Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

As an aside, I will always associate snickerdoodle cookies with Christmas...my grandfather (with whom I grew up) ALWAYS had to have homemade snickerdoodles for Christmas. My mom still has the original "Betty Crocker Cooky Book" with the recipe.
I have my mother’s “Betty Crocker Cooky Book” as well. I love to see her handwriting next to certain recipes. It brings back such nice memories. I will have to look up the snickerdoodle recipe. This is the book where I use the Russian tea cookies recipe. The banana oatmeal cookies are a favorite too from this book.

I was so excited that Hilton released the official Doubletree cookie recipe this week. I LOVE those cookies. If you aren’t aware, you are allowed to go to the front desk and ask for one whenever you like, you aren’t just limited to check in. Sometimes I have gone to the desk every day to get a cookie . . .

Unfortunately I don’t have the ingredients on hand to make them and the baking aisle at the store is empty, but one day I will make them!

Question of the day 4/12: Cookies? Yeah/Nay? What flavor?

I LOVE cookies. MmmMmmMmm there is not a bad cookie in my opinion. 😋

I love French macarons for bakery splurging....especially pistachio.

My favorite to make is chocolate chip. I've been told my choc chip cookies are really good. I've used various recipes through the years so I kinda just throw it all together now. They are combo of crunchy and soft...hard to explain but man, they are so good.

Same for us....if we're going somewhere and there is a Doubletree there is no question, we're staying there just for the cookies. I was so excited for the recipe too but I don't have any rolled oats and don't plan on going to the store until next week. Can't wait to try them.

I’ve been reading this thread for a few days and have to add my thoughts on cookies. We discovered Cowboy cookies one year when in Florida at Publix. Looked for a recipe and found Martha Stewart’s. It’s become our favourite cookie, and I had stocked up on the ingredients just before the quarantine. It’s got the usual butter, flour, sugars, etc. , but also has oats, pecans, coconut and either raisins or chocolate chips. We prefer raisins. They’re almost healthy. Made a double batch.

Today's movie is Four Weddings and a Funeral

It turns out we watched both Four Weddings and a Funeral and Get Out on Saturday.

Sunday we ignored the Wheel o' Movies because the next movie was Alien, and we felt that was a weird thing to watch on Easter. We watched It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (remember...my kinds are 23 and 20 🤣 ). Then we played some card and board games and stuff.

As for yesterday's question: Favorite Cookies? I love all cookies., although usually only for special occasions. We bake our own. Every Christmas is baking season, and we take some to each of our works and to our church's coffee hour. I think my favorite are these Raspberry Stars we got from All Recipes.

Edit: That's not to say we don't buy cookies, but not usually the prepackaged stuff. Mostly for my own safety. A box of Oreas would not last more than a few days.

I got to do a zoom video chat with my family yesterday. It was my first time using zoom and I had to abandon my computer and use my phone, but we all managed to get it together long enough to chat for 45 minutes. :rotfl:

I facetime with my sisters throughout the week and we have a running text thread and I discovered Duo yesterday, for my Mom who has an Android. Now we can all video chat with her, too. :)
