We were in and out of Walmart in record time. Still don't have the other set of doors open, but I was only the 210'th person in the store when I went in. Found Clorox with Bleach again on the shelves, along with Great Value Brand. The kitty litter section was almost empty save for 4 plastic pails of Tidy Cat. I hate buying those, but they had nothing else and I was almost out. Snapped a couple of pics of Halloween decorations while there too. Also found 2 from raffle baskets his business is raffling off tomorrow at the 1812 Brewery here in town. Found everything on my list at Aldi's and Walmart. Stopped at the farm stand , wanted 'winter' squash, but they had none. They also had very few tomatoes. Plenty of apples though. I got a sweet seedless baby watermelon. Came home and put stuff away, went out and washed the car before the sun got to the back of the house, and I am off to make the Apple Cider Doughnut Cake now!20200905_101034_resized.jpg20200905_101054_resized-1.jpg118889128_10157633088802205_1554661841923196716_n.jpg118937521_10157633088842205_8586710306924263240_n.jpg

Too funny, Awful Tower! There is a town called Paris about an hour and a half from us. They have their own miniature Eiffel Tower that is an exact replica of the original and about one tenth the size that you can take pictures in front of.

Carol is away with her boyfriend for a couple of days. About time to lay down for a nap today. They are doing good, maybe after their nap we'll make some cookies.

Dinner last night was Wendys, I was tired for some reason. Tonight is tacos.

@lynxstchCan't wait to hear how the cake turns out.

All this talk of mini-golf, anyone watch Holey Moley? It is silly and sometimes off color but makes me laugh.

We did the before breakfast grocery shop. I like going that early. Since then chores around the house and yard work. We mowed the grass, which is incredibly heavy for September. DH worked on fence repair and I burned sticks in the fire pit. Getting carry out from a Mexican place for dinner.

Sure sign of fall at the grocery store.

I really enjoy the pictures. The kitty is adorable with the beautiful eyes. It was 56 degrees this morning and now it is around 78 with a nice breeze. I love this time of year when the weather changes from hot to warm to cool. The Weather Channel forecast has snow in Wyoming and surrounding area for next week. The high temp there now is 91. On Wednesday they are predicting 19 degrees. Yikes! Glad it is not coming to New England yet.

Kids can say the most interesting and funny things. Awful tower is so cute. My oldest DGD can get so dramatic sometimes and just says the funniest things while acting them out.

Tomorrow we are getting together with everyone to celebrate youngest DS and DDIL birthdays. She is 2 weeks older then DS. Their birthdays were in July and August but trying to get everyone's schedule to match up takes patience. I baked 2 cakes: A chocolate cake from the recipe on the back of the Hershey's cocoa can and one dairy free chocolate cake as our youngest DGS is allergic to dairy. It will be a fun time.

Happy Saturday.

6 months of regular jack hammering at 6:15 am and tile cutting at that same ungodly hour from my crazy Nosy Neighbor next door. She's practically building the Taj Mahal outside in her backyard.

Otherwise, it's road noise and birds.

It looks just like the picture. Smells so good. Waiting for stepson to get here so we can all try it!

It appears that there is an issue with the iPads...none of the kindergarteners' accounts populated correctly, so we can't finish the setup. Thankfully they are aware of it and offered us a work-around, so after our Zoom orientation meeting this morning, we were able to use Teams on the computer to "meet" the teacher and see Josh's other classmates. She did a quick run-through of their schedule and I will not be able to leave the house on Wednesday through Friday - they won't be online all day, but he'll have to be online for a lesson about once every hour. I also won't be able to have my doctor's appointments, as my doctor only works on Wednesdays. Unless I can get an appointment the day before Thanksgiving...

And right after all the meetings, as we were getting ready to run some errands, Josh discovered that his "new" (to him) bike has been set up with training wheels, the seat lowered, etc. and he wanted to ride it right away. My mom drove by a house last week where a man was setting out bikes for sale - we have seen them often at this house for years upon years; we think he takes them, fixes them up, and resells them. This one happened to be the right size, good tires and seat, and he was only asking $15 for it, so Mom took it. I don't want to say I'm feeling sad or down, but it's so bittersweet right now - kindergarten orientation AND riding a big-boy bike all in the same day. He's growing up WAY too fast.

Have to share this funny one...as we were on the road doing our errands, Josh saw this and said, "Mom, we must be in Paris, 'cause there's the Awful Tower..." :rotfl:Well, at least he's learning SOME geography!

