It sounds like everyone is busy with Fall preps or thinking about them. I need to show DH the picture of the pumpkin spice snaps package so he can look for it tomorrow when he is at the store. He is very interested in them. Glad to hear that they are good.
I was in the office this morning as usual. 2 of my coworkers who have been furloughed came in to pick up some stuff and drop off their laptops. It was bittersweet. We have not seen each other since early March so it was so good to see them. But, we thought of the days when our whole team was together. We always worked well together and everyone was so nice and helpful. We hope that early to mid 2021 will see better times in cruise so they can get back to work.
I love reading about the lesser known tourist attractions. I have to google them to find out more info. San Diego is so worth a trip. We went in 2015 with older DS and DDIL. I had a friend who lived there so we visited with her and had dinner at a really nice downtown seafood restaurant. We saw the Midway, walked around the area, and went to San Diego Zoo safari park. We also toured Stone brewery which is about a half hour out of San Diego. Then we flew from there to Phoenix and drove to the Grand Canyon. From the Grand Canyon we went to Sedona. We did the pink jeep tour and saw the Cathedral in the Rocks. Great vacation.
Supper tonight is naan bread veggie pizza and roasted broccoli.
@Bianca and Bernard Greek lemon chicken soup sounds delicious. Soups are a favorite here.

We are predicted to have a hi of 100 on Sun, and then a hi of 60 on Tues. That will be quite a change.
Grandkids are back to school Pre-K, 2nd and 8th this year. To say time flies doesn't even begin to describe it, does it?

Some heavy duty T-stores predicted for our area this evening. I love a good storm, but we need to start drying out a bit or some crops aren't going to do to well.
Went over our calendars this afternoon, between this & that looks like my husband will be out of town for a total of almost 4 weeks in the next 7 weeks or so. We have a short week at Universal on the books mid-October that we may move to earlier, although I suspect doing so may put some other noses out of joint (folks who decided to go the same time AFTER we already booked, so there was no preordained plan to vacation at same time). So we need to sit down and decide what we want to possibly shuffle around, if anything. We really don't vacation well with others, we know it! AND we are ok with it...But darn it, we are not going to change the way we relax because someone else likes to vacation a different way.
I'm making my world famous stromboli for dinner tonight. I got a head start on it and already placed the order

Today was iPad distribution at Josh's new school. It literally took 5 seconds...we pulled up, one lady took our damage waiver and payment (we'd rather pay $35 for "insurance" rather than $400 to repair and/or replace the thing! 
) and another lady asked his name and what class, handed me a bag, and off we went. Now I need to finish setting it up. I'm waiting for DH...I'm NOT an i-anything person and I'm not tech savvy. I just hope things go smoothly with the instructions they've handed out.
I've also been asking Josh about twice a day, what bus does he take, what room is he in, and what's his teacher's name. He's got them down pat. So I feel good that if he's not sure what to do or where to go, he can ask someone. Part of the packet they gave us this morning includes a book with actual photos of the school, plus tomorrow morning there will be a Zoom orientation. Now my little crying jags are more from emotion rather than fear. Praying that come Tuesday morning, I don't start crying until after the bus pulls away...
Yesterday was cool, rainy, and humid. I think that's worse than HOT and humid...it's not hot enough to put on the AC, but you have to put on the fans (at least) because the air is so heavy and the floors feel sticky. But then you feel really cold. Today the heat has caught up with the humidity, so we have the AC going and it's pleasant. We braved Costco (again) and not only do they have Christmas trees and toys out, we purchased the Lego City advent calendar and saw a set where you can build a couple of monster trucks out of gears. Last year, Josh received a robot and plane gear-building set from the same company, so we think he'll enjoy this one as well. Just have to get over there without him knowing!
I'm just quoting this because DH and I were majorly sticker-shocked by the prices of food in Las Vegas! We mostly ate at the hotel food court because of the cost. The one that stands out in my mind was at Starbucks one morning...which we don't even like anyway, we prefer Dunkin', but we had a gift card...2 small coffees and 2 pastries cost us $16! I think our GC was only $10. We started buying breakfast at McDonald's after that - their coffee was better - and I'm sure we paid $15-$20 as well. I don't think any meal cost less than $15, honestly. We only did ONE sit-down meal, a lunch at the Nine Fine Irishmen pub at New York New York...a salad (for me), a sandwich (for him) and 2 sodas cost us $50 before tip. One of the reasons we didn't gamble (other than we just don't like gambling) - we couldn't afford it because we had to eat!
At least the attractions and shows had coupons and deals...I specifically remember getting the tickets for Titanic, Bodies, and the Shark Reef for $54 total per person ($18 for each attraction). The at-window cost for each one individually was far higher!

