Summer just left and before she did, she had him call me. He seems a little forgetful today, its either the dehydration or the antibiotics. He sounded better on the phone to me than he did when I was there. He got mad at her and the nurse, because they wouldn't let him sit on the side of the bed to eat dinner..lol.. He refused to eat until I told him he better eat and better get better cause I want him home soon, and in one piece. So he ate some of the peaches, and a little of the mac and cheese. They are alternating the 2 antibiotics every 8 hours..using zosin and vancomycin. She sent me a picture of his leg. The nurse said it looked more swollen to her,,not to me..its a little redder, but a lot less swollen than it was when I left at 1:30! I ate a little , not much, just not hungry. Going to take a hot bath, try to watch a little of the Bachelorette and then go to bed. Going up at 9:30 tomorrow.. Summer said visiting hours start at 10..I said they start when I get there, let them tell me differently...
@easyas123..it's really helpful to get names. In our case..we used to be Western Maryland Health System. Now we are UPMC Maryland,, so all the head honcho's were replaced with new ones from UPMC, but the book they gave him today, has a directory of all the people's names and phone numbers..that will save me a lot of time and trouble trying to track them down if needed. Also there is a picture of the head of the hospital..turns out she is the one who was walking around greeting people during the covid vaccinations so I had already met her..lol
Oh..and as for the Dr who keeps trying to avoid me.. I nailed him right after the big debacle he caused. He never had anyone check the leads when he put in pacemakers..--DUH..he was the electrocardiologist and his only job is pacemakers and icd's,,and guess what caused my husband to literally die 2x (and thankfully be brought back). A bad lead..and he lied to my face the first time I asked him about it. Then he admitted he didn't check them. If they had..none of it would have happened. So after we had to go to Baltimore and have another great Dr take out the bad lead, replace it with a good one..it got infected, and they had to take the whole new pacemaker out, and wait for the hole to heal..and his pacemaker/icd is now on the right side of his chest instead of left , like normal. Anyhow..they sent hubby back to cardiac rehab unit to finish what he had started,,and Mr Know It All Dr, walked up to me and put his arm around my shoulder. I turned to him and almost smacked him. He knew darn well we could have had a malpractice suit against him with no problem..but all I I said to him was ..I have 1 question for you..did you learn anything from this? He said yes..I now check the leads every time we do a device check, and I check them when I put in a new pacemaker or replace an old one. I said that's all I ask, so some other patient doesn't have to go through the 6 months of Hell we went through because of you. He said he was terribly sorry,,but I still can't stand the guy to this day. If I go with hubby to device checks or cardiac visits..that Dr will look to see if I am there and stay far away,,lol! It is already listed on hubby's records that he is never to go near my husband again other than to say hello, how are you doing? When the pacemaker needs replacing in about 7-8 years..we will go to Baltimore to the Dr we both trust now!
Have a great evening all!
