Tina, thank you for this thread! I haven’t been posting much but I read and I appreciate the simplicity and kindness that exists here.
I like most fruit pies and coconut custard but I don’t see custard pies around much anymore. I used to work in a bakery years ago and we sold many coconut and plain custard pies. I like a good key lime pie but I find the commercial ones too sickeningly sweet. I also like chocolate cream pie but with a graham cracker or chocolate graham cracker crust, not regular pie crust.
All that talk about cake the other day - this was ours for Easter. It did look better than it tasted and next time we’ll go back to our standard chocolate fudge with cream cheese frosting. I did get to have a pineapple upside down cake dole whip at WDW last month and I think I was just trying to recapture the magic and deliciousness of that, but it didn’t quite fly without the Disney pineapple ice cream.