@AuntieMe3 , thank you for the words of encouragement re:daycare. DGD is returning to where she went until last March. They got a welcome email yesterday and she has been watching the video of the classroom over and over. And showed me Miss Miranda, her teacher. She was crying when she got here today because she thought she was going to school. Her brother will be starting in the infant room. Even though mom and dad are working from home, they can't with especially her there.

We had a picnic in the back yard for lunch. Just made sandwiches and ate out on a blanket. Then went to the playground and then to a diary farm for ice cream.
It is so humid and with no AC, not real comfortable. Sitting on the porch waiting for the same thunderstorms as @easyas123 . Dinner tonight is taco salad.

Prayers for your coworkers to be able to return to work, next year, Snowysmom. It is such a Blessing when you are able to work with people who are positive! I just Googled "Cathedral in the Rocks." I also saw Chapel of the Holy Cross. A special adventure you had to see both I think you (and everyone else) would enjoy checking out San Diego.
Pea, I learned of Plymouth Plantation from a Baby-sitters Club Little Sister Book called Karen's Pilgrim. Karen takes a trip to Plymouth Plantation. Also in a Boxcar Children Book that I enjoy called The Pilgrim Village Mystery, the Aldens go somewhere that sounds like it could be that series version of Plymouth Plantation.
Wow, now that is a weather change, Gwynne! At least it goes from hot to cold instead of the other way around which I think given this warm Summer would be harder! Prayers for all your grandkids.

Finishing two photo albums of CA and other things for a dear friend to both Dad and I as a surprise birthday gift. Lol, don't ever try making a photo album (when you need any extra pictures for it) during a plague! Not easy especially since I am not able to go out but with help from Dad and God's Grace it got done. I think Barbara will love them.
I need a new chair for computer use. The one I currently have is too big for me for one. The bigger issue is it does not (arm rests are widely spaced and bigger) is it won't slide under the desk. As a result, my back and shoulders have little support which causes me both back and TMJ issue, no fun. I looked at both Staples and Office Depot last night because both stores are close to one another and not that far from where I live. This morning my Dad went to both. Staples had nothing. Office Depot had a chair we both remember having looked at a couple years ago when looking for the chair I have now. I do remember it being comfortable then as did Dad and he said it was still comfortable today. Praying Office Depot does get a shipment of them on Saturday because that is the last day this chair will be on sale. They offer free delivery which will be perfect. An extra Blessing to all this is that Dad will inherit my current chair. He desperately needs a new chair. I bought him his current chair as a gift at least 10 years ago and let's just say it is a sunken rock! My chair now will fit him well and work much better. Good morning.
Went and had fasting routine bloodwork done this morning. Next up, go get a dresser from MIL's place then that is done. No other plans for the weekend except maybe grocery shop. Need to menu plan first.

It's going to be a beautiful day, and a beautiful long weekend, weather wise. Sunny blue skies, white puffy clouds, slight breeze, temps of about 80. If it weren't for Covid, it would be a nice weekend to be at the ocean! I plan on doing the yardwork as soon as the grass dries out today, then grocery shopping tomorrow, then we will have the rest of tomorrow and Sunday to visit with the stepson. Everyone have a wonderful day, and enjoy what is always referred to as the last weekend of Summer! (though I don't really agree with them!)

DD will bring DGS about 10 for pool time (when it gets cooler, they can start doing other things like parks, but still too hot

DGD will join after DS takes her for a doctor appointment.
Tomorrow will be Mulan movie day at DS's house (he has the BIG screen). The kids will share the goodies they made then.
Sunday is usual....clean upstairs and do laundry.
Chicken Florentine for dinner tonight.
Expected to be 113 today
DD will bring DGS about 10 for pool time (when it gets cooler, they can start doing other things like parks, but still too hot
