Question of the day 4/8: What's your drink of choice alcohol or nonalcoholic?

I love iced coffee. I miss getting my iced coffee from Starbucks or Dunkin'. I go through the dunkin' in afternoon when it was $2 for medium. I'm cheap lol I also love a good glass iced tea from somewhere like McAlister Deli. We keep almost a full bar here at the house too. I love a good margarita on the rocks, not frozen. I also happen to like really nice flavored quality tequila on ice. I haven't had a drink in about 6 months with all my health issues and look forward to when I can get back to enjoying a drink here and there.

My Matt is a beer guy and we have few different kinds besides the bar stuff. For his 40th, we toured Jack Daniel's distillery and George Dickel distillery. We just HAD to have special $100 bottle of Jack only sold there. I have to admit it's smooth and I only cough a little.

Dinner tonight is rosemary garlic lemon chicken thighs, rice (for me), couscous (for DH and DS) and veggies.

Coffee/tea:
Chai Tea Lattes
Caramel Macchiato
Peppermint mocha

Sodas:
Pepsi Throwback
Mexican Coke
Lime Coke
Ginger Ale

Drinky drinks:
Chai Martini (Mmmm, I'll be awake and lit at the same time!!!!)
Lemon Drop
Not Your Father's Root Beer or Cream
Vodka Cran with lime
Wine (Stella Rosa wines are amazing! I really want to jump on their sweet wine club wagon...this quarter, it's a golden honey peach, a Moscato rose, and a blueberry wine; I just fight myself about pulling the trigger and doing it. I love the watermelon and the peach ones as well. And moscato d'asti. and the Black. And the Prosecco Imperiale. And the..well, you get the idea)

Non drinker here..so nothing alcoholic. I think that comes from both of my parents being alcoholics (and passing away due to it), that I have never been a drinker
Non alcoholic...COKE..plain old classic coke..or A & W root beer or Barq's rootbeer. Once in awhile Seagrams ginger ale

Things I am grateful for today
Beautiful spring day today after a horrific thunderstorm last nite, which did no damage
Family and friends all safe and healthy
Being able to just relax and read this thread every day and check in with my DIS family!
Peace and love to all

Question of the day 4/8: What's your drink of choice alcohol or nonalcoholic?
I like beer, or sometimes a margarita at a Mexican restaurant.
At home for nonalcoholic, I like flavored seltzer.

Gratitudes:
1. A beautiful 74 degree day.
2. DH and I took a 3.5 mile hike in the local natural resource area. Passed only 4 people the whole time.
3. Our neighbor turned 21 today. Her mom had said she was bummed because not at college with her friends and missing out on celebrating. Two families across the street have elementary age kids who chalked the road out front with birthday wishes and we socially distanced happy birthday and gave her cards. This was good for all involved.

Non-Alcoholic: iced coffee with just a little half and half. Although, I drink more Key Lime La Croix than anything else.

Alcoholic: impossible to choose, depends on my mood. I am someone who genuinely likes the taste of most alcohols and alcoholic beverages, so as long as it is spirit forward and not too sweet I will probably like it, I tend to prefer citrus based drinks though. For beer, the darker the better, and I prefer red over white wine, but my favorite is sparkling.

Today started off well, I finally received confirmation from our second AirBnB stay for our canceled Hawaii trip that we will get a full refund to my credit card! All that's left to deal with are the flights to and from Hawaii now, everything else has been a full refund (of course the one time I actually purchase 'cancel for any reason' trip insurance I don't need it).

Drink of choice..

I have a few.
  • A nice glass of red wine is a favorite (currently on a South African wine kick.. Penny Black by Post House is great)
  • A nice dry Manhattan. Mmmmmm..
  • Non-Alcoholic, I am a big tea drinker. Just about any sort of tea. Sitting out by our bonfire pit on a crisp early spring MN evening, with a nice cup of hot tea. Doesn't get much better! Well.. until it is a bit warmer out, and that tea is swapped with a nice glass of wine. :D

Nonalcoholic favorite drink is Iced tea. I also drink alot of seltzer water.
Alcoholic drink of choice is wine. I like red and white but have been mostly drinking reds. Good for the heart, or at least I tell myself that. LOL!

I'm not a soda drinker, so I guess my non-alcoholic drink of choice is water. I drink a lot of water, on odd occasions I drink unsweetened ice tea. I do drink a cup of coffee in the morning.
Alcoholic drink - well, depends on my mood and what is going on! Favorites include martini (vodka), champagne or rum punch. My everyday is usually a vodka club or wine.

Nonalcoholic drink? Besides water, the man and I would say seltzer. We've gone thru quite a bit more than I anticipated we would during the shutdown. Of course our shutdown has been longer too.

DGD would go for my "secret" iced tea; I add all the good for her unsweetened juices she refuses to drink (pomegranate, sour black cherry, cranberry) alone into the tea. The juices also show up in her smoothies.

Booze? The man enjoys a dry vodka martini and my locked down preference is Armagnac.

DGD's mother is in the city so she's staying with her for a few days. I hear tell she brought a U-Haul up so I guess she's back in the state for a long stay. Interim, the man and I are living it up eating what we like;). Tonight, dinner is franks, sauerkraut and broccoli for the man and a fines herbes omelette and cup of tomato soup for me. I'm sure the man will finish off the pistachio ice cream tonight.

I'm happy to see some others saying water - it's honestly what I prefer. I would say I drink something other than water maybe about twice a month? (Though I'm probably at a full month only drinking water because of the quarantine.)

I have a cup of foofy coffee or a hot chocolate about once a month. I do enjoy milkshakes a few times a year, but that is more of a dessert than a drink, IMO. I will also drink lemonade or juice on occasion for a non-alcoholic drink and hard cider for alcoholic.

I am also thinking about those cakes :cake:How fun it would be when it was safe to do so to have a Dis Dessert meet up :)

I am most grateful today for:

Two nice phone conversations

That my Dad and I are healthy and well. (I just need to figure out a mask--that allows for normal breathing--solution especially for the laundry mat)

Kleenex staying in Amazon cart so far :p

I don't drink alcohol ever so that's not a choice for me. I do drink regular water like a Whale, probably one of Sparkletts (home delivery) favorite customers. For a treat, I truly enjoy a chocolate shake from Wienerschitzel. It's not made with real ice cream but more of a soft serve so it's not heavy (or heavy sitting in my system) like ice cream can be. Thinking about this in another way now, I would add the tiny cup of grape juice each person takes from a Communion Tray at church during Holy Communion-positive memory of being at church!

Non-alcoholic: Water with crushed ice. I am a weirdo who is obsessed with chewing on crushed ice. I also enjoy Lipton Citrus Green tea on occasion.

Alcoholic: Raspberry Stoli and sprite, although since moving to GA, it has become almost impossible to find Raspberry Stoli in liquor stores. I can't find another brand that I like as most are really sweet.

Question of the day 4/8: What's your drink of choice alcohol or nonalcoholic?

Non-alcoholic...I only drink water at home. If we go out and they have raspberry tea, I'll get that.

Alcohol...I don't drink often but when I do I like margaritas, only on the rocks
Cranberry vodka
a non spicy bloody mary with extra olives 😋 ,especially when I'm in Vegas, I don't eat a lot even we're there so its filling like a meal.
My newest drink is a vodka tonic with lime...hubby and I started ordering it on vacation earlier this year when the sweet drinks were getting to much for us. This drink sounds so mature to me for some reason...
