Aw, thank you for thinking of me! I have been MIA, haven't I? DH got Friday off from work due to protests but Josh was still in a mood. My FIL got sprung from the rehab hospital, so we drove up to my in-laws' to make sure they got home okay, see if they needed anything, pick up prescriptions, etc. Dad looked good; he and Mom were sitting outside, and when he got up to go inside, he stood right up (i.e. didn't have to inch to the edge of the chair and try to stand up several times before actually getting upright).
I had seen in my moms group on FB, on a "what movies are you watching" thread, that many moms said National Treasure was a good one for kids. I had thought that Josh might still be too young for it, but he's already seen Indiana Jones, so why not? We watched both of those movies, plus I introduced him to Labyrinth. We've now watched that twice. I'm so happy that he loves it like I do! Next up, however, are the Noah Wylie Librarian movies.
Today we visited my in-laws again. We sat outside (still...my SIL was there and she insists we don't go inside. She won't even use the bathroom - she kicks us all out of the backyard and finds a spot there. I am not kidding). Dad was still moving around a lot, good to see His ankles were very swollen, however, but he doesn't like to drink water.
My mother is on and off giving me the silent treatment at home. I don't know what I did this time. Yesterday, Josh asked me about our "Happy Everything" party that she had wanted to have, but it will not be happening now that she is going to Illinois for a month to care for my aunt and uncle. I told Josh, "Grandma won't be here so we're not having that party, but we'll do something for your birthday" (in August). Well...several minutes later she got out of her chair and very nastily snapped at me, "By the way, I *WILL* be here for his birthday. I wouldn't miss that. How dare you tell him that I won't be here." Um, that's NOT what I said (and I reiterated exactly what I said). She continued to stare daggers at me, then finally went back to her chair, muttering under her breath. I'm so tired of this. She complains that I don't do anything, but when I do, she feels it's done wrong and redoes it - like hanging the laundry. The clothes dry, with minimal wrinkling, but she rehangs everything because she doesn't like the way I do it. Even when I put the laundry in the washer - she'll complain that I put too much in at once! I wish we had the money to leave.
Gwynne, Happy Anniversary! Hope it was fabulous!
To everyone, big

and I hope all is well!
