also married with kids too plus lots of cousins...). My mom was very well loved by everyone that she met....she was the type of person who never met a stranger. :lovestruc Thankfully we have a very large yard for everyone and very generous family and friends who are helping make everything happen the way my mom would have loved.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to work some more. :grouphug:

Yikes!!

And thanks - this made me laugh!

Good evening all.

Got a fair bit done today, including picking up a entire car full of groceries...we had NOTHING in the house to eat. No bread, milk, half & half, anything for lunch...pretty much 2 dozen eggs, vodka, jalapenos and a bag of pepperidge farm stuffing was all that was left in the house! Got the dining room cleared out - a big chore, as well as the laundry room. Washer fouled up again and was leaking BUT I was home and caught it so all is well that ended without a flood. Husband will take apart tomorrow when he gets home and figure out what is happening in there.
Tossed a lot of stuff out, always a good thing. I hate clutter. Also on tomorrows agenda is clearing off/up the porch. Got a few things cluttering it up as well.
Husband also rigged up a way for me to water all the trees from the cab of my tractor with the push of a button, integrating a pump he wired thru the tractor cab attached to the large water tank, which I can just use the forks on the front of the tractor to pick up. Tomorrow morning I'll give it a whirl for the first time. Then I'm going to do all the mowing so the weekend is free from that chore.
I've got to pop out to the bank tomorrow, too. I should have done that today but completely forgot.
Today was beautiful, but we did put the AC on to take the humidity out of the air this evening, and make it comfortable for sleeping - besides I think the heat is getting ready to ramp up this weekend.

Enjoy your evening everyone -

@Pea-n-Me, so jealous of your trip but we're planning to take the GK's Thanksgiving 2022 or Spring Break 2023. Once DD gets through her court stuff in a couple months we'll be able to think about it more seriously.

Had my yearly mammogram this morning and then off to Kroger I went. Our store is the highest volume one in the area. You would think that building one on the north side of our little town and another in another little town south of us would give ours a breather but you can't tell the difference at all. I even asked one of the cashiers that has worked there for years and she said they are getting as much business as they've ever had.

Saw our neighbor at Kroger and thanked her for the vegetables. She said that the GK's can pick anything she's planted along side of the fence bordering our yard. That's quite a bit. Got home with the groceries and found more tomatoes, green beans and an egg plant in a laundry basket in my garage.

Dinner tonight was a ham steak, the mac & cheese I bought at Ham Orchards and cooked cabbage. The cabbage was from our neighbor's garden, it was the size of a large bowling ball. Tasted pretty good too! I still have quite a lot of the head left.

I can't believe on of my uncle's on my mom's side has landed himself in facebook jail for the 2nd time in less than a year of having an account. Meanwhile we are all sending him congratulation messages and asking if he needs a cake with a file in it via my aunt. Yes someone forgot to tell an almost octarian to behave himself. My mom doesn't have an account and is one of the few of her and her siblings that does not and she is thinking of getting one plus if she does no doubt my dad won't be too far behind and he and my uncle tend to get in lots of adventures together. I don't know if I can handle it.
Oh well at least it's a distraction from the heat though since it was only in the high 80s today it was much much cooler and lots more comforatble. We had enough of a cooling breeze that it has cleared the smoke filled sky from the Robertson Draw fire located between the MT/WY line South of state road 308 between US 212 and US 310 as well as the Crooked Creek Fire in the Pyors as we call the Pyor Mountains along the Big Horn and Carbon County line. Together they are over 75000 acres plus on the rare days we have summer winds out of the NE we are getting smoke from the Crooked Creek Fire outside of Townsend, MT though that one is further way from us and we rarely get winds from that direction in the summer months. Winter is another story all together in fact our worst storms come out of that direction combining the cold artic air from Alberta with heavy precipitation from the Pacific Ocean. In the summer months our heavier storms tend to come out of the Southwest so we know if they are calling for a tunderstorm and it is coming from that direction that chances are it is going to have hail with it.

Good morning everyone. Nice and cool at 53, but going to mid 80's again,,back into the 90's by Monday. Oh well, the brief respite was nice while it lasted. No rain in sight either, which means I will have to water either tonite or early tomorrow morning.

@Kirby--nice to have neighbors like that, when I used to live in MA , I had a neighbor like that, I would come home and find all kinds of veggies sitting on my back step--our tomatoes are growing nicely, have to check and see if any of the flowers are turning into little tomatoes yet. Time for them to get another dose of miracle grow along with the watering.

No other plans for the day, unless his 2 meds come in at CVS and are ready for pick up. Both were out of stock, and had to be ordered. She said they would be in by yesterday at 3, but I checked online this morning and they still aren't ready. Not in a rush to pay for them anyhow, lol!

Have a nice morning all--enjoy the day!

Just a quick check in before starting our day. :goodvibes I understand how you guys feel, for sure! 😅 This trip is all about renewal for us. No set plans. Lots of R&R. Appreciating every moment here and thanking God for our ability to be here. The past year and a half has been so difficult for us (as a lot of you know). Caring at home for, and losing two parents, as well as being essential workers and caring for Covid patients in the hospital and all of those ramifications, has been so draining. There have been times I’ve been so exhausted, I worried something was wrong. But here, I have plenty of stamina and am trying to make the most of every moment! (Even though there were times I wondered whether I had even the energy for a trip at all! Glad I saw it through.) So off to head out, but a few quick pics, as requested. (Sorry, the bus one is just sort of a crappy still from a video, but the buses always scream “Disney” for me, so including it anyway!) Will get more today. Thinking of all of you while here. :flower3: Have a good day, all.
