I used to live in South Texas and have visited San Antonio, the Hill country and many surrounding towns, including Uvalde. It's a long ago part of my life but not forgotten by any means. The events of the week made me cry as my memories came back.
I can't remember the last time something so sad actually made me cry.
Of course that is not enough of a response. It's just unbelieveable to think that at a time when I and others my age should be able to sit back and enjoy the last quarter of lives well lived, in safety and happiness, instead we have to worry that there is a threat on every corner for ourselves and the people we love.
When I look into the online faces, I see also the faces of my grandchildren, here and soon to come. I want the world to be safe for all of them.
So I will stand up and make my feelings known in a peaceful way, and that is probably more than I should say here.
Good for you. I actually made a contribution to the cause.
I have had a couple of dark and stormys, and I'm feeling kind of mellow for the first time in days. I'll keep my remarks simple. Cause dis policies and all.
I didn't quote @easyas123 , but the news reports are infuriating. And heartbreaking. One hour and 25 minutes.
No matter what side of the aisle you are on on other matters, on this one thing, we must come together. We should all be mad and sad. Nothing changed 10 years ago, but maybe we can make a change now.