We finally stopped at that nice plant nursery that I mentioned a few weeks ago, that had their mums and pumpkins out already. Their inventory is actually much lower than what it was when I first saw it!

Has anyone here ever had a "honeynut" squash? These looked interesting...

Thank you for starting the thread! I personally would be going stir-crazy without a great group of people to talk to!

I said something to my hairdresser a few nights ago about not being sure about what to do for Christmas...she said, "Oh, please don't tell me we're still going to be doing this at Christmas!" I said, "Well...6 months ago, did you think we'd still be doing it now?" :(
Awful tower.... :lmao: soo cute!! And I love that skull...is a yard sign? I love sugar skulls. I had a Loungefly purse that I LOVED....524164
And a wall decoration....😍 kinda hard to see but its has sparkles...524165
I usually decorate more Dias de los Muertos than Halloween.

But I did find these little guys today when I was looking in a cabinet for something. They are little tea light candle holders, i honestly don't even know where they came from. LOL524166

My sister set up my nieces home classroom today and it's just looks soo cute. 524167

Good Sunday morning DIS family. It's a chilly 53 degrees here now, but going to be upper 70's and sunny later. The apple cider donut cake is/as as good as it looked . Stepson was over to visit last nite, and told us he just bought his first brand new car (he's in his 40's lol). 2020 Toyota, he will be getting it Tuesday or Wed as they didn't have the model he wanted with all the bells and whistles on it at that dealer. It was so good to see him (haven't seen him or the granddaughter since before last Christmas :( We got to facetime with 2 of the 3 granddaughters while he was here. They are growing up way too fast! He will be back again later today after they do their fantasy football thing, and I am planning St Louis ribs for dinner, just have to decide what to have with them. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Your weather sounds wonderful!!
Another 113 day expected here

We had a good day at DS's yesterday. Enjoyed the movie and watched DGS enjoy his first taste of popcorn. He loved it.
DS and his family are moving in with us for a week starting the evening of the 13th. We'll see how that works. I see a lot of time in my office or bedroom. ;)
Kids will be home schooled here, so we need to be quiet and not distract them.
I am very picky and people running around my house and using my kitchen is not something I am looking forward to

Dinner last night was apple pear crumble......low carb. It was so good.
Tonight will be meatloaf

Aww, such a cute home classroom space, AuntieMe3 :)

Congratulations to your stepson, Lynxstch :car: Hug, so glad you got to see/visit via Facetime some family.

I hope Mulan was fun, Meriweather and kept you all cool, too!

We were able to order the computer chair yesterday on Office Depot.com. It will come free delivery by Thursday. Today the same chair is $70 more (no longer on sale). So grateful we were able to grab it yesterday. I will post how I like it :)

Also grateful yesterday to a very kind Spectrum rep last night who restored some channels for us including Game Show Network that had disappeared or went mute! As an FYI Spectrum's channel tier changed September 1st. Up went their prices with it :P

Hug to all and have a good Sunday.

This song has been in my head for a couple of weeks. DS loves Coco and had it on last weekend.

Weather is beautiful here this weekend, 80 and sunny. Got out yesterday to look at some condos being built - it motivates DD. We’ve been doing that with her since high school (and I think it helped get her through college! :lmao: ). She and her boyfriend cooked us dinner last night, it was tasty. She loves the Bourbon Chicken Skillet at Denny’s (for some odd reason) but we don’t have any Denny’s nearby, so she found a recipe. Pretty close to it, I would say!

Back up to the upper 80's/lower 90's for us for a couple of days then a cool front comes through giving us highs in the 70's. Can't wait!

Carol and her boyfriend just got back from a short trip. The kids were good while she was gone, Lil Joe got into her mascara last night.

Lunch/dinner will be hamburgers and chili dogs.

Having a relaxing day. Tacos and chips/salsa/queso for lunch. DS had a friend come visit for a few days (they are also isolating, so we felt fairly safe, and we've known this family for...jeez, over 10 years), so he's in a better mood.

Got my Reddit secret santa gifts today! I'm a puzzle fan, and Harry Potter is pretty awesome, so yay! And I've never done one of those crafts before, but yay, it's Disney, so I'm all in! /happy dance

You guys - can I brag a bit??? My kids won a fishing tournament today. They won so much that after splitting it the eldest has almost enough for settlement costs for future home and is just so much closer to that goal!
Almost :yay:

I'm so tickled for them both!! Happy Dance, Happy Dance!!!
That’s awesome!! Congratulations! 🏆
