Severe thunderstorm warnings for us right now. Today was zero chance of rain according to the weather channel this morning. Why then did we have thunderstorms at 10 am, and now again the sky is getting really dark. The leaves are blowing off trees and all over the nicely mowed and trimmed yard I did yesterday. Going to hurry and have dinner (leftover ribs from Sunday night), just in case we do get the storms and lose power

You & my husband must share a weatherman! My husband is always upset that they got the weather wrong...usually when he's about to go fishing ha ha!!

We also have severe t-storms threatened. Forecast, but I'm not seeing them. Darn forecasters know I love a good storm and all it's doing is getting hazy & more (if possible) humid!

Dinner tonight? Leftovers. I've cooked the last two nights, and I want to play catch up with the leftovers we do have before I cook more. I have been craving some chinese in the worst way, but am trying to be good with the diet. I'm fighting it, but it might win!

Thank you, I’m glad people enjoyed the photos! :goodvibes @Snowysmom DD and her boyfriend just got home from North Conway this morning, too! They had a great time and the weather was beautiful. They hiked on a mountain and way up there they saw a wedding taking place! Just six people and a photographer. Funny because that’s the type of wedding she wants some day! She was away, DS was down the Cape with his girlfriend, and I had to work three in a row so DH and Toto had a quiet weekend. :listen: @lynxstch I had to drive to work in a thunder and lightening storm this weekend, too. Scary. But pretty! I saw a shot from Boston:

@apirateslifeforme , I am a worrier too so nothing I can say will alleviate your concerns. I thinl easyas123 made a lot of good points.

I'm going to get called in for a "discussion." He *can* potty, he just *won't*. Maybe he'll be different at school...
I think being with other kids and peer pressure will solve this problem.

I also agree about soccer. Both of my kids played rec soccer from a young age but stopped after one or two high school seasons due to marching band and lack of competitive nature. DS started reffing rec soccer during high school for spending money and went on the ref club soccer in college. DGD started soccer shots for skills this year.

DD bought her kids and we went to a local farm/orchard where there is a Big Backyard. Then they came back here to play and have lunch. Her husband is a teacher and started school yesterday so she is learning to handle 2 kids solo, and doing a good job.

We are under a thunderstorm watch too.

Dinner tonight is mahi mahi, corn on the cob, and tomatoes from the garden.

That picture of the lightening over Boston is so cool looking,,thanks for sharing it. Storm has already blown thru here, and wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Came thru at 40 mph so it went over us pretty quickly!

Wow to the lightning photo! That is a quite a sight!

So glad you had a good time, Snowysmom! Prayers Lynxstch, your DD and her boyfriend enjoyed their getaway as well.

Tuesday (I almost for a second typed Thursday :P) Gratitude:

A phone call from a good friend sharing positive health news.

A Smart and Final surprise my Dad brought home of a dozen cans of Campbell's Chicken Broth. This product at times seems as though it has gone by way of the dinosaurs! It's something we both enjoy daily so it's more special when it is found.

All the adorable stuffed animal shares and photos truly were such fun to read/see.

Always our thread and all of you in it!

Had a storm, but it was pretty much nothing. A little rain, couple claps of thunder and 2 lightening bolts. Stopped raining, sun came out, now it's raining again, but not hard. Sister in law in WV has had 2" of rain and they have storm warnings till midnite along with flood warnings. She lives about 15 min from us, lol!

@apirateslifeforme, Josh is the cutest! What a busy day for you!

We've had some beautiful clouds today thanks to Tropical Storm Marco. My sister and her husband had to cancel their vacation later this week in Galveston due to Hurricane Laura. Looks like it will travel up into Texas east of us, hopefully we will get some rain from it.

Took my mom to the cardiologist today for a routine visit. He told me that she doesn't have to come back unless she is having issues which tickles my mom to death. We're not going to tell her any different because in reality this just means to make her comfortable. With her weight loss and dementia we see the road she is going. She's not anywhere near leaving this world yet but she is getting closer.

Dinner tonight was a Honey Baked Ham (courtesy of one of Joe's clients), mac & cheese and succotash. A neighbor made us a cherry cheesecake. Yum! We don't usually have dessert but we did tonight!

I haven't been out to see any Fall stuff but here is a picture of one of our Burr Oaks out front a couple of years ago. The picture doesn't do the colors justice.

Hey, all. If anyone’s reading right now, I could use some good thoughts/prayers/whatever-your-style-is.

We just heard from my in-laws that our nephew was in a bad skateboarding accident. He has a skull fracture and is having a CAT scan now.

Best wishes for your nephew. Hope all goes well for him

Prayers for your nephew @PollyannaMom . I hope he's okay, let us know if and when you hear something.

DH had an update through MIL earlier this morning. (He didn't realize I wasn't on the text, because the one last night was a group message.)

The scan last night showed enough that they needed to watch him closely, but that he wouldn't need a drain unless it got worse. He also broke two bones around his left ear, so he was bleeding a lot from that, and was sick to his stomach - either from the head injury or the pain meds.

@PollyannaMom praying for your nephew.

@apirateslifeforme when my daughter was going into Jr high, I was still so worried, what if she can't find the bathroom??? :laughing: But you were right when you said he'll be done with school before you know it. My daughter is 22 now and it feels like its just been a couple years since she started school. :grouphug:

@Pea-n-Me love the flower pics.

Question about childhood stuffed animals or toys....I don't have anything like that from my childhood. DD on the other hand still has SO.MUCH.STUFF....lol You would think she plans on opening a museum or something with everything she's 'saving'....she has stuffed animals and Barbie type dolls(her favs were the Monster High ones). We took her to Build A Bear ALOT when she was young. 🤦‍♀️ I told her she could keep one (very large) storage bin of that stuff and you would not believe how much she shoved in it.:laughing: She always says she's from the Toy Story generation and can't just get rid of her toys, she'd feel to bad. :rolleyes1:laughing:
