Good morning everyone.

I am feeling better, not 100% yet but better. I expected to feel some effects from the shot and am more convinced than ever I had Covid before it was known what it was. I read some reports that people that react as I did were most likely exposed and didn't know they had the virus. I have been saying for over a year that I had it.

I am lucky I got the J&J before they paused it. My sister in law is really angry because she was scheduled to get it on Friday with my brothers. My youngest brother will only get the J&J. He actually works for them and sees the data. If he feels the risks are worth it I'm glad that is the shot I received. My brother is a PhD in some field I can never remember, nuclear biophysics or something like that. Of course he will always be my baby brother but he is a smart man.

Not much on my schedule today. Going to let my body dictate how much I do. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.
Pollyanna, I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL.
My trip to FL has been productive in all ways...my SIL has had a bit of a break, jobsite I needed to check out is coming along, and I got all the info on my fathers upcoming operation. Information settles the nerves. Spent some time on Sanibel Island yesterday, headed out on the boat later for most of the day, home tomorrow. The weather....oh boy the weather! Sunny and warm. About 89 I think. Just felt so nice to get a healthy dose of Vit D.

Good morning.

Just hanging around waiting until my dentist appointment this afternoon. No other plans until a Zoom book club meeting this evening.

Poor DGS still has a fever and is lethargic. His dad is home with him today. It is an asynchronous teaching day so he can do it from home. They are taking him for a COVID test but probably just a childhood bug. Good to get the test though. Any time the grands are sick, I worry.

Also..to those of you who got or are planning on getting the Johnson and Johnson vaccine..they have put a 'pause' on it around here and are not giving it anymore, due to 'issues'..whatever that means. So just be cautious!

I heard that on the news this morning too. Apparently it was blood clots, but it was six women out of almost seven million vaccines, so they are going to do some digging to see if they all had something in common, and hopefully be able to “unpause” for most uses soon.

(My pet theory is that maybe they were all on the same birth control pills or something - don’t those carry a small clotting risk anyway?)

I heard that one of the women died, but hope the others are treated and will be OK.

Raining on and off here,,temp is only 56 and it feels damp. Had to turn the heat on. Hubby's leg is still bothering him, so we put off errands till tomorrow. Today was a good day money wise, both of our SS's went in, he got his overdue payment on his annuity from Prudential, and we got our State refund in. I think I may do some browsing for a riding mower. The older I get, even with the self propelled and easy start, it's getting to be too much for me. Should have thought about not getting such a large yard when we bought the house I guess, lol.
Hubby is napping , I may do the same. I turned the ringer off on the phone..too many robocalls today. I will check messages later if any, but not expecting anything
I agree with the others..it's only Wednesday and this week seems to be just dragging.

Happy Wednesday all. We just got back from a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas....lol A friend went last week and said they felt safe in the hotel and casino so we have been talking about making plans to take a trip soon. Dh came home from work early Monday morning and said....I can rearrange my schedule the next couple days, let's go to Vegas. So we booked a room(free because we are part of their players club), packed a bag and headed out. We got there around 4 and spent a couple hours in the casino. We had to wear our masks, they gave hand sanitizer and there had hand washing stations all throughout the casino floor...we doubled the money we brought with us to gamble and then went to bed. Yesterday we did a private cabana at the pool and were out there all day, got a little too much sun...lol Then we went back to our room for an early night, we headed home early this morning. We had a great time, we haven't been since end of 2019 and used to go just about every other month. When we were getting ready to head home this morning, DH got a email about getting a significant raise. So he said our trip ended up being an early celebration for his raise.

We haven't had a QOTD (I don't think) in a while. I was thinking last night (because Dad would be going to the dentist and thus are lunchtime soup would be later) of daily traditions I have so come to cherish. I thought that might make a good QOTD. QOTD for 4/14: Share one of your daily traditions either solo or with a member of your family. This could be a simple walk with your dog or time of prayer or sharing about your day at dinner. Anything For me, I know I have shared this before, food wise Dad and I are extreme opposites in our tastes lol. We both enjoy so much sharing at lunchtime some Campbell's Chicken Broth. For me has become an extra time of communion with God and that Dad and I can both share together in. Together we also watch each day's recorded Sale of the Century each night before I head off to read and rest. Solo for me at the top would be after I turn out the light, I spend a few moments talking with Jesus, given Him thanks for the day and prayer to be a light the next day. Of course coming onto our thread to check on each of you is something dear to me because all of you are! How about you?

Dentist visit went well with no problems. I had chipped not one, but two teeth, since the last time I was there so the dentist filed them smooth for me.

Since COVID, we haven't fallen in a a daily routine with retirement being new and the world so changed. One thing that has remained consistent is that we always say grace before dinner.

QOTD 4/14: I have a few daily traditions. Breakfast is nearly always a cheese omelete, I always eat Dove Chocolates, as my "work snack" and my bedtime snack is Tricuts with Swiss cheese, a cup of yogurt, and a cookie or two. Ha! I also have to listen to my worship music every day, usually when I'm at work typing stuff on the computer, and in the evenings after work as I'm browsing the internet. Oh... wait... you said ONE. oh well.

Hmmmm well generally we ( husband & I ) usually have coffee in the AM,
and in decent weather we sit outside to drink it. Evenings we take a moment to sit on porch and have glass or two of wine.

Telling DH to take care and give him a kiss when he leaves for work. Talk to God before I go to sleep.

Had an arborist and crew out today to put a wire high up in our Red Oak to hopefully keep it from splitting in a storm one day. They also cleared it out of dead branches and limbs to close to the house plus a Live Oak and another Red Oak. They did such a good job!

Daily, even though I’m somewhat younger, I get the newspaper daily and walk to the box at the end of the driveway. I love the fresh, crisp air in the morning and seeing the world awaken. Some days i read it over breakfast, most days, I’m packing my lunch or loading the dishwasher so I read articles on the weekend.
I also get a daily Gospel reflection sent to my email I try and read each morning, but some mornings .....I get on the discussion boards first....and spend too much time and then can’t check email before work. But that’s ok , you guys often have uplifting messages

Good morning all. Our nice warm Spring weather has disappeared. Its 50 now and will only be 52 today. Hoping to get out to the store if hubby's leg is feeling better today. Did a little cleaning yesterday, am slowing catching up with Spring cleaning, and still working on my summer to do list, but it's so long it may be fall before I can get through all of it . Grass needs mowing again, and I only did it 4 days ago..but it's all wet from rain right now. Caught up with more shows, trying to get the tivo emptied off, but everytime we take off 3 or 4, we add 3 or 4 more new episodes, so it's kind of a losing battle, lol!

Yesterdays QOTD. Same as Sparkle..I walk to the box at the end of the driveway in the morning and get the paper, I don't read it often, but it's hubby's must do (especially the crossword). I also say prayers for those on my prayer list every morning and every evening. Several of you are on that list!

Good morning.

Heading down to Middletown at noon. Carter is still under the weather and DD has her own doctor's appt she can't miss. We are going down to sit with a, hopefully napping, Carter. She does have a call into the pediatrician and is awaiting the COVID test results.

Grass needs mowing again,

What we have needs mowing too. Front yard is no problem but the backyard has tall grass bordering mud where grass needs to be seeded. I hope the landscaper comes soon but with all the rain, he can't.

Raining on and off here now too. Was going to go shopping with Sister in law and niece. They were on their way here,,and she turned a corner, and didn't see a car there, and hit the car with their van. Knocked their bumper loose and broke a headlight, but noone got hurt. Of all the people to hit, she hit my handyman/wood guy. He was on his way to Waldorf MD to return a motorcycle he bought. He went to register it and found out that it was an illegal sale. She only put a slight dent in his passenger front door. I feel so bad,,I know it was an accident, but if they hadn't been coming to pick me up, it wouldn't have happened, or at least not today. Sister in law is not a very careful driver, it was just a matter of time before she had another one but still.......
