Question of the day: 4/23: Do you enjoy sports?

As I mentioned my husband is season ticket holder to Colts' football. I am Southern girl and raised to know my football. I love college sports but could pass on professional and really I don't have attention span for long games. I also really enjoy ice hockey. I don't even know why as I can't even think about ice skating but it could be the beating snot out of each other. So what about ya'll? Sports?

some sports, yes. I like football, baseball and hockey. I don't watch college sports, only pro. Go Broncos! Dbacks! Rockies! Avs! Coyotes!

For lunch today, I made a Tuscan white bean soup, with leftover salad from last night. For dinner, we had Five Guys.

My ice cream maker came in! Got the bowl in the freezer now. If I feel energetic tomorrow, I'll go up to the post office to get my Dole Whip mix (/sigh USPS). Right now, I'm leaning towards just making a chocolate ice cream tomorrow, and waiting to get the DW until next week, because I have another package coming in sometime next week. Save me a 2nd trip. IDK

It was hot here today, warmer tomorrow. Tina, I'm sorry you have had a headache, I've had one too but for a different reason (time of month) Feel better and thank you so much for being a kind listening ear and lifeline to so many. Pea, too! God Bless You both.

No sports for me either. When I was a kid and also well into young adult years I enjoyed watching baseball not really now. I'm glad to hear sports is something for some of you to enjoy :)

I was most thankful today for a nice card in the mail and text on my phone. Means extra right now for sure to be in touch with those I care so much about. All of you on this thread have also become an important check in for me as well, thank you :)

Very grateful right now to be feeling better after some rest.

Grateful for senior pastor's nightly email. Thank you, Flightless Duck for all your work for your church to help with outreach!

Another nice day. I needed to do some running around today but decided to stay home....our area had a rally to protest the stay at home orders at a local city hall... :rolleyes2 I didn't want to seem like I was participating in that so my running around can wait. I have some things to pick up at the PO, pick up a prescription for my doggie, and drop my daughters car off at the dealership for a service...it can all wait until next week.

Hubby has to go out of town this weekend for work, I'm not thrilled about it but its 'essential work' and luckily he should be the only one in the area he'll be working so hopefully he's safe. We have someone coming out to do a big yard cleanup Saturday and I hate having to be the one to deal with it since hubby will be gone.

Everyone made their own dinner tonight....lol Hubby had sandwiches, daughter had leftover spaghetti and I had chicken tacos again. 😋

I did get to video chat with one of my besties today. We tried to add our other bestie to the call but she didnt pick up. It was good to "see" him. I miss them so much, we spend a lot of time together so its been sad not getting to see them regularly.

Also I'm trying really had to be responsible and not do some retail therapy... I keep seeing ads/emails for stuff I really "need".... Since I'm not making my normal paycheck, I'm trying to save as much as I can until I'm fully back to work but its hard....:rolleyes1

No sports for us...lol If we get invited to a Super Bowl party or something like that it's for the food and the company and not the game. Up until a year or two ago, we had a local minor league baseball team and we used to like going to the games with our friends but we weren't too invested in the actual game. Haha

No sports for me. Not a sports watching or participating type of person. I do like to fly fish but that is about it.
My DH and DS ocean fly fish!. As a matter of fact DH just finally had some time to sit down and tie some flies for the first time in a long time. Its something they enjoy together. They are also restoring a small boat that they picked up (for free!) on CL.

I played softball, but I come from a big baseball family with many players going back to the 1930s. DS is an NCAA college player, too, so we attended most of his games on many different teams since tee ball and loved every minute of it! This weekend would’ve been his Senior Day. 😭 Unfortunately their season was cancelled due to Covid. They had all worked so hard. Our whole family are Red Sox fans and we try to get to games at Fenway as often as we can every season. DS and I still like to toss a ball around or hit some balls at the batting cages together, lol.

I played a little intramural basketball back in college, but I'm not really a big TV sports person. - I'd much rather watch a Little League game in person than professional ball on television.

And Tina, I am in awe of your ability to the work you were doing! That takes a special gift.
...

My wife and I are ardent supporters of THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the Toronto Blue Jays. I find the NBA and NHL boring and stopped watching the NFL 20 years ago...don't miss it. Wife used to be a NASCAR fan, but stopped following when Jeff Gordon retired. College football and baseball take up enough time...gotta leave some time for other interests.

I really need work to be over for the week, that's my complaint of the day, otherwise all is well here.

I made one pot garlic Parmesan fettuccine last night, my husband was skeptical as he dislikes Alfredo, but I assured him this would be good, and he LOVED it. I made some grilled chicken for it to go over and he ate so much he was too full to run last evening. My husband doesn't eat at home a lot when he is at the office so I think he forgot how good of a cook I am, as this is the second or third time that he has been skeptical of a dish I am making and then raved over it. Not sure if we are ordering from our favorite cocktail bar tonight or doing pot roast and mashed potatoes.

I don't do sports at all, not a fan, no interest, and I have none of the coordination required to play a sport myself.

I am grateful that I only spent one night in hospital on Wednesday, and what was originally thought to be a mini stroke is something easier to live with, IMO. I am grateful for all the care I received in Cape Regional hospital in NJ. In this day and age, it’s a hard decision to go to an ER.

I like to watch the Phillies and some college football.

I don't really care for sports. I do like to watch ice skating but is that really a sport? Actually with all the athletic jumps they do now it probably is a sport. I liked it better when there was more dance and grace. Sometimes we have baseball on in the background. Not this year of course. In the 60's I liked to listen to the Boston Red Sox games on the radio with my Nana. They had some great players in the 60's.

We had pan seared chicken with red bliss potatoes and salad for supper last night. Tonight it is takeout out at one of our favorite cajun/mexican restaurants. Yummy guacamole.

Happy Friday (it's Friday, right?) Some days I need the Today show lady remind me what day it is.
Make sure you are doing something for yourself as treat and doing something on the weekend to break up the never ending feeling that some people are having being at home. I'm doing pretty well today. I had several prevention zoom meetings. I made my best hair knot on my head wearing my fanciest Minnie Mouse shirt for such meetings. Truth be told it probably not far off how I run into the meetings barely making it on time or late. I gave kudos to one person on the call, she had on full makeup and hair done and looked super cute. I was proud I put on supportive undergarments lol

I talked to my mother in law this afternoon and it was actually pleasant. We checked in with grandma and she was in better spirits today, which major blessing. She was complaining about her governor and all these people and then I heard that as soon as possible she'd like us to come visit and please bring those good cupcakes we bring. I laughed because I always bring the bad for you goodies and others send her fruit of the month and I'm sending gluten free cookies and brownies. When I'm in my 80s just give me the cookies and brownies. That's all I'm saying.

Matt's finishing up school projects and I feel bad for him about graduation and hoping I can figure out something for him. I realize that at 42 and grown man it's not such a big deal as a young person but we'll do something even if just us and zoom his family in. I'm really hoping to figure out how to go see his grandma by June.

Dinner tonight is homemade pizza with salad.

I hope everyone is doing well and taking the best care they can with challenges going on. I'm always email away if you'd like to chat or even zoom. I won't be looking the best but I'm also ready for good chat!

Gratitude today:
1. Good conversation with my mother in law. Normally she drives me crazy. I'm thankful she is taking this more serious now.
2. Good conversation with grandma and better spirits.
3. Good health and safe for all those I love so far. I'm so blessed.

Blessings and good health to all
